महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-57, verse-77

शूले प्रोतः पुराणर्षिरचोरश्चोरशङ्कया ।
अणीमाण्डव्य इति वै विख्यातः सुमहायशाः ॥७७॥

aṇīmāṇḍavya iti vai vikhyātaḥ sumahāyaśāḥ.

77. The ancient sage, though not a thief, was impaled on a stake due to suspicion of theft. He was indeed renowned as Aṇīmāṇḍavya, a sage of very great renown.
