रिक्ता त्वनिष्टफलदा व्याध्यनर्थमृतिप्रदा ।
अत्युच्चेऽप्यतिनीचस्थे मध्यगस्यावरोहिणी ॥८१॥

81. riktā tu aniṣṭaphaladā vyādhyanarthamṛtipradā
atyucce api atinīcasthye madhyagasya avarohiṇī
81. The daśā known as Riktā, however, produces undesirable results, bringing forth disease, misfortune, and death. It proves to be a declining influence even when a planet is in its highest exaltation or deepest debilitation, and also for a planet situated in a middle position.
