महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-24, verse-42

नान्यत्र ब्राह्मणोऽश्नीयात्पूर्वं विप्रेण केतितः ।
यवीयान्पशुहिंसायां तुल्यधर्मो भवेत्स हि ॥४२॥
42. nānyatra brāhmaṇo'śnīyātpūrvaṁ vipreṇa ketitaḥ ,
yavīyānpaśuhiṁsāyāṁ tulyadharmo bhavetsa hi.
42. na anyatra brāhmaṇaḥ aśnīyāt pūrvaṃ vipreṇa ketitaḥ
yavīyān paśuhiṃsāyām tulyadharmaḥ bhavet saḥ hi
42. brāhmaṇaḥ pūrvaṃ vipreṇa ketitaḥ anyatra na aśnīyāt.
hi saḥ yavīyān paśuhiṃsāyām tulyadharmaḥ bhavet.
42. A brahmin should not eat anywhere else unless first invited by another brahmin. If he does, he will indeed share the same unrighteous consequence (adharma) as one involved in animal violence.
