O Pārtha, hear this resolve (saṃkalpaṃ) of mine, which I had previously considered (pūrvacintitam): having seen an inauspicious banner (amaṅgalyadhvajaṃ), I would not fight (na yudhyeyaṃ) by any means (kathaṃcana).
