योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-128, verse-24

आनुलोम्यात्स्मृता सृष्टिः प्रातिलोम्येन संहृतिः ।
अतः स्थानत्रयं त्यक्त्वा तुरीयं पदमव्ययम् ॥ २४ ॥

24. Creation is understood to proceed in a direct sequence, and dissolution in a reverse sequence. Therefore, one should abandon the three (conventional) states (of consciousness) and seek the imperishable fourth state.
