महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-57, verse-71

एवं द्वैपायनो जज्ञे सत्यवत्यां पराशरात् ।
द्वीपे न्यस्तः स यद्बालस्तस्माद्द्वैपायनोऽभवत् ॥७१॥
71. evaṁ dvaipāyano jajñe satyavatyāṁ parāśarāt ,
dvīpe nyastaḥ sa yadbālastasmāddvaipāyano'bhavat.
71. evam dvaipāyanaḥ jajñe satyavatyām parāśarāt dvīpe
nyastaḥ saḥ yat bālaḥ tasmāt dvaipāyanaḥ abhavat
71. Thus, Dvaipāyana was born to Satyavatī from Parāśara. Because he, as a child, was placed on an island, he came to be known as Dvaipāyana.
