महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-103, verse-51

देवव्रतः कृती भीष्मः प्रेक्षितेनापि निर्दहेत् ।
गम्यतां स वधोपायं प्रष्टुं सागरगासुतः ।
वक्तुमर्हति सत्यं स त्वया पृष्टो विशेषतः ॥५१॥
51. devavrataḥ kṛtī bhīṣmaḥ prekṣitenāpi nirdahet ,
gamyatāṁ sa vadhopāyaṁ praṣṭuṁ sāgaragāsutaḥ ,
vaktumarhati satyaṁ sa tvayā pṛṣṭo viśeṣataḥ.

api nirdhet gamyatām sa vadha-upāyam

51. Bhishma, the accomplished one who took a divine vow (devavrata), could burn his enemies even with a mere glance. Let us go to him, the son of the river Ganga (sāgaragāsuta), to ask about the means of his demise. He will certainly tell the truth, especially when asked by you.
