महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-24, verse-47

अवेदव्रतचारित्रास्त्रिभिर्वर्णैर्युधिष्ठिर ।
मन्त्रवत्परिविष्यन्ते तेष्वधर्मो गवानृतम् ॥४७॥
47. avedavratacāritrāstribhirvarṇairyudhiṣṭhira ,
mantravatpariviṣyante teṣvadharmo gavānṛtam.

47. O Yudhiṣṭhira, for those who do not adhere to Vedic vows and conduct, though they may be among the three higher classes (varṇa) and are served with mantras, their transgression (adharma) is equivalent to lying about cows.
