महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-24, verse-7

निरोंकारेण यद्भुक्तं सशस्त्रेण च भारत ।
दुरात्मना च यद्भुक्तं तं भागं रक्षसां विदुः ॥७॥
7. niroṁkāreṇa yadbhuktaṁ saśastreṇa ca bhārata ,
durātmanā ca yadbhuktaṁ taṁ bhāgaṁ rakṣasāṁ viduḥ.

durātmanā ca yat bhuktam tam bhāgam rakṣasām viduḥ
7. bhārata yat niroṃkāreṇa ca saśastreṇa ca

7. O Bhārata, they consider that portion of food to belong to the rākṣasas which has been eaten without uttering `oṃ` (oṃkāra), by a person carrying a weapon, or by an evil person (durātman).
