बहुधा भव्ता प्रोक्तं जन्मकालात् शुभाशुभम् ।
श्रोतुमिच्छामि नारोणामङ्गचिह्नैः फल मुने ॥१॥
1. bahudhā bhavtā proktaṃ janmakālāt śubhāśubham .

1. O sage (muni), you have already explained the auspicious and inauspicious results from the time of birth in many ways. Now, I wish to hear about the results for women based on their bodily marks (aṅgacihna).
श‍ृणु विप्र प्रवक्ष्यामि नारीणामङ्गलक्षणम् ।
फलं यथाऽह पार्वत्यै भगवान् शङ्करस्तथा ॥२॥
2. śa‍ृṇu vipra pravakṣyāmi nārīṇāmaṅgalakṣaṇam .

2. O Brahmin, listen as I explain the bodily characteristics of women and their effects, just as Lord Śaṅkara described them to Pārvatī.
स्निग्धं पादतलं स्त्रीणां मृदुलं मांसलं समम् ।
रक्तमस्वेदमुष्णं च बहुभोगप्रदायकम् ॥३॥
3. snigdhaṃ pādatalaṃ strīṇāṃ mṛdulaṃ māṃsalaṃ samam .
raktamasvedamuṣṇaṃ ca bahubhogapradāyakam.

3. Soles of the feet of women that are smooth, soft, fleshy, even, reddish, sweatless, and warm bestow much enjoyment and prosperity.
विवर्णं पुरुषं रूक्षं खण्डितं विषमं तथा ।
सूर्पाकारञ्च शुष्कं च दुःखदौर्भाग्यदायकम् ॥४॥
4. vivarṇaṃ puruṣaṃ rūkṣaṃ khaṇḍitaṃ viṣamaṃ tathā .
sūrpākārañca śuṣkaṃ ca duḥkhadaurbhāgyadāyakam.
4. vivarṇam puruṣam rūkṣam khaṇḍitam viṣamam tathā
sūrpākāram ca śuṣkam ca duḥkhadaurbhāgyadāyakam
4. Conversely, soles of the feet that are discolored, coarse, rough, cracked, uneven, shaped like a winnowing basket, and dry cause sorrow and misfortune.
शङ्खस्वस्तिकचक्राऽब्जध्वजमीनाऽतपत्रवत् ।
यस्याः पादतले चिह्नं सा ज्ञेया क्षितिपाङ्गना ॥५॥
5. śaṅkhasvastikacakrā'bjadhvajamīnā'tapatravat .
yasyāḥ pādatale cihnaṃ sā jñeyā kṣitipāṅganā.

5. A woman on whose sole of the foot there are signs like a conch, a svastika, a discus, a lotus, a flag, a fish, or a parasol should be known as a queen.
भवेत् समस्तभोगाय तथा दीर्घोर्ध्वरेखिका ।
रेखाः सर्पाऽखुकाकाभा दुःखदारिद्र्यसूचिकाः ॥६॥
6. bhavet samastabhogāya tathā dīrghordhvarekhikā .

6. A long, upward-moving line indicates the enjoyment of all pleasures. Similarly, lines resembling snakes, rats, or crows are indicative of sorrow and poverty.
रक्ताः समुन्नताः स्निग्धा वृत्ताः पादनखाः शुभाः ।
स्फुटिताः कृष्णवर्णाश्च ज्ञेया अशुभसूचकाः ॥७॥
7. raktāḥ samunnatāḥ snigdhā vṛttāḥ pādanakhāḥ śubhāḥ .
sphuṭitāḥ kṛṣṇavarṇāśca jñeyā aśubhasūcakāḥ.

7. Toenails that are reddish, well-raised, smooth, and rounded are considered auspicious. Those that are cracked and black in color should be known as indicators of inauspiciousness.
उन्नतो मांसलोऽङ्गुष्ठो वर्तुलोऽतुलभोगदः ।
वक्रो ह्रस्वश्च चिपिटो दुःखदारिद्र्यसूचकः ॥८॥
8. unnato māṃsalo'ṅguṣṭho vartulo'tulabhogadaḥ .
vakro hrasvaśca cipiṭo duḥkhadāridryasūcakaḥ.
8. unnataḥ māṃsalaḥ aṅguṣṭhaḥ vartulaḥ atulabhogadaḥ

8. A thumb that is well-raised, fleshy, and rounded bestows immense enjoyment. Conversely, a crooked, short, and flat thumb indicates sorrow and poverty.
मृदवोऽङ्गुलयः शस्ता घना वृत्ताश्च मांसलाः ।
दीर्घाङ्गुलीभिः कुलटा कृशाभिर्धनवर्जिता ॥९॥
9. mṛdavo'ṅgulayaḥ śastā ghanā vṛttāśca māṃsalāḥ .
dīrghāṅgulībhiḥ kulaṭā kṛśābhirdhanavarjitā.

9. Fingers that are soft, thick, rounded, and fleshy are considered excellent. A woman with long fingers is said to be unchaste (kulaṭā), while one with thin fingers is devoid of wealth.
भवेद्ध्रस्वाभिरल्पायुर्विषमाभिश्च कुट्टनी ।
चिपटाभिर्भवेद्दासी विरलाभश्च निर्धना ॥१०॥
10. bhaveddhrasvābhiralpāyurviṣamābhiśca kuṭṭanī .
cipaṭābhirbhaveddāsī viralābhaśca nirdhanā.
10. bhavet hrasvābhiḥ alpāyuḥ viṣamābhiḥ ca kuṭṭanī
cipaṭābhiḥ bhavet dāsī viralābhiḥ ca nirdhanā
10. A woman becomes short-lived if her [fingers or toes are] short. She becomes a procuress if they are uneven. She becomes a servant if they are flat. And she will be poor if they are widely spaced.
यस्य मिथः समारूढाः पादाङ्गुल्यो भवन्ति हि ।
बहुनपि पतीन् हित्वा परप्रेष्या च सा भवेत् ॥११॥
11. yasya mithaḥ samārūḍhāḥ pādāṅgulyo bhavanti hi .
bahunapi patīn hitvā parapreṣyā ca sā bhavet.

hi bahūn api patīn hitvā para-preṣyā ca sā bhavet
11. Indeed, if a woman's toes are mutually overlapping, she will abandon many husbands and become a servant to others.
यस्या पथि चलन्त्याश्च रजो भूमेः समुच्छलेत् ।
सा पांसुली बह्वेन्नारी कुलत्रयविघातिनी ॥१२॥
12. yasyā pathi calantyāśca rajo bhūmeḥ samucchalet .
sā pāṃsulī bahvennārī kulatrayavighātinī.
12. yasyāḥ pathi calantyāḥ ca rajaḥ bhūmeḥ samucchalet
sā pāṃsulī bahvī nārī kula-traya-vighātinī
12. If, while a woman walks on the path, dust rises from the ground due to her, she is an unchaste woman and a destroyer of three families.
यस्याः कनिष्ठिका भूमिं गच्छन्त्या न परिस्पृशेत् ।
सा हि पूर्वपतिं हत्वा द्वितीयं कुरुते पतिम् ॥१३॥
13. yasyāḥ kaniṣṭhikā bhūmiṃ gacchantyā na parispṛśet .
sā hi pūrvapatiṃ hatvā dvitīyaṃ kurute patim.
13. yasyāḥ kaniṣṭhikā bhūmim gacchantyāḥ na parispṛśet
sā hi pūrva-patim hatvā dvitīyam kurute patim
13. If her little finger or toe does not touch the ground while she walks, she will indeed kill her first husband and take a second one.
मध्यमाऽनामिका चापि यस्या भूमिं न संस्पृशेत् ।
पतिहीना च सा नारी विज्ञेया द्विजसत्तम ॥१४॥
14. madhyamā'nāmikā cāpi yasyā bhūmiṃ na saṃspṛśet .
patihīnā ca sā nārī vijñeyā dvijasattama.
14. madhyamā anāmikā ca api yasyā bhūmim na saṃspṛśet
patihīnā ca sā nārī vijñeyā dvijasattama
14. O best among the twice-born (dvijasattama), a woman whose middle and ring fingers do not touch the ground should be understood as one who will be without a husband.
प्रदेशिनी भवेद्यस्या अंगुष्ठाद्व्यतिरेकिणी ।
कन्यैव दूषिता सा स्यात् कुलटा च तदग्रतः ॥१५॥
15. pradeśinī bhavedyasyā aṃguṣṭhādvyatirekiṇī .
kanyaiva dūṣitā sā syāt kulaṭā ca tadagrataḥ.
15. pradeśinī bhavet yasyā aṅguṣṭhāt vyatirekiṇī
kanyā eva dūṣitā sā syāt kulaṭā ca tat agrataḥ
15. If a girl's index finger is disproportionately long compared to her thumb, she is considered defiled; and subsequently, she becomes an unchaste woman (kulaṭā).
उन्नतं पादपृष्ठं चेत् तदा राज्ञी भवेद्ध्रुवम् ।
अस्वेदमशिराढ्यञ्च मांसलं मसृणं मृदु ॥१६॥
16. unnataṃ pādapṛṣṭhaṃ cet tadā rājñī bhaveddhruvam .
asvedamaśirāḍhyañca māṃsalaṃ masṛṇaṃ mṛdu.
16. unnatam pādapṛṣṭham cet tadā rājñī bhavet dhruvam
asvedam aśirāḍhyam ca māṃsalam masṛṇam mṛdu
16. If the instep (pādapṛṣṭha) of a woman's foot is raised, then she will certainly be a queen. Furthermore, the foot should be without sweat, free of prominent veins, fleshy, smooth, and soft.
अन्यथा धनहीना च शिरालं चेत्तदाऽध्वगा ।
रोमाढ्यं चेद् भवेद्दासी निर्मासं यदि दुर्भगा ॥१७॥
17. anyathā dhanahīnā ca śirālaṃ cettadā'dhvagā .
romāḍhyaṃ ced bhaveddāsī nirmāsaṃ yadi durbhagā.
17. anyathā dhanahīnā ca śirālam cet tadā adhvaga
romāḍhyam cet bhavet dāsī nirmāsam yadi durbhagā
17. Otherwise, she will be poor. If the foot is veiny, she becomes a wanderer. If it is hairy, she will be a maidservant (dāsī). If it is fleshless, she will be unfortunate (durbhagā).
सुभगा समपार्ष्णिः स्त्री पृथुपार्ष्णिश्च दुर्भगा ।
कुलटोन्नतपार्ष्णिश्च दीर्घपार्ष्णिश्च दुःखिता ॥१८॥
18. subhagā samapārṣṇiḥ strī pṛthupārṣṇiśca durbhagā .
kulaṭonnatapārṣṇiśca dīrghapārṣṇiśca duḥkhitā.
18. subhagā samapārṣṇiḥ strī pṛthupārṣṇiḥ ca durbhagā
kulaṭā unnatapārṣṇiḥ ca dīrghapārṣṇiḥ ca duḥkhitā
18. A woman with even heels is fortunate. However, one with broad heels is unfortunate. An unchaste woman, and one with raised heels, and one with long heels, are unhappy.
अरोमे च समे स्निग्धे यस्या जंघ सुवर्तुले ।
विसिरे च सुरम्ये सा राजपत्नी भवेद्ध्रुवम् ॥१९॥
19. arome ca same snigdhe yasyā jaṃgha suvartule .
visire ca suramye sā rājapatnī bhaveddhruvam.

19. She whose shanks are hairless, even, smooth, well-rounded, veinless, and very beautiful will certainly become a queen.
वर्तुलं मांसलं स्निग्धं जानुयुग्मं शुभप्रदम् ।
निर्मासं स्वैरचारिण्या निर्धनायाश्च विश्लथम् ॥२०॥
20. vartulaṃ māṃsalaṃ snigdhaṃ jānuyugmaṃ śubhapradam .
nirmāsaṃ svairacāriṇyā nirdhanāyāśca viślatham.
20. vartulaṃ māṃsalaṃ snigdhaṃ jānuyugmaṃ śubhapradaṃ
nirmāsaṃ svairacāriṇyā nirdhanāyāḥ ca viślatham
20. A rounded, fleshy, and smooth pair of knees is auspicious. In contrast, fleshless and loose knees are characteristic of a dissolute woman and a poor woman.
घनौ करिकराकारौ वर्तुलौ मृदुलौ शुभौ ।
यस्या ऊरू शिराहीनौ सा राज्ञी भवति ध्रुवम् ॥२१॥
21. ghanau karikarākārau vartulau mṛdulau śubhau .
yasyā ūrū śirāhīnau sā rājñī bhavati dhruvam.

yasyā ūrū śirāhīnau sā rājñī bhavati dhruvam
21. She whose thighs are thick, shaped like an elephant's trunk, rounded, soft, beautiful, and veinless, certainly becomes a queen.
चिपिटौ रोमशौ यस्या विधवा दुर्भगा च सा ।
चतुर्भिर्विशतियुतैरंगुलैश्च समा कटिः ।
समुन्नतनितम्बाढ्या प्रशस्ता स्यात् मृगीदृशाम् ॥२२॥
22. cipiṭau romaśau yasyā vidhavā durbhagā ca sā .
caturbhirviśatiyutairaṃgulaiśca samā kaṭiḥ .
samunnatanitambāḍhyā praśastā syāt mṛgīdṛśām.
22. cipiṭau romaśau yasyāḥ vidhavā
durbhagā ca sā caturbhiḥ viṃśati-yutaiḥ
aṅgulaiḥ ca samā kaṭiḥ
samunnatantambāḍhyā praśastā syāt mṛgī-dṛśām
22. If a woman's hips are flat and hairy, she will be a widow and unfortunate. However, a waist that measures twenty-four angulas and is adorned with prominent buttocks is considered excellent for women with deer-like eyes.
विनता चिपटा दीर्घा निर्मांसा संकटा कटिः ।
ह्रस्वा रोमैः समायुक्ता दुःखवैधव्यसूचिका ॥२३॥
23. vinatā cipaṭā dīrghā nirmāṃsā saṃkaṭā kaṭiḥ .
hrasvā romaiḥ samāyuktā duḥkhavaidhavyasūcikā.
23. vinatā cipaṭā dīrghā nirmāṃsā saṅkaṭā kaṭiḥ
hrasvā romaiḥ samāyuktā duḥkha-vaidhavya-sūcikā
23. A waist that is bent, flat, long, lean, narrow, short, and covered with hair indicates sorrow and widowhood.
नतिम्बः शुभदः स्त्रीणामुन्नतो मांसलः पृथुः ।
सुखसौभाग्यदः प्रोक्तो ज्ञेयो दुःखप्रदोऽन्यथा ॥२४॥
24. natimbaḥ śubhadaḥ strīṇāmunnato māṃsalaḥ pṛthuḥ .
sukhasaubhāgyadaḥ prokto jñeyo duḥkhaprado'nyathā.
24. nitambaḥ śubha-daḥ strīṇām unnataḥ māṃsalaḥ pṛthuḥ
sukha-saubhāgya-daḥ proktaḥ jñeyaḥ duḥkha-pradaḥ anyathā
24. For women, prominent, fleshy, and broad hips are considered auspicious, bringing happiness and good fortune. Otherwise, they are known to bring sorrow.
स्त्रीणां गूढमणिस्तुङ्गो रक्ताभो मृदुरोमकः ।
भगः कमठपृष्ठाभः शुभोऽश्वत्थगलाकृतिः ॥२५॥
25. strīṇāṃ gūḍhamaṇistuṅgo raktābho mṛduromakaḥ .
bhagaḥ kamaṭhapṛṣṭhābhaḥ śubho'śvatthagalākṛtiḥ.
25. strīṇām gūḍha-maṇiḥ tuṅgaḥ rakta-ābhaḥ mṛdu-romakaḥ
bhagaḥ kamaṭha-pṛṣṭha-ābhaḥ śubhaḥ aśvattha-gala-ākṛtiḥ
25. For women, an auspicious vulva (bhaga) has a prominent, reddish, and softly hairy clitoris (gūḍhamaṇi). Its overall shape resembles a turtle's back and the stalk of a pipal leaf.
कुरङ्गखुररूपो यश्चुल्लिकोदरसंनिभिः ।
रोमशो दृश्यनासश्च विवृत्तास्योऽशुभप्रदः ॥२६॥
26. kuraṅgakhurarūpo yaścullikodarasaṃnibhiḥ .
romaśo dṛśyanāsaśca vivṛttāsyo'śubhapradaḥ.
26. kuraṅgakhurarūpaḥ yaḥ cullikodarasannibhiḥ
romaśaḥ dṛśyanāsaḥ ca vivṛttāsyaḥ aśubhapradaḥ
26. One who has feet shaped like a deer's hoof, a belly resembling a hearth's depression, is very hairy, has a nose with visible veins, and an open mouth, is considered inauspicious.
वामोन्नतस्तु कन्याजः पुत्रोजो दक्षिणोन्नतः ।
शङ्खावर्तो भगो यस्याः सा विगर्भाऽङ्गना मता ॥२७॥
27. vāmonnatastu kanyājaḥ putrojo dakṣiṇonnataḥ .
śaṅkhāvarto bhago yasyāḥ sā vigarbhā'ṅganā matā.
27. vāmonnataḥ tu kanyājaḥ putrojaḥ dakṣiṇonnataḥ
śaṅkhāvartaḥ bhagaḥ yasyāḥ sā vigarbhā aṅganā matā
27. If the female genital area is elevated on the left side, it indicates daughters; if elevated on the right, it indicates sons. However, if a woman's vulva (bhaga) has a conch-like spiral, she is considered barren.
मृद्वी वस्तिः प्रशस्ता स्याद् विपुलाल्पसमुन्नता ।
रोमाढ्या च शिराला च रेखाङ्का न शुभप्रदा ॥२८॥
28. mṛdvī vastiḥ praśastā syād vipulālpasamunnatā .
romāḍhyā ca śirālā ca rekhāṅkā na śubhapradā.

28. A soft waist/pelvis is considered excellent if it is broad and slightly elevated. However, one that is very hairy, veiny, or marked with lines is not auspicious.
गम्भीरा दक्षिणावर्ता नाभिः सर्वसुखप्रदा ।
व्यक्तग्रन्थिः समुत्ताना वामावर्ता न शोभना ॥२९॥
29. gambhīrā dakṣiṇāvartā nābhiḥ sarvasukhapradā .
vyaktagranthiḥ samuttānā vāmāvartā na śobhanā.

vyaktagranthiḥ samuttānā vāmāvartā na śobhanā
29. A deep navel with a clockwise spiral bestows all happiness. One with a prominent knot, or which is shallow/raised, or has an anti-clockwise spiral, is not auspicious.
पृथुकुक्षिः शुभा नारी सूते सा च बहून् सुतान् ।
भूपतिं जनयेत् पुत्रं मण्डूकाभेन कुक्षिणा ॥३०॥
30. pṛthukukṣiḥ śubhā nārī sūte sā ca bahūn sutān .
bhūpatiṃ janayet putraṃ maṇḍūkābhena kukṣiṇā.
30. pṛthukukṣiḥ śubhā nārī sūte sā ca bahūn sutān
| bhūpatim janayet putram maṇḍūkābhena kukṣiṇā
30. If a woman has a broad abdomen, she is auspicious and gives birth to many sons. However, if she has a frog-like abdomen, she will give birth to a son who becomes a king.
उन्नतेन वलीभाजा सावर्तेन च कुक्षिणा ।
वन्ध्या संन्यासिनी दासी जायते क्रमदोऽबला ॥३१॥
31. unnatena valībhājā sāvartena ca kukṣiṇā .
vandhyā saṃnyāsinī dāsī jāyate kramado'balā.

vandhyā saṃnyāsinī dāsī jāyate kramadaḥ abalā
31. If a woman has a prominent abdomen, she becomes barren. If she has a wrinkled abdomen, she becomes a renunciate (saṃnyāsinī). And if her abdomen has a swirl-like mark, she becomes a maidservant; these outcomes occur successively for such women.
समे समांशे मृदुले पार्श्वे स्त्रीणां शुभप्रदे ।
उन्नते रोमसंयुक्ते शिराले चाऽशुभप्रदे ॥३२॥
32. same samāṃśe mṛdule pārśve strīṇāṃ śubhaprade .

32. For women, if the flanks (sides of the body) are even, symmetrical, and soft, they bestow auspiciousness. Conversely, if the flanks are prominent, hairy, and veiny, they bring inauspicious results.
निर्लोभं हृदयं स्त्रीणां समे सर्वसुखप्रदम् ।
विस्तीर्णं च सलोमं च विज्ञेयमशुभप्रदम् ॥३३॥
33. nirlobhaṃ hṛdayaṃ strīṇāṃ same sarvasukhapradam .
vistīrṇaṃ ca salomaṃ ca vijñeyamaśubhapradam.
33. nirlobham hṛdayam strīṇām same sarvasukhapradam
| vistīrṇam ca salomam ca vijñeyam aśubhpradam
33. For women, an even and ungreedy heart bestows all happiness. However, a heart that is broad and hairy should be understood as bringing inauspicious results.
समौ पीनौ घनौ वृत्तौ दृढौ शस्तौ पयोध्रौ ।
स्थूलाग्रौ विरलौ शुष्कौ स्त्रीणां नैव शुभप्रदौ ॥३४॥
34. samau pīnau ghanau vṛttau dṛḍhau śastau payodhrau .
sthūlāgrau viralau śuṣkau strīṇāṃ naiva śubhapradau.

34. Breasts that are symmetrical, plump, dense, round, firm, and auspicious are considered good. Conversely, breasts that have thick nipples, are sparse (or widely separated), or shriveled are certainly not conducive to good fortune for women.
दक्षिणोन्नतवक्षोजा नारी पुत्रवती मता ।
वामोन्नतस्तनी कन्याप्रजा प्रोक्ता पुरातनैः ॥३५॥

शिरालं रोमशं निम्नां दुखदारिद्र्यसूचकम् ॥४४॥

49. A line resembling a splendid diamond (prasādavajrābhā) on a woman's hand indicates she will give birth to a son who becomes a Tīrthaṅkara (tīrthakara). The wife of a farmer (kṛṣīvala) will have marks of a cart (śakaṭa) or a yoke (yuga).
चामराङ्कुशचापैश्च राजपत्नी पतिव्रता ।
त्रिशूलाऽसिगदाशक्तिदुन्दुभ्याकृतिरेखया ॥५०॥

अङ्गुष्ठमूलान्निर्गत्या रेखा याति कनिष्ठिकाम् ।
सा नारि पतिहन्त्री स्याद् दूरतस्तां परित्यजेत् ॥५१॥

काकमण्डूकजम्बूकवृकवृश्चिकभोगिनः ।
रासभोष्ट्रविडालाभा रेखा दुःखप्रदाः स्त्रियाः ॥५२॥
52. kākamaṇḍūkajambūkavṛkavṛścikabhoginaḥ .

52. Lines (rekhāḥ) that resemble a crow (kāka), a frog (maṇḍūka), a jackal (jambūka), a wolf (vṛka), a scorpion (vṛścika), a serpent (bhogin), a donkey (rāsabha), a camel (uṣṭra), or a cat (viḍāla) bring misery to women.
मृदुलाश्च सुपर्वाणो दीर्घा वृत्ताः क्रमात् कृशाः ।
अरोमकाः शुभाः स्त्रीणामङ्गुल्यः परिकीर्तिताः ॥५३॥

53. Fingers (aṅgulyaḥ) that are soft (mṛdulāḥ), possess good joints (suparvāṇaḥ), are long (dīrghāḥ), round (vṛttāḥ), gradually slender (kramāt kṛśāḥ), and hairless (aromakāḥ) are declared (parikīrtitāḥ) to be auspicious (śubhāḥ) for women (strīṇām).
अतिह्रस्वाः कृशा वक्रा विरला रोमसंयुताः ।
बहुपर्वयुता वाऽपि पर्वहीनाश्च दुःखदाः ॥५४॥

निम्ना विवर्णा पीता वा पुष्पिता दुःखदायकाः ॥५५॥

सशिरं रोमयुक्तं वा वक्रं चाऽशुभदायकम् ॥५६॥
56. antarnimagnavaṃśāsthi pṛṣṭhaṃ syānmāṃsalaṃ śubham .

मांसलो मृदुलैश्चैव प्रशस्तफलदायकाः ॥५७॥

रोमशौ पुरुषौ निम्नौ निर्मांसौ चाऽशुभप्रदौ ॥६१॥

सुस्निग्धं च मनोहारि सुखसौभाग्यसूचकम् ॥६२॥

मनोहरोऽधरो यस्याः सा भवेद् राजवल्लभा ॥६३॥
63. vartulaḥ pāṭalaḥ snigdhārekhābhūṣitamadhyabhūḥ .

किञ्चिन्मध्यौन्नतोऽरोमा सुखसौभाग्यगो भवेत् ॥६५॥

मांसलया धनैर्हीना लम्बयाऽभक्ष्यभक्षिणी ॥६९॥

69. By a white (tongue), there is death in water. By a dark (tongue), one is quarrelsome. By a fleshy (tongue), one is devoid of wealth. By a long (tongue), one consumes forbidden food.
प्रमादसहिता नारी जिह्वया च विशालया ।
सुस्निग्धं पाटलं स्त्रीणां कोमलं तालुशोभनम् ॥७०॥

स्मितं शुभप्रदं ज्ञेयमन्यथा त्वशुभप्रदम् ॥७२॥
72. alakṣitaradaṃ strīṇāṃ kiñcitphullakapolakam .

स्थूलाग्रा मध्यनिम्ना वा न प्रशस्ता मृगीदृशाम् ॥७३॥

गोक्षीरवर्णे विशदे सुस्निग्धे कृष्णपक्ष्मिणी ॥७५॥

पारावताक्षी दुःशीला गजाक्षी नैव शोभना ॥७७॥
77. puṃścalī vāmakāṇākṣī vandhyā dakṣiṇakāṇikā .

विरलैः कपिलैः स्थूलैर्भामिनी दुखभागिनी ॥७८॥

प्रलम्बो रोमशश्चैव प्रांशुश्च दुःखदः स्मृतः ॥८२॥

स्थूलो गीर्घोऽथवा वक्रो दुःखदौर्भाग्यसूचकः ॥८३॥
83. unnato gajakumbhābho vṛtto mūrdhā śubhaḥ striyāḥ .
sthūlo gīrgho'thavā vakro duḥkhadaurbhāgyasūcakaḥ.

पिङ्गलाः पुरुषा रूक्षा विरला लघवोऽशुभाः ॥८४॥
84. kuntalāḥ komalāḥ kṛṣṇāḥ sūkṣmā dīrghaśca śobhanā .

नारीलक्षणतश्चैवं नराणामपि चिन्तयेत् ॥८५॥
85. piṅgalā gauravarṇāyā śyāmāyāḥ śyāmalāḥ śubhāḥ .
