धृतराष्ट्र इति ख्यातः कृष्णद्वैपायनादपि ।
दीर्घबाहुर्महातेजाः प्रज्ञाचक्षुर्नराधिपः ।
मातुर्दोषादृषेः कोपादन्ध एव व्यजायत ॥७८॥

dīrghabāhurmahātejāḥ prajñācakṣurnarādhipaḥ ,
māturdoṣādṛṣeḥ kopādandha eva vyajāyata.

78. Dhṛtarāṣṭra, renowned from Kṛṣṇadvaipāyana (Vyāsa) himself, was long-armed, immensely powerful, and possessed wisdom as his eye, a lord of men. But due to his mother's fault and the sage's wrath, he was indeed born blind.

78. (ודע ש)דְהְרְטַרָאשְׁתְרַה, שליט האנשים ארך הזרועות ואדיר הזוהר, שתבונתו היא עיניו, נולד מקְרְשְׁנַה דְוַיפָּאיַנַה, והוא נולד עיוור מלידה בגלל פגם אמו ובגלל כעסו של החוזה.
