Indeed, if that sign (rāśi) is a benefic house (śubha-kṣetra), then the outcome of the planetary period (daśā-phalam) should be known as auspicious. If it is a benefic house (śubha-kṣetra) associated with malefic planets, the results are auspicious at first, but inauspicious afterwards.
