महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-24, verse-69

पर्यश्नन्ति च ये दारानग्निभृत्यातिथींस्तथा ।
उत्सन्नपितृदेवेज्यास्ते वै निरयगामिनः ॥६९॥
69. paryaśnanti ca ye dārānagnibhṛtyātithīṁstathā ,
utsannapitṛdevejyāste vai nirayagāminaḥ.
69. paryaśnanti ca ye dārān agnibhṛtyātithīn
tathā utsannapitṛdevejyāḥ te vai nirayagāminaḥ
69. And those who consume everything themselves, neglecting to share with their wives, the sacred fire, servants, and guests, and whose rituals (ijyā) for ancestors and deities have been abandoned—they are indeed destined for hell.
