महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-27, verse-56

एवमेवात्मनो वीर्यमहं वीर्यं च पाण्डवे ।
जानन्नेवाह्वये युद्धे शल्य नाग्निं पतंगवत् ॥५६॥
56. evamevātmano vīryamahaṁ vīryaṁ ca pāṇḍave ,
jānannevāhvaye yuddhe śalya nāgniṁ pataṁgavat.
56. evam eva ātmanaḥ vīryam aham vīryam ca pāṇḍave
jānan eva āhvaye yuddhe śalya na agnim pataṅgavat
56. O Śalya,
evam eva ātmanaḥ vīryam ca pāṇḍave vīryam aham jānan eva yuddhe āhvaye; pataṅgavat agnim na (āhvaye).
56. O Śalya, knowing full well my own prowess (vīrya) and the prowess (vīrya) of the son of Pāṇḍu (Arjuna), I challenge him in battle, not like a moth to a fire.
