जायाभावफलं वक्ष्ये स्रृणु त्वं द्विजसत्तम ।
जायाधिपे स्वभे स्वोच्चे स्त्रीसुखं पूर्णमादिशेत् ॥१॥
1. jāyābhāvaphalaṃ vakṣye srṛṇu tvaṃ dvijasattama .
jāyādhipe svabhe svocce strīsukhaṃ pūrṇamādiśet.

1. O best among the twice-born (dvija), listen! I shall describe the results concerning the house of the spouse. If the lord of the seventh house is in its own sign or in its sign of exaltation, one should predict complete happiness from one's wife.
कलत्रपो विना स्वर्क्षं व्ययषष्ठाष्टमस्थितः ।
रोगिणीं कुरुते नारीं तथा तुङ्गादिकं विना ॥२॥
2. kalatrapo vinā svarkṣaṃ vyayaṣaṣṭhāṣṭamasthitaḥ .
rogiṇīṃ kurute nārīṃ tathā tuṅgādikaṃ vinā.

rogiṇīm kurute nārīm tathā tuṅgādikaṃ vinā
2. If the lord of the seventh house (kalatrapa) is situated in the twelfth, sixth, or eighth house, and is not in its own sign or its sign of exaltation, it causes the wife to be sickly.
सप्तमे तु स्थिते शुक्रेऽतीवकामी भवेन्नरः ।
यत्रकुत्रस्थिते पापयुते स्त्रीमरणं भवेत् ॥३॥
3. saptame tu sthite śukre'tīvakāmī bhavennaraḥ .
yatrakutrasthite pāpayute strīmaraṇaṃ bhavet.

3. Indeed, if Venus is situated in the seventh house, the man becomes very lustful. If, however, (the seventh lord or Venus is) situated anywhere and conjoined with a malefic, the death of the wife occurs.
जायाधीशः शुभैर्युक्तो दृष्टो वा बलसंयुतः ।
तदा जातो धनी मानी सुखसौभाग्यसंयुतः ॥४॥
4. jāyādhīśaḥ śubhairyukto dṛṣṭo vā balasaṃyutaḥ .
tadā jāto dhanī mānī sukhasaubhāgyasaṃyutaḥ.
4. jāyādhīśaḥ śubhaiḥ yuktaḥ dṛṣṭaḥ vā balasaṃyutaḥ

4. If the lord of the seventh house (jāyādhīśa) is conjoined with or aspected by benefic planets, or is endowed with strength, then the native will be wealthy, respected, and endowed with happiness and good fortune.
नीचे शत्रुगृहेऽस्ते वा निर्बले च कलत्रपे ।
तस्यापि रोगिणी भार्या बहुभार्यो नरो भवेत् ॥५॥
5. nīce śatrugṛhe'ste vā nirbale ca kalatrape .
tasyāpi rogiṇī bhāryā bahubhāryo naro bhavet.

5. If the lord of the seventh house is in its sign of debilitation, in an enemy's sign, or situated in the seventh house, or is otherwise weak, then his wife will be sickly, and the man will have many wives.
मन्दभे शुक्रगेहे वा जायाधीशे शुभेक्षिते ।
स्वोच्चगे तु विशेषेण बहुभार्यो नरो भवेत् ॥६॥
6. mandabhe śukragehe vā jāyādhīśe śubhekṣite .
svoccage tu viśeṣeṇa bahubhāryo naro bhavet.

6. If the lord of the seventh house is in a malefic's sign or in Venus's sign, and is aspected by benefics, or especially if it is in its own sign of exaltation, the man will have many wives.
वन्ध्यासङ्गो मदे भानौ चन्द्रे राशिसमस्त्रियः ।
कुजे रजस्वलासङ्गो वन्ध्यासङ्गश्च कीर्तितः ॥७॥
7. vandhyāsaṅgo made bhānau candre rāśisamastriyaḥ .
kuje rajasvalāsaṅgo vandhyāsaṅgaśca kīrtitaḥ.

7. If the Sun is in the seventh house, there will be association with a barren woman. If the Moon is in the seventh house, there will be a wife from a similar social standing or one belonging to the same zodiacal sign. If Mars is in the seventh house, association with a menstruating woman and also with a barren woman is declared.
बुधे वेश्या च हीना च वणिक् स्त्री वा प्रकीर्तिता ।
गुरौ ब्राह्मणभार्या स्याद्गर्भिणीसङ्ग एव च ॥८॥
8. budhe veśyā ca hīnā ca vaṇik strī vā prakīrtitā .
gurau brāhmaṇabhāryā syādgarbhiṇīsaṅga eva ca.

gurau brāhmaṇabhāryā syāt garbhiṇīsaṅgaḥ eva ca
8. If Mercury is in the seventh house, a prostitute, a low-class woman, or a merchant woman is declared (as a partner). If Jupiter is in the seventh house, there will be a Brahmin wife, and also association with a pregnant woman.
हीना च पुष्पिणी वाच्या मन्दराहुफणीश्वरैः ।
कुजेऽथ सुस्तनी मन्दे व्याधिदौर्बल्यसंयुता ॥९॥
9. hīnā ca puṣpiṇī vācyā mandarāhuphaṇīśvaraiḥ .
kuje'tha sustanī mande vyādhidaurbalyasaṃyutā.

9. If Saturn, Rahu, or Ketu are in the seventh house, a low-class woman or a menstruating woman is declared (as a partner). Furthermore, if Mars is in the seventh house, the wife will be well-breasted. If Saturn is (again) in the seventh house, she will be afflicted with disease and weakness.
कठिनोर्ध्वकुचार्ये च शुक्रे स्थूलोत्तमस्तनी ।
पापे द्वादशकामस्थे क्षीणचन्द्रस्तु पञ्चमे ॥१०॥
10. kaṭhinordhvakucārye ca śukre sthūlottamastanī .
pāpe dvādaśakāmasthe kṣīṇacandrastu pañcame.
10. kaṭhina-ūrdhva-kuca-cārye ca śukre sthūla-uttama-stanī
pāpe dvādaśa-kāma-sthe kṣīṇa-candraḥ tu pañcame
10. A woman is born with firm, uplifted, and beautiful breasts, and also excellent large breasts, when Venus (śukra) is in a particular condition, and when a malefic planet is in the 12th and 7th houses, and a waning Moon (kṣīṇacandra) is in the 5th house.
जातश्च भार्यावश्यः स्यादिति जातिविरोधकृत् ।
जामित्रे मन्दभौमे च तदीशे मन्दभूमिजे ॥११॥
11. jātaśca bhāryāvaśyaḥ syāditi jātivirodhakṛt .
jāmitre mandabhaume ca tadīśe mandabhūmije.
11. jātaḥ ca bhāryā-vaśyaḥ syāt iti jāti-virodha-kṛt
jāmitre manda-bhaume ca tad-īśe manda-bhūmije
11. The person born would be dominated by his wife, thereby causing discord in his family or social standing, if Saturn (śani) and Mars (maṅgala) are in the 7th house (jāmitra), and the lord of that 7th house (tadīśa) is also associated with Saturn and Mars.
वेश्या वा जारिणी वाऽपि तस्य भार्या न संशयः ।
भौमांशकगते शुक्रे भौमक्षेत्रगतेऽथवा ॥१२॥
12. veśyā vā jāriṇī vā'pi tasya bhāryā na saṃśayaḥ .
bhaumāṃśakagate śukre bhaumakṣetragate'thavā.
12. veśyā vā jāriṇī vā api tasya bhāryā na saṃśayaḥ
bhauma-aṃśaka-gate śukre bhauma-kṣetra-gate athavā
12. His wife will undoubtedly be either a prostitute or an adulteress, when Venus (śukra) is situated in a varga (divisional chart position) of Mars (maṅgala), or when it is situated in a sign (rāśi) of Mars (maṅgala).
भौमयुक्ते च दृष्टे वा भगचुम्बनभाग् भवेत् ।
मन्दांशकगते शुक्रे मन्दक्षेत्रगतेऽपि च ॥१३॥
13. bhaumayukte ca dṛṣṭe vā bhagacumbanabhāg bhavet .
mandāṃśakagate śukre mandakṣetragate'pi ca.
13. bhauma-yukte ca dṛṣṭe vā bhaga-cumbana-bhāg bhavet
manda-aṃśaka-gate śukre manda-kṣetra-gate api ca
13. He would be one who engages in kissing the female genitals if (Venus) is conjoined with or aspected by Mars (maṅgala). Also, when Venus (śukra) is in a varga (divisional chart position) of Saturn (śani), or situated in a sign (rāśi) of Saturn (śani)...
मन्दयुक्ते च दृष्टे च शिश्नचुम्बनतत्परः ।
दारेशे स्वोच्चराशिस्थे मदे शुभसमन्विते ॥१४॥
14. mandayukte ca dṛṣṭe ca śiśnacumbanatatparaḥ .
dāreśe svoccarāśisthe made śubhasamanvite.
14. manda-yukte ca dṛṣṭe ca śiśna-cumbana-tatparaḥ
dāra-īśe sva-ucca-rāśi-sthe made śubha-samanvite
14. And if (Venus) is conjoined with or aspected by Saturn (śani), he is intent on kissing the penis. When the lord of the 7th house (dāreśa) is situated in its own sign of exaltation, and (it) is associated with benefic planets in the 7th house (mada)...
लग्नेशो बलसंयुक्तः कलत्रस्थानसंयुतः ।
तद्भार्या सद्गुणोपेता पुत्रपौत्रप्रवर्धिनी ॥१५॥
15. lagneśo balasaṃyuktaḥ kalatrasthānasaṃyutaḥ .
tadbhāryā sadguṇopetā putrapautrapravardhinī.
15. lagn-īśaḥ bala-saṃyuktaḥ kalatra-sthāna-saṃyutaḥ
tat-bhāryā sadguṇa upetā putra-pautra-pravardhinī
15. If the lord of the ascendant (lagna) is strong and associated with the house of spouse (kalatra sthāna), then his wife will be endowed with good qualities and will promote the growth of sons and grandsons.
कलत्रे तत्पतौ वापि पापग्रहसमन्विते ।
भार्याहानिं वदेत् तस्य निर्बले च विशेषतः ॥१६॥
16. kalatre tatpatau vāpi pāpagrahasamanvite .
bhāryāhāniṃ vadet tasya nirbale ca viśeṣataḥ.
16. kalatre tat-patau vā api pāpa-graha-sam-anvite
bhāryā-hānim vadet tasya nirbale ca viśeṣataḥ
16. One should predict the loss of a wife for that person if the house of spouse (kalatra sthāna) or its lord is associated with a malefic planet, especially when it is weak.
षष्ठाष्टमव्ययस्थाने मन्देशो दुर्बलो यदि ।
नीचराशिगतो वापि दारनाशं विनिर्दिशेत् ॥१७॥
17. ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayasthāne mandeśo durbalo yadi .
nīcarāśigato vāpi dāranāśaṃ vinirdiśet.
17. ṣaṣṭha-aṣṭama-vyaya-sthāne manda-īśaḥ durbalaḥ
yadi nīca-rāśi-gataḥ vā api dāra-nāśam vinirdiśet
17. If the lord of the seventh house is weak and situated in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house, or even in its debilitation sign, one should predict the loss of a wife.
कलत्रस्थानगे चन्द्रे तदीशे व्ययराशिगे ।
कारको बलहीनश्च दारसौख्यं न विद्यते ॥१८॥
18. kalatrasthānage candre tadīśe vyayarāśige .
kārako balahīnaśca dārasaukhyaṃ na vidyate.
18. kalatra-sthāna-ge candre tat-īśe vyaya-rāśi-ge
kārakaḥ bala-hīnaḥ ca dāra-saukhyam na vidyate
18. If the Moon is situated in the house of spouse (kalatra sthāna), its lord (the seventh lord) is situated in the 12th house, and the significator (for marriage, i.e., Venus) is weak, then marital happiness will not exist.
सप्तमेशे स्वनीचस्थे पापर्क्षे पापसंयुते ।
सप्तमे क्लीवराश्यंशे द्विभार्यो जातको भवेत् ॥१९॥
19. saptameśe svanīcasthe pāparkṣe pāpasaṃyute .
saptame klīvarāśyaṃśe dvibhāryo jātako bhavet.
19. saptama-īśe sva-nīca-sthe pāpa-ṛkṣe pāpa-saṃyute
saptame klīva-rāśi-aṃśe dvi-bhāryaḥ jātakaḥ bhavet
19. If the lord of the seventh house is situated in its own debilitation sign, or in a malefic sign, or conjoined with a malefic planet, and if the seventh house is in a eunuch sign or navāṃśa, the native will have two wives.
कलत्र्स्थानगे भौमे शुक्रे जातमित्रगे शनौ ।
लग्नेशे रन्ध्रराशिस्थे कलत्रत्रयवान् भवेत् ॥२०॥
20. kalatrsthānage bhaume śukre jātamitrage śanau .
lagneśe randhrarāśisthe kalatratrayavān bhavet.
20. kalatra-sthānage bhaume śukre jātamitrage śanau
lagna-īśe randhra-rāśi-sthe kalatra-traya-vān bhavet
20. When Mars is in the house of spouse (7th house), Venus and Saturn are in the house of friends/gains (11th house), and the lord of the ascendant is in the house of weaknesses (8th house), then one will have three spouses.
द्विस्वभावगते शुक्रे स्वोच्चे तद्राशिनायके ।
दारेशे बलसंयुक्ते बहुदारसमन्वितः ॥२१॥
21. dvisvabhāvagate śukre svocce tadrāśināyake .
dāreśe balasaṃyukte bahudārasamanvitaḥ.
21. dvi-svabhāva-gate śukre sva-ucce tad-rāśi-nāyake
dāra-īśe bala-saṃyukte bahu-dāra-samanvitaḥ
21. When Venus is in a dual sign and exalted (in Pisces), and the lord of that sign (Jupiter) is strong, and the lord of the house of spouse (7th house) is endowed with strength, then one will be endowed with many spouses.
दारेशे शुभराशिस्थे स्वोच्चस्वर्क्षगतो भृगुः ।
पञ्चमे नवमेऽब्दे तु विवाहः प्रायशो भवेत् ॥२२॥
22. dāreśe śubharāśisthe svoccasvarkṣagato bhṛguḥ .
pañcame navame'bde tu vivāhaḥ prāyaśo bhavet.
22. dāra-īśe śubha-rāśi-sthe sva-ucca-sva-ṛkṣa-gataḥ
bhṛguḥ pañcame navame abde tu vivāhaḥ prāyaśaḥ bhavet
22. When the lord of the house of spouse (7th house) is in an auspicious sign, and Venus is in its own exaltation sign or own sign, then marriage will mostly happen in the fifth or ninth year (of age).
दारस्तानं गते सूर्ये तदीशे भृगुसंयुते ।
सप्तमैकादशे वर्षे विवाहः प्रायशो भवेत् ॥२३॥
23. dārastānaṃ gate sūrye tadīśe bhṛgusaṃyute .
saptamaikādaśe varṣe vivāhaḥ prāyaśo bhavet.
23. dāra-sthānam gate sūrye tad-īśe bhṛgu-saṃyute
saptama-ekādaśe varṣe vivāhaḥ prāyaśaḥ bhavet
23. When the Sun is in the house of spouse (7th house), and the lord of that house (7th house lord) is conjoined with Venus, then marriage will mostly happen in the seventh or eleventh year (of age).
कुटुम्बस्थानगे शुक्रे दारेशे लाभराशिगे ।
दशमे षोडशाऽब्दे च विवाहः प्रायशो भवेत् ॥२४॥
24. kuṭumbasthānage śukre dāreśe lābharāśige .
daśame ṣoḍaśā'bde ca vivāhaḥ prāyaśo bhavet.
24. kuṭumba-sthānage śukre dāra-īśe lābha-rāśi-ge
daśame ṣoḍaśa-abde ca vivāhaḥ prāyaśaḥ bhavet
24. When Venus is in the house of family/wealth (2nd house), and the lord of the house of spouse (7th house) is in the house of gains (11th house), then marriage will mostly happen in the tenth or sixteenth year (of age).
लग्नकेन्द्रगते शुक्रे लग्नेशे मन्दराशिगे ।
वत्सरैकादशे प्राप्ते विवाहं लभते नरः ॥२५॥
25. lagnakendragate śukre lagneśe mandarāśige .
vatsaraikādaśe prāpte vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
25. lagna-kendra-gate śukre lagneśe manda-rāśi-ge
vatsaraikādaśe prāpte vivāham labhate naraḥ
25. When Venus is in an angular house (kendra) from the ascendant (lagna), and the lord of the ascendant is situated in a sign of Saturn, a person obtains marriage upon reaching the eleventh year.
लग्नात् केन्द्रगते शुक्रे तस्मात् कामगते शनौ ।
द्वादशैकोनविंशे च विवाहः प्रायशो भवेत् ॥२६॥
26. lagnāt kendragate śukre tasmāt kāmagate śanau .
dvādaśaikonaviṃśe ca vivāhaḥ prāyaśo bhavet.
26. lagnāt kendra-gate śukre tasmāt kāma-gate śanau
dvādaśaika-ūnavimśe ca vivāhaḥ prāyaśaḥ bhavet
26. When Venus is in an angular house (kendra) from the ascendant (lagna), and Saturn is in the house of marriage (kāma) from that Venus, a marriage usually occurs in the twelfth or nineteenth year.
चन्द्राज्जामित्रगे शुक्रे शुक्राज्जामित्रगे शनौ ।
वत्सरेऽष्टादशे प्राप्ते विवाहं लभते नरः ॥२७॥
27. candrājjāmitrage śukre śukrājjāmitrage śanau .
vatsare'ṣṭādaśe prāpte vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
27. candrāt jāmitra-ge śukre śukrāt jāmitra-ge śanau
vatsare aṣṭādaśe prāpte vivāham labhate naraḥ
27. When Venus is in the seventh house (jāmitra) from the Moon, and Saturn is in the seventh house (jāmitra) from Venus, a person obtains marriage upon reaching the eighteenth year.
धनेशे लाभराशिस्थे लग्नेशे कर्मराशिगे ।
अब्दे पञ्चदशे प्राप्ते विवाहं लभते नरः ॥२८॥
28. dhaneśe lābharāśisthe lagneśe karmarāśige .
abde pañcadaśe prāpte vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
28. dhaneśe lābha-rāśi-sthe lagneśe karma-rāśi-ge
abde pañcadaśe prāpte vivāham labhate naraḥ
28. When the lord of the second house (dhanesha) is situated in the eleventh house (labha rāśi), and the lord of the ascendant (lagneśa) is in the tenth house (karma rāśi), a person obtains marriage upon reaching the fifteenth year.
धनेशे लाभराशिश्ते लाभेशे धनराशिगे ।
अब्दे त्रयोदशे प्राप्ते विवाहं लभते नरः ॥२९॥
29. dhaneśe lābharāśiśte lābheśe dhanarāśige .
abde trayodaśe prāpte vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
29. dhaneśe lābha-rāśi-śte lābheśe dhana-rāśi-ge
abde trayodaśe prāpte vivāham labhate naraḥ
29. When the lord of the second house (dhanesha) is situated in the eleventh house (labha rāśi), and the lord of the eleventh house (labheśa) is in the second house (dhana rāśi), a person obtains marriage upon reaching the thirteenth year.
रन्ध्राज्जामित्रगे शुक्रे तदीशे भौमसंयुते ।
द्वाविंशे सप्तविंशेऽब्दे विवाहं लभते नरः ॥३०॥
30. randhrājjāmitrage śukre tadīśe bhaumasaṃyute .
dvāviṃśe saptaviṃśe'bde vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
30. randhrāt jāmitrage śukre tadīśe bhaumasaṃyute
dvāviṃśe saptaviṃśe abde vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ
30. When Venus is located in the seventh house counted from the eighth house (i.e., in the second house from the ascendant), and the lord of that house (the second house lord) is conjoined with Mars, a person obtains marriage in their twenty-second or twenty-seventh year.
दारांशकगते लग्ननाथे दारेश्वरे व्यये ।
त्रयोविंशे च षड्विंशे विवाहं लभते नरः ॥३१॥
31. dārāṃśakagate lagnanāthe dāreśvare vyaye .
trayoviṃśe ca ṣaḍviṃśe vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
31. dārāṃśakagate lagnanāthe dāreśvare vyaye
trayoviṃśe ca ṣaḍviṃśe vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ
31. When the lord of the ascendant is in the navāṃśa of the seventh house, and the lord of the seventh house is in the twelfth house, a person obtains marriage in their twenty-third or twenty-sixth year.
रन्ध्रेशे दारराशिस्थे लग्नांशे भृगुसंयुते ।
पञ्चविंशे त्रयस्त्रिंशे विवाहं लभते नरः ॥३२॥
32. randhreśe dārarāśisthe lagnāṃśe bhṛgusaṃyute .
pañcaviṃśe trayastriṃśe vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
32. randhreśe dārarāśisthe lagnāṃśe bhṛgusaṃyute
pañcaviṃśe trayastriṃśe vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ
32. When the lord of the eighth house is located in the sign of the seventh house, and the ascendant navāṃśa is conjoined with Venus, a person obtains marriage in their twenty-fifth or thirty-third year.
भाग्याद्भाग्यगते शुक्रे तद्द्वये राहुसंयुते ।
एकत्रिंशास्त्रयस्त्रिंशे दारलाभं विनिर्दिशेत् ॥३३॥
33. bhāgyādbhāgyagate śukre taddvaye rāhusaṃyute .
ekatriṃśāstrayastriṃśe dāralābhaṃ vinirdiśet.
33. bhāgyāt bhāgyagate śukre tad-dvaye rāhusaṃyute
ekatriṃśāt trayastriṃśe dāralābhaṃ vinirdiśet
33. When Venus is in the ninth house counted from the ninth house (i.e., in the fifth house from the ascendant), and the lords of both the ninth house and the fifth house are conjoined with Rāhu, one should predict the acquisition of a wife (marriage) in the thirty-first or thirty-third year.
भाग्याज्जामित्रगे शुक्रे तद्द्वूने दारनायके ।
त्रिंशे वा सप्तविंशाब्दे विवाहं लभते नरः ॥३४॥
34. bhāgyājjāmitrage śukre taddvūne dāranāyake .
triṃśe vā saptaviṃśābde vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ.
34. bhāgyāt jāmitrage śukre tad-dvūne dāranāyake
triṃśe vā saptaviṃśābde vivāhaṃ labhate naraḥ

38. If Venus (Śukra) is situated in the eighth house (randhra sthāna), and its lord (the lord of the eighth house) is in a sign owned by Saturn (Sauri), one should predict the loss of the spouse in the twelfth or nineteenth year.

40. When the Moon is in the seventh house from Venus, and Mercury is in the seventh house from the Moon, and the lord of the eighth house (randhra) is situated in the fifth house (sutabhāva), the first marriage occurs in the tenth year of life.

विवाहं लभते मर्त्यो नाऽत्र कार्या विचारणा ॥४१॥

41. And the second marriage occurs in the twenty-second year, and the third in the thirty-third year. A person obtains these marriages; there should be no doubt about this.

अष्टमे च यदा सौरिस्तस्य भार्या न जीवति ॥४२॥

42. When Mars (bhauma) is in the sixth house, Rahu (rāhu) is situated in the seventh house, and Saturn (sauri) is in the eighth house, his wife does not live long (i.e., dies).
