धनभावफलं वच्मि स्रृणु त्वं द्विजसत्तम ।
धनेशो धनभावस्थः केन्द्रकोणगतोऽपि वा ॥१॥
1. dhanabhāvaphalaṃ vacmi srṛṇu tvaṃ dvijasattama .
dhaneśo dhanabhāvasthaḥ kendrakoṇagato'pi vā.

1. O best among the twice-born (dvija), listen! I will now explain the results concerning the house of wealth (dhana bhāva). (This occurs) when the lord of wealth (dhaneśa) is situated in the house of wealth (dhana bhāva), or even if it is located in a quadrant (kendra) or a trine (koṇa).
धनवृद्धिकरो ज्ञेयस्त्रिकस्थो धनहानिकृत् ।
धनदश्च धने सौम्यः पापो धनविनाशकृत् ॥२॥
2. dhanavṛddhikaro jñeyastrikastho dhanahānikṛt .
dhanadaśca dhane saumyaḥ pāpo dhanavināśakṛt.

2. It should be understood that a planet which typically increases wealth, if situated in a *trika* house (6th, 8th, or 12th), causes a loss of wealth. Furthermore, a benefic planet in the second house (house of wealth) grants wealth, whereas a malefic planet causes the destruction of wealth.
धनाधिपो गुरुर्यस्य धनभावगतो भवेत् ।
भौमेन सहितो वाऽपि धनवान् स नरो भवेत् ॥३॥
3. dhanādhipo gururyasya dhanabhāvagato bhavet .
bhaumena sahito vā'pi dhanavān sa naro bhavet.
3. dhanādhipaḥ guruḥ yasya dhanabhāvagataḥ bhavet |
bhaumena sahitaḥ vā api dhanavān sa naraḥ bhavet
3. That person becomes wealthy if, for them, the lord of the house of wealth (dhanādhipaḥ) is situated in the house of wealth (the second house), or if Jupiter (guru) is located there, or if the lord of wealth is conjoined with Mars.
धनेशे लाभभावस्थे लाभेशे वा धनं गते ।
तावुभौ केन्द्रकोणस्थौ धनवान् स नरो भवेत् ॥४॥
4. dhaneśe lābhabhāvasthe lābheśe vā dhanaṃ gate .
tāvubhau kendrakoṇasthau dhanavān sa naro bhavet.

4. If the lord of the second house (dhaneśa) is situated in the eleventh house (house of gain), or if the lord of the eleventh house (lābheśa) is located in the second house, and both these lords are positioned in either angular (kendra) or trinal (koṇa) houses, then that person becomes wealthy.
धनेशे केन्द्रराशिस्थे लाभेशे तत्त्रिकोणगे ।
गुरुशुक्रयुते दृष्टे धनलाभमुदीरयेत् ॥५॥
5. dhaneśe kendrarāśisthe lābheśe tattrikoṇage .

5. If the lord of the second house (dhaneśa) is in an angular (kendra) house, and the lord of the eleventh house (lābheśa) is in a trinal (koṇa) house, and both are conjoined with or aspected by Jupiter (guru) and Venus (śukra), one should predict financial gain.
धनेशो रिपुभावस्थो लाभेशस्तद्गतो यदि ।
धनायौ पापयुक्तौ वा दृष्टौ निर्धन एव सः ॥६॥
6. dhaneśo ripubhāvastho lābheśastadgato yadi .
dhanāyau pāpayuktau vā dṛṣṭau nirdhana eva saḥ.
6. dhaneśaḥ ripubhāvasthaḥ lābheśaḥ tadgataḥ yadi |
dhanāyau pāpayuktau vā dṛṣṭau nirdhanaḥ eva saḥ
6. If the lord of the second house (dhaneśa) is situated in the sixth house (house of enemies), and the lord of the eleventh house (lābheśa) is also located in that same (sixth) house, OR if both the lords of wealth and gain (dhana and āya) are conjoined with or aspected by malefic planets, then that person is indeed poor.
धनलाभाधिपावस्तौ पापग्रहसमन्वितौ ।
जन्मप्रभृतिदारिद्रं भिक्षान्नं लभते नरः ॥७॥
7. dhanalābhādhipāvastau pāpagrahasamanvitau .
janmaprabhṛtidāridraṃ bhikṣānnaṃ labhate naraḥ.
7. dhanalābhādhipau astau pāpagrahasamanvitau
janmaprabhṛtidāridram bhikṣānnam labhate naraḥ
7. If the lords of the houses of wealth and gains are debilitated or combust and conjoined with malefic planets, a person will experience poverty from birth and subsist on alms.
षष्ठेऽष्टमे व्यये वाऽपि धनलाभाधिपौ यदि ।
लाभे कुजोधने राहू राजदण्डाद् धनक्षयः ॥८॥
8. ṣaṣṭhe'ṣṭame vyaye vā'pi dhanalābhādhipau yadi .
lābhe kujodhane rāhū rājadaṇḍād dhanakṣayaḥ.
8. ṣaṣṭhe aṣṭame vyaye vā api dhanalābhādhipau yadi
lābhe kujaḥ dhane rāhū rājadaṇḍāt dhanakṣayaḥ
8. If the lords of the houses of wealth and gains are situated in the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses, and if Mars is in the house of gains (11th) while Rahu is in the house of wealth (2nd), then there will be a loss of wealth due to royal or government punishment.
लाभे जीवे धने शुक्रे धनेशे शुभसंयुते ।
व्यये च शुभसंयुक्ते धर्मकार्ये धनव्ययः ॥९॥
9. lābhe jīve dhane śukre dhaneśe śubhasaṃyute .
vyaye ca śubhasaṃyukte dharmakārye dhanavyayaḥ.

9. If Jupiter is in the house of gains (11th) and Venus is in the house of wealth (2nd), and if the lord of wealth (2nd house) is conjoined with benefics, and the lord of the house of expenditure (12th) is also conjoined with benefics, then there will be an expenditure of wealth for religious (dharma) and virtuous activities.
स्वभोच्चस्थे धनाधीशे जातको जनपोषकः ।
परोपकारी ख्यातश्च विज्ञेयो द्विजसत्तम ॥१०॥
10. svabhoccasthe dhanādhīśe jātako janapoṣakaḥ .
paropakārī khyātaśca vijñeyo dvijasattama.
10. svabhoccatsthe dhanādhīśe jātakaḥ janapoṣakaḥ
paropakārī khyātaḥ ca vijñeyaḥ dvijasattama
10. O best among the twice-born (dvija), if the lord of wealth (2nd house) is situated in its own sign or its sign of exaltation, the native is known to be a benefactor of people, helpful to others, and renowned.
स्थिते पारावतांशादौ धनेशे शुभसंयुते ।
तद्गृहे सर्वसम्पत्तिर्विनाऽयासेन जायते ॥११॥
11. sthite pārāvatāṃśādau dhaneśe śubhasaṃyute .
tadgṛhe sarvasampattirvinā'yāsena jāyate.
11. sthite pārāvatāṃśādau dhaneśe śubhasaṃyute
tat gṛhe sarvasampattiḥ vinā āyāsena jāyate
11. When the lord of wealth (2nd house) is situated in a Pārāvatāṃśa (divisional chart) or similar auspicious divisional charts and is conjoined with benefics, all prosperity manifests in that person's household without any effort.
नेत्रेशे बलसंयुक्ते शोभनाक्षो भवेन्नरः ।
षष्ठाष्टमव्ययस्थे च नेत्रवैकल्यवान् भवेत् ॥१२॥
12. netreśe balasaṃyukte śobhanākṣo bhavennaraḥ .
ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayasthe ca netravaikalyavān bhavet.
12. netreśe balasaṃyukte śobhanākṣaḥ bhavet naraḥ
ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayasthe ca netravaikalyavān bhavet
12. If the lord of the eyes (netreśa) is strong, a person will have beautiful eyes. If it is situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house, however, the person will suffer from eye defects.
धनेशे पापसंयुक्ते धने पापसमन्विते ।
पिशुनोऽसत्यवादी च वातव्याधिसमन्वितः ॥१३॥
13. dhaneśe pāpasaṃyukte dhane pāpasamanvite .
piśuno'satyavādī ca vātavyādhisamanvitaḥ.

piśunaḥ asatyavādī ca vātavyādhisamanvitaḥ
13. If the lord of wealth (dhaneśa), which rules the second house, is associated with malefic planets, and the second house itself is occupied by malefic planets, the person will be a slanderer, a liar, and afflicted by diseases caused by an imbalance of the wind (vāta) humor.
