अथाऽतः सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि धनयोगं विशेषतः ।
यस्मिन् योगे समुत्पन्नो निश्चितो धनवान् भवेत् ॥१॥
1. athā'taḥ sampravakṣyāmi dhanayogaṃ viśeṣataḥ .

1. Now, therefore, I shall fully explain the combinations (yogas) for wealth, particularly those by which a person, if born in such a combination, will certainly become wealthy.
पण्चमे भृगुजक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् शुक्रेण संयुते ।
लाभे भौमेन संयुक्ते बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥२॥
2. paṇcame bhṛgujakṣetre tasmin śukreṇa saṃyute .
lābhe bhaumena saṃyukte bahudravyasya nāyakaḥ.

2. If the fifth house is a sign ruled by Venus and is conjoined with Venus, and the eleventh house is conjoined with Mars, the native will be a master of great wealth.
पंचमे तु बुधक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् बुधयुतो सति ।
चन्द्रे भौमे गुरौ लाभे बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥३॥
3. paṃcame tu budhakṣetre tasmin budhayuto sati .
candre bhaume gurau lābhe bahudravyasya nāyakaḥ.

3. If the fifth house is a sign ruled by Mercury and is conjoined with Mercury, and if the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter are in the eleventh house, the native will be a master of great wealth.
पण्चमे च रविक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् रवियुते सति ।
लाभे शनीन्दुजीवाढ्ये बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥४॥
4. paṇcame ca ravikṣetre tasmin raviyute sati .
lābhe śanīndujīvāḍhye bahudravyasya nāyakaḥ.

4. And if the fifth house is a sign ruled by the Sun and is conjoined with the Sun, and the eleventh house is endowed with Saturn, the Moon, and Jupiter, the native will be a master of great wealth.
पंचमे तु शनिक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् शनियुते सति ।
लाभे रवीन्दुसंयुक्ते बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥५॥

5. But if the fifth house is a sign ruled by Saturn and is conjoined with Saturn, and the eleventh house is conjoined with the Sun and the Moon, the native will be a master of great wealth.
पंचमे तु गुरुक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् गुरुयुते सति ।
लाभे चन्द्रसुते जातो बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥६॥
6. paṃcame tu gurukṣetre tasmin guruyute sati .
lābhe candrasute jāto bahudravyasya nāyakaḥ.

6. But if the fifth house is a sign ruled by Jupiter and is conjoined with Jupiter, and Mercury (the son of the Moon) is situated in the eleventh house, the native will be a master of great wealth.
पंचमे तु कुजक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् कुजयुते सति ।
लाभस्थे भृगुपुत्रे तु बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥७॥
7. paṃcame tu kujakṣetre tasmin kujayute sati .

7. If the fifth house is a sign of Mars, and Mars is conjoined with it, and furthermore, if Venus is situated in the eleventh house (the house of gain), then the person born will be a leader of great wealth.
पंचमे तु शशिक्षेत्रे तस्मिन् शशियुते सति ।
शनौ लाभस्थिते जातो बहुद्रव्यस्य नायकः ॥८॥
8. paṃcame tu śaśikṣetre tasmin śaśiyute sati .
śanau lābhasthite jāto bahudravyasya nāyakaḥ.

8. If the fifth house is a sign of the Moon, and the Moon is conjoined with it, and furthermore, if Saturn is situated in the eleventh house (the house of gain), then the person born will be a leader of great wealth.
भानुक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् भानुयुते पुनः ।
भौमेन गुरुणा युक्ते दृष्टे जातो युतो धनैः ॥९॥
9. bhānukṣetragate lagne tasmin bhānuyute punaḥ .
bhaumena guruṇā yukte dṛṣṭe jāto yuto dhanaiḥ.

9. If the ascendant (lagna) is in a sign ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is conjoined with it, and furthermore, if it is conjoined with or aspected by Mars and Jupiter, the person born will be endowed with wealth.
चन्द्रक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् चन्द्रयुते सति ।
बुधेन गुरुणा युक्ते दृष्टे जातो धनी भवेत् ॥१०॥
10. candrakṣetragate lagne tasmin candrayute sati .

10. If the ascendant (lagna) is in a sign ruled by the Moon, and the Moon is conjoined with it, and furthermore, if it is conjoined with or aspected by Mercury and Jupiter, the person born will become wealthy.
भौमक्षेत्रे गते लग्ने तस्मिन् भौमेन संयुते ।
सौम्यशुक्रार्कजैर्युक्ते दृष्टे श्रीमान्नरो भवेत् ॥११॥
11. bhaumakṣetre gate lagne tasmin bhaumena saṃyute .
saumyaśukrārkajairyukte dṛṣṭe śrīmānnaro bhavet.

saumyaśukrārkajaiḥ yukte dṛṣṭe śrīmān naraḥ bhavet
11. If the ascendant (lagna) is in a sign ruled by Mars, and Mars is conjoined with it, and furthermore, if it is conjoined with or aspected by Mercury, Venus, and Saturn, the person born will become a prosperous man.
बुधक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् बुधयुते सति ।
शनिजीवयुते दृष्टे जातो धनयुतो भवेत् ॥१२॥
12. budhakṣetragate lagne tasmin budhayute sati .
śanijīvayute dṛṣṭe jāto dhanayuto bhavet.

12. If the ascendant (lagna) is situated in a sign owned by Mercury, and that ascendant is conjoined with Mercury, and it is aspected by Saturn and Jupiter, then the person born will become endowed with wealth.
गुरुक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् गुरुयुते सति ।
बुधभौमयुते दृष्टे जायते धनवान्नरः ॥१३॥
13. gurukṣetragate lagne tasmin guruyute sati .
budhabhaumayute dṛṣṭe jāyate dhanavānnaraḥ.

13. If the ascendant (lagna) is situated in a sign owned by Jupiter, and that ascendant is conjoined with Jupiter, and it is aspected by Mercury and Mars, then a wealthy person will be born.
भृगुक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् भृगुयुते सति ।
शनिसौम्ययुते दृष्टे यो जातः स धनी भवेत् ॥१४॥
14. bhṛgukṣetragate lagne tasmin bhṛguyute sati .
śanisaumyayute dṛṣṭe yo jātaḥ sa dhanī bhavet.

14. If the ascendant (lagna) is situated in a sign owned by Venus (Bhṛgu), and that ascendant is conjoined with Venus, and it is aspected by Saturn and Mercury, then the person born will become wealthy.
शनिक्षेत्रगते लग्ने तस्मिन् शनियुते सति ।
भौमेन गुरुणा युक्ते दृष्टे जातो धनैर्युतः ॥१५॥
15. śanikṣetragate lagne tasmin śaniyute sati .
bhaumena guruṇā yukte dṛṣṭe jāto dhanairyutaḥ.

15. If the ascendant (lagna) is situated in a sign owned by Saturn, and that ascendant is conjoined with Saturn, and it is conjoined with Mars and Jupiter, and aspected, then the person born will be endowed with wealth.
धनदौ धर्मधीनाथौ ये वा ताभ्यां युता ग्रहाः ।
तेऽपि स्वस्वदशाकाले धनदा नाऽत्र संशयः ॥१६॥
16. dhanadau dharmadhīnāthau ye vā tābhyāṃ yutā grahāḥ .
te'pi svasvadaśākāle dhanadā nā'tra saṃśayaḥ.
16. dhanadau dharmadhīnāthau ye vā tābhyām yutāḥ grahāḥ
te api svasvadaśākāle dhanadāḥ na atra saṃśayaḥ
16. The lords of the second house (representing wealth) and the ninth house (representing fortune or natural law (dharma)), or any planets conjoined with these two, certainly bestow wealth during their own planetary periods (daśā kāla). There is no doubt about this.
ग्रहाणामुक्तयोगेषु क्रूरसौम्यविभागतः ।
बलाबलविवेकेन फलमूह्यं विचक्षणैः ॥१७॥
17. grahāṇāmuktayogeṣu krūrasaumyavibhāgataḥ .
balābalavivekena phalamūhyaṃ vicakṣaṇaiḥ.
17. grahāṇām ukta yogeṣu krūrasaumyavibhāgataḥ
balābalavivekena phalam ūhyam vicakṣaṇaiḥ
17. From the stated combinations (yoga) of planets, results should be inferred by the wise, considering the classification into malefic and benefic planets and by discerning their strengths and weaknesses.
केन्द्रेशः पारिजातस्थस्तदा दाता भवेन्नरः ।
उत्तमे ह्युत्तमो दाता गोपुरे पुरुषत्वयुक् ॥१८॥
18. kendreśaḥ pārijātasthastadā dātā bhavennaraḥ .
uttame hyuttamo dātā gopure puruṣatvayuk.
18. kendreśaḥ pārijāta-sthaḥ tadā dātā bhavet naraḥ
uttame hi uttamaḥ dātā gopure puruṣatva-yuk
18. If the lord of an angle house (kendra) is situated in the Pārijāta (divisional chart condition), then the person (nara) becomes a giver. If indeed in the Uttama (divisional chart condition), he becomes an excellent giver. In the Gopura (divisional chart condition), he is endowed with manliness (puruṣatva).
सिंहासने भवेन्मान्यः शूरः पारावतांशके ।
सभाध्यक्षो देवलोके ब्रह्मलोके मुनिर्मत ।
ऐरावतांशके तृष्टो दिग्योगो नैव जायते ॥१९॥
19. siṃhāsane bhavenmānyaḥ śūraḥ pārāvatāṃśake .
sabhādhyakṣo devaloke brahmaloke munirmata .
airāvatāṃśake tṛṣṭo digyogo naiva jāyate.
19. siṃhāsane bhavet mānyaḥ śūraḥ
pārāvatāṃśake sabhādhyakṣaḥ devaloke
brahmaloke muniḥ mataḥ airāvatāṃśake
tuṣṭaḥ digyogaḥ na eva jāyate
19. In the Siṃhāsana (divisional chart condition), one becomes respected and brave. In the Pārāvata (divisional chart condition), one becomes the president of an assembly. In the world of the gods (Devaloka) and the world of Brahmā (Brahmaloka), one is considered a sage (muni). In the Airāvata (divisional chart condition), one is content, and no directional combination (dikyoga) occurs.
पारिजाते सुताधीशे विद्या चैव कुलोचिता ।
उत्तमे चोत्तमा ज्ञेया गोपुरे भुवनांकिता ॥२०॥
20. pārijāte sutādhīśe vidyā caiva kulocitā .
uttame cottamā jñeyā gopure bhuvanāṃkitā.
20. pārijāte suta-adhīśe vidyā ca eva kula-ucitā
uttame ca uttamā jñeyā gopure bhuvana-aṅkitā
20. When the lord of the 5th house (suta) is in the Pārijāta (divisional chart condition), the person possesses knowledge indeed suitable for their family. In the Uttama (divisional chart condition), excellent knowledge should be known. And in the Gopura (divisional chart condition), the knowledge is renowned throughout the world.
सिंहासने तथा वाच्या साचिव्येन समन्विता ।
पारावते च विज्ञेया ब्रह्मविद्या द्विजोत्तम ॥२१॥
21. siṃhāsane tathā vācyā sācivyena samanvitā .
pārāvate ca vijñeyā brahmavidyā dvijottama.
21. siṃhāsane tathā vācyā sācivyena samanvitā
pārāvate ca vijñeyā brahma-vidyā dvija-uttama
21. Similarly, in the Siṃhāsana (divisional chart condition), knowledge associated with ministerial duties should be predicted. And, O best of the twice-born, in the Pārāvata (divisional chart condition), the knowledge of (brahman) should be known.
सुतेशे देवलोकस्थे कर्मयोगश्च जायते ।
उपासना ब्रह्मलोके भक्तिस्त्वरावतांशके ॥२२॥
22. suteśe devalokasthe karmayogaśca jāyate .
upāsanā brahmaloke bhaktistvarāvatāṃśake.

upāsanā brahmaloke bhaktiḥ tvarāvatāṃśake
22. When the lord of the fifth house (suteśa) is situated in the divine realm (devaloka), the path of action (karma yoga) manifests. Worship (upāsanā) occurs in Brahmaloka, and devotion (bhakti) arises in the Tvarāvatāṃśa division.
धर्मेशे पारिजातस्थे तीर्थकृत्त्वत्र जन्मनि ।
पूर्वजन्मन्यपि ज्ञेयस्तीर्थकृच्चोत्तमांशके ॥२३॥
23. dharmeśe pārijātasthe tīrthakṛttvatra janmani .
pūrvajanmanyapi jñeyastīrthakṛccottamāṃśake.
23. dharmeśe pārijātasthe tīrthakṛt tu atra janmani
pūrvajanmani api jñeyaḥ tīrthakṛt ca uttamāṃśake
23. When the lord of the ninth house (dharma) is situated in the Pārijāta division, the native becomes a pilgrim (tīrthakṛt) in this birth. It should also be understood that such a person was a pilgrim (tīrthakṛt) in a previous birth if they are also in the Uttamāṃśa (best division).
गौपुरे मखकर्ता च परे चैवाऽत्र जन्मनि ।
सिंहासने भवेद्वीरः सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रियः ॥२४॥
24. gaupure makhakartā ca pare caivā'tra janmani .
siṃhāsane bhavedvīraḥ satyavādī jitendriyaḥ.
24. gaupure makha-kartā ca pare ca eva atra janmani
siṃhāsane bhavet vīraḥ satyavādī jitendriyaḥ
24. When a planet is in the Gaupura division, the native performs Vedic rituals (yajña) both in this life and in others. When in the Siṃhāsana division, they become a brave person, a truth-speaker, and one who has conquered their senses (jitendriya).
सर्वधर्मान् परित्यज्य ब्रह्मैकपदमाश्रितः ।
पारवते च परमो हंअश्चैवात्र जन्मनि ॥२५॥
25. sarvadharmān parityajya brahmaikapadamāśritaḥ .
pāravate ca paramo haṃaścaivātra janmani.
25. sarvadharmān parityajya brahma-ekapadam āśritaḥ
pāravate ca paramaḥ haṃsaḥ ca eva atra janmani
25. Having abandoned all prescribed duties (dharma), one resorts to the sole state of Brahman. And in the Pāravata division, the native becomes a supreme, liberated soul (haṃsa) in this very birth.
लगुडी वा त्रिदण्डी स्याद्देवलोके न संशयः ।
ब्रह्मलोके शक्रतदं याति कृत्वाऽश्वमेधकम् ॥२६॥
26. laguḍī vā tridaṇḍī syāddevaloke na saṃśayaḥ .
brahmaloke śakratadaṃ yāti kṛtvā'śvamedhakam.
26. laguḍī vā tri-daṇḍī syāt deva-loke na saṃśayaḥ
brahma-loke śakra-tadaṃ yāti kṛtvā aśva-medhakam
26. deva-loke laguḍī vā tri-daṇḍī syāt,
na saṃśayaḥ aśva-medhakam kṛtvā (saḥ) brahma-loke śakra-tadaṃ yāti
26. One will certainly become either a staff-bearer or a triple-staffed ascetic in the realm of the gods. Having performed the Aśvamedha Vedic ritual (yajña), one attains the realm of Brahma and the status of Indra.
ऐरावते तु धर्मात्मा स्वयं धर्मो भविष्यति ।
श्रीरामः कुन्तिपुत्राद्यो यथा जातो द्विजोत्तम ॥२७॥
27. airāvate tu dharmātmā svayaṃ dharmo bhaviṣyati .
śrīrāmaḥ kuntiputrādyo yathā jāto dvijottama.
27. airāvate tu dharmātmā svayam dharmaḥ bhaviṣyati
śrīrāmaḥ kuntiputrādiḥ yathā jātaḥ dvijottamaḥ
27. In the Airāvata yoga, a righteous soul (dharmātmā) will be born, who himself will embody righteousness (dharma). This is just as Śrī Rāma and preeminent figures like the sons of Kuntī were born as the best among the twice-born (dvijottama).
विष्णुस्थानं च केन्द्रं स्याल्लक्ष्मीस्थानं त्रिकोणकम् ।
तदीशयोश्च सम्बन्धाद्राजयोगः पुरोदितः ॥२८॥
28. viṣṇusthānaṃ ca kendraṃ syāllakṣmīsthānaṃ trikoṇakam .
tadīśayośca sambandhādrājayogaḥ puroditaḥ.
28. viṣṇusthānaṃ ca kendram syāt lakṣmīsthānaṃ trikoṇakam
tat īśayoḥ ca sambandhāt rājayogaḥ puroditaḥ
28. The houses of Viṣṇu are the quadrants (kendram), and the houses of Lakṣmī are the trines (trikoṇakam). From the connection of their respective lords, a Rājayoga is declared.
पारिजाते स्थितौ तौ चेन्नृपो लोकानुरक्षकः ।
उत्तमे चोत्तमो भूपो गजवाजिरथादिमान् ॥२९॥
29. pārijāte sthitau tau cennṛpo lokānurakṣakaḥ .
uttame cottamo bhūpo gajavājirathādimān.
29. pārijāte sthitau tau cet nṛpaḥ lokānurakṣakaḥ
uttame ca uttamaḥ bhūpaḥ gajavājirathādimān
29. If those two (lords) are situated in the Pārijāta yoga, the king (nṛpa) will be a protector of the people. And if they are in the Uttama yoga, the king (bhūpa) will be most excellent, endowed with elephants, horses, chariots, and so forth.
गोपुरे नृपशार्दूलः पूजितांध्रिर्नृपैर्भवेत् ।
सिंहासने चक्रवर्ती सर्वभूमिप्रपालकः ॥३०॥
30. gopure nṛpaśārdūlaḥ pūjitāṃdhrirnṛpairbhavet .
siṃhāsane cakravartī sarvabhūmiprapālakaḥ.
30. gopure nṛpaśārdūlaḥ pūjitāṅghriḥ nṛpaiḥ bhavet
siṃhāsane cakravartī sarvabhūmiprapālakaḥ
30. In the Gopura yoga, one becomes a lion among kings (nṛpaśārdūla), whose feet are worshipped by other kings. In the Siṃhāsana yoga, one becomes a universal emperor (cakravartī) and a protector of all lands.
अस्मिन् योगे हरिश्चन्द्रो मनुश्चैवोत्तमस्तथा ।
बलिर्वैश्वानरो जातस्तथान्ये चक्रवर्तिनः ॥३१॥
31. asmin yoge hariścandro manuścaivottamastathā .
balirvaiśvānaro jātastathānye cakravartinaḥ.
31. asmin yoge hariścandraḥ manuḥ ca eva uttamaḥ tathā
baliḥ vaiśvānaraḥ jātaḥ tathā anye cakravartinaḥ
31. In this yoga, figures like Hariścandra, Manu, and Uttama were born. Similarly, Bali, Vaiśvānara, and other universal emperors (cakravartin) also came into being.
वर्तमानयुगे जातस्तथा राजा युधिष्ठिरः ।
भविता शालिवाहाद्यस्तथैव द्विजसत्तम ॥३२॥
32. vartamānayuge jātastathā rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ .
bhavitā śālivāhādyastathaiva dvijasattama.
32. vartamāna yuge jātaḥ tathā rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ
bhavitā śālivāhādyaḥ tathā eva dvijasattama
32. O best among the twice-born (dvijasattama), King Yudhishthira was born in the current epoch, and similarly, Shālivāhana and others will also be born.
पारावतांशकेऽप्येवं जाता मन्वादयस्तथा ।
विष्णोः सर्वेऽवताराश्च जायन्ते देवलोकके ॥३३॥
33. pārāvatāṃśake'pyevaṃ jātā manvādayastathā .
viṣṇoḥ sarve'vatārāśca jāyante devalokake.
33. pārāvatāṃśake api evam jātāḥ manu ādayaḥ tathā
viṣṇoḥ sarve avatārāḥ ca jāyante devalokake
33. Even in the Pārāvata division (aṃśaka), the Manus and others are born thus. Moreover, all the incarnations (avatāra) of Vishnu are born in the divine realm (devaloka).
ब्रह्मलोकके तु ब्रह्माद्या जायन्ते विश्वपालकाः ।
ऐरावतांशके जातः पूर्व स्वायंभुवो मनुः ॥३४॥
34. brahmalokake tu brahmādyā jāyante viśvapālakāḥ .
airāvatāṃśake jātaḥ pūrva svāyaṃbhuvo manuḥ.
34. brahmalokake tu brahmādyaḥ jāyante viśvapālakāḥ
airāvatāṃśake jātaḥ pūrvam svāyaṃbhuvaḥ manuḥ
34. But in the Brahmaloka (realm of Brahma), Brahma and others, the protectors of the universe, are born. Formerly, Svayambhuva Manu was born in the Airāvata division (aṃśaka).
