मुक्ताविद्रुमलाभश्च ज्ञानकर्मसुखादिकम् ।
विद्यामहत्त्वं कीर्तिश्च नूतनप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥१॥
1. muktāvidrumalābhaśca jñānakarmasukhādikam .

1. There will be gains of pearls and corals, along with knowledge, auspicious actions (karma), happiness, and so on. Also, the importance of learning, fame, and the vision of a new lord or master (are predicted).
विभवं दारपुत्रादि पितृमातृसुखावहम् ।
स्वोच्चादिस्थेऽथ नीचेऽस्ते षष्ठाष्टमव्ययराशिगे ॥२॥
2. vibhavaṃ dāraputrādi pitṛmātṛsukhāvaham .
svoccādisthe'tha nīce'ste ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige.
2. vibhavam dāraputrādi pitṛmātṛsukhāvaham
svoccādisthite atha nīce aste ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige
2. Prosperity, family (wife, sons, etc.), and happiness for parents (are indicated). These are results when (a planet) is situated in its own exalted sign or similar auspicious positions. Furthermore, (different outcomes occur) when it is debilitated, in the seventh house, or in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth houses.
पापयुक्तेऽथवा दृष्टे धनधान्यपशुक्षयः ।
आत्मबन्धुविरोधश्च शूलरूगादिसम्भवः ॥३॥
3. pāpayukte'thavā dṛṣṭe dhanadhānyapaśukṣayaḥ .
ātmabandhuvirodhaśca śūlarūgādisambhavaḥ.

3. When [a planet or house] is conjoined with or aspected by malefic planets, there will be a loss of wealth, grains, and cattle. There will also be conflict with one's own relatives, and the occurrence of colic and other diseases.
राजकार्यकलापेन व्याकुलो भव्ति ध्रुवम् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु दारक्लेशो भविष्यति ॥४॥
4. rājakāryakalāpena vyākulo bhavti dhruvam .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dārakleśo bhaviṣyati.

4. One will certainly be troubled by state affairs. However, if the lord of the second house is simultaneously the lord of the seventh house, there will be distress concerning the spouse.
आत्मसम्बन्धिमरणं वातशूलादिसम्भवः ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ॥५॥
5. ātmasambandhimaraṇaṃ vātaśūlādisambhavaḥ .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ viṣṇusāhasrakaṃ japet.

5. There will be the death of one's own relatives and the occurrence of vāta-related colic and other diseases. To alleviate these defects, one should chant the Viṣṇu Sahasranāma.
बुधस्यान्तर्गते केतौ लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
शुभयुक्ते शुभैर्दृष्टे लग्नाधिपसमन्विते ॥६॥
6. budhasyāntargate ketau lagnātkendratrikoṇage .

6. When Ketu is in the sub-period (antardaśā) of Budha (Mercury), and Ketu is situated in a Kendra (angular) or Trikona (trine) house from the Lagna (ascendant), is conjoined with benefics, aspected by benefics, and associated with the lord of the Lagna (ascendant).
योगकारकसम्बन्धे दायेशात्केन्द्रलाभगे ।
देहसौख्यं धनाल्पत्वं बन्धुस्नेहमथादिशेत् ॥७॥
7. yogakārakasambandhe dāyeśātkendralābhage .
dehasaukhyaṃ dhanālpatvaṃ bandhusnehamathādiśet.

7. When there is an association with a planet that forms a yoga (yogakāraka), and it is situated in a Kendra (angular) or Lābha (11th) house from the lord of gains (dāyeśa), then one should predict bodily comfort, limited wealth, and affection for relatives.
चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभः स्यात्संचारेण धनागमः ।
विद्याकीर्तिर्प्रसङ्गश्च समानप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥८॥
8. catuṣpājjīvalābhaḥ syātsaṃcāreṇa dhanāgamaḥ .
vidyākīrtirprasaṅgaśca samānaprabhudarśanam.
8. catuṣpāt jīvalābhaḥ syāt saṃcāreṇa dhanāgamaḥ
vidyākīrtiḥ prasaṅgaḥ ca samānaprabhudarśanam
8. There will be a gain of four-footed creatures. Through journeys, there will be an acquisition of wealth. One will also achieve fame through knowledge, form associations, and meet with equals or superiors.
भोजनाम्बरसौख्यं च ह्यादौ मध्ये सुखावहम् ।
दायेशाद्यदि रन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥९॥
9. bhojanāmbarasaukhyaṃ ca hyādau madhye sukhāvaham .
dāyeśādyadi randhrasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute.
9. bhojanāmbarasaukhyam ca hi ādau madhye sukhāvaham
dāyeśāt yadi randhrasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute
9. There will be happiness from food and clothing, which is indeed pleasant in the beginning and middle (of the period). However, if the lord of the daśā is situated in the eighth house (randhra) or the twelfth house (vyaya), or is conjoined with a malefic planet...
वाहनात्पतनं चैव पुत्रक्लेशादिसम्भवः ।
चौरादिराजभीतिश्च पापकर्मरतः सदा ॥१०॥
10. vāhanātpatanaṃ caiva putrakleśādisambhavaḥ .
caurādirājabhītiśca pāpakarmarataḥ sadā.
10. vāhanāt patanam ca eva putrakleśādisambhavaḥ
caurādirājabhītiḥ ca pāpakarmarataḥ sadā
10. There will be a fall from a vehicle, indeed, and the possibility of troubles related to children and so on. There will also be fear from thieves, royalty, etc., and one will always be engaged in sinful deeds (karma).
वृश्चिकादिविषाद्भीतिर्नीचैः कलहसंभवः ।
शोकरोगादिदुःखं च नीचसङ्गादिकं भवेत् ॥११॥
11. vṛścikādiviṣādbhītirnīcaiḥ kalahasaṃbhavaḥ .
śokarogādiduḥkhaṃ ca nīcasaṅgādikaṃ bhavet.
11. vṛścikādiviṣāt bhītiḥ nīcaiḥ kalahasambhavaḥ
śokarogādiduḥkham ca nīcasaṅgādikam bhavet
11. There will be fear from the poison of scorpions and other such creatures, and the possibility of quarrels with low individuals. Sorrow, disease, and other miseries, as well as association with low company, etc., will occur.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहजाड्यं भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहाराय छागदानं तु कारयेत् ॥१२॥
12. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehajāḍyaṃ bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārāya chāgadānaṃ tu kārayet.
12. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehajāḍyam bhaviṣyati
tatdoṣaparihārāya chāgadānam tu kārayet
12. However, if the lord of the second and seventh houses (dyūna) is (afflicted), then bodily inertness will occur. To remove this fault, one should indeed perform the giving of a goat (dāna).
सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते शुक्रे केन्द्रे लाभे त्रिकोणगे ।
सत्कथापुण्यधर्मादिसंग्रहः पुण्यकर्मकृत् ॥१३॥
13. saumyasyāntargate śukre kendre lābhe trikoṇage .
satkathāpuṇyadharmādisaṃgrahaḥ puṇyakarmakṛt.

satkathāpuṇyadharmādisaṃgrahaḥ puṇyakarmakṛt
13. If Venus is within the influence of a benefic planet and is situated in a Kendra (angular house), Labha (eleventh house of gains), or Trikona (trine house), the person will accumulate good stories, merits, and righteousness (dharma), and will perform virtuous actions.
मित्रप्रभुवशादिष्टं क्षेत्रलाभः सुखं भवेत् ।
दशाधिपात्केन्द्रगते त्रिकोणे लाभगेऽपि वा ॥१४॥
14. mitraprabhuvaśādiṣṭaṃ kṣetralābhaḥ sukhaṃ bhavet .
daśādhipātkendragate trikoṇe lābhage'pi vā.
14. mitraprabhuvaśāt iṣṭam kṣetralābhaḥ sukham bhavet
daśādhipāt kendragate trikoṇe lābhage api vā

14. When a planet is situated in an angle house (kendra), a trine house (trikoṇa), or even a house of gains (lābha) from the lord of the planetary period (daśādhipa), then through the influence of a friendly planetary lord, desired acquisition of property (kṣetra) and happiness will occur.
तत्काले श्रियमाप्नोति राजश्रीधनसम्पदः ।
वापीकूपतडागदिदानधर्मादिसंग्रहः ॥१५॥
15. tatkāle śriyamāpnoti rājaśrīdhanasampadaḥ .
vāpīkūpataḍāgadidānadharmādisaṃgrahaḥ.
15. tatkāle śriyam āpnoti rājaśrīdhanasampadaḥ
vāpīkūpataḍāgādidānadharmādisaṃgrahaḥ
15. During that period, one obtains prosperity, royal affluence, and great wealth. There is also an accumulation of charitable donations (dāna) such as step-wells, ordinary wells, tanks, and other virtuous acts (dharma).
व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं धनधान्यसमृद्धिकृत् ।
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥१६॥
16. vyavasāyātphalādhikyaṃ dhanadhānyasamṛddhikṛt .
dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhrasthe vyaye vā balavarjite.
16. vyavasāyāt phalādhikyaṃ dhanadhānyasamṛddhikṛt
dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭharandhrasthe vyaye vā balavarjite
16. There will be an abundance of results from enterprises, leading to prosperity in wealth and grains. If the Dasha lord is situated in the sixth house, the eighth house (randhra), or the twelfth house (vyaya), or is devoid of strength...
हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च ज्वरातीसारपीडनम् ।
आत्मबन्धुवियोगश्च संसारे भवति ध्रुवम् ॥१७॥
17. hṛdrogo mānahāniśca jvarātīsārapīḍanam .
ātmabandhuviyogaśca saṃsāre bhavati dhruvam.
17. hṛdrogaḥ mānahāniḥ ca jvarātīsārapīḍanam
ātmabandhuviyogaḥ ca saṃsāre bhavati dhruvam
17. During such a period, there will be heart disease, loss of honor, and affliction by fever and dysentery. There will certainly be separation from one's own kith and kin (ātman-bandhu) in the cycle of transmigration (saṃsāra).
आत्मकष्टं मनस्तापदायकं द्विजसत्तम ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥१८॥
18. ātmakaṣṭaṃ manastāpadāyakaṃ dvijasattama .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati.
18. ātma kaṣṭam manastāpadāyakam dvijasattama
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
18. O best among the twice-born, when the lord of the second and seventh houses is (prominent), there will surely be self-suffering, mental distress, and an untimely death.
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गादेवीजपं चरेत् ।
जगदम्बाप्रसादेन ततः शान्तिमवाप्नुयात् ॥१९॥
19. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ durgādevījapaṃ caret .
jagadambāprasādena tataḥ śāntimavāpnuyāt.
19. tatdoṣaparihārārtham durgādevījapam caret
jagadambāprasādena tataḥ śāntim avāpnuyāt
19. For the removal of that affliction, one should perform the chanting (japa) of Goddess Durgā. Subsequently, by the grace of Jagadambā (Mother of the World), one will attain peace.
सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते सूर्ये स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ।
त्रिकोणे धनलाभे तु तुङ्गांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥२०॥
20. saumyasyāntargate sūrye svocce svakṣetrakendrage .
trikoṇe dhanalābhe tu tuṅgāṃśe svāṃśage'pi vā.
20. saumyasya antargate sūrye svocce svakṣetrakendrage
trikoṇe dhanalābhe tu tuṅgāṃśe svāṃśage api vā
20. When the Sun is situated within a sign ruled by Mercury, or is in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign and an angular house (kendra), or in a trine house (trikoṇa), or in a house of wealth or gain, or in its exalted Navāmśa, or even in its own Navāmśa...
राजप्रसादसुभाग्यं मित्रप्रभुवशात्सुखम् ।
भूम्यात्मजेन संदृष्टे आदौ भूलाभमादिशेत् ॥२१॥
21. rājaprasādasubhāgyaṃ mitraprabhuvaśātsukham .
bhūmyātmajena saṃdṛṣṭe ādau bhūlābhamādiśet.
21. rājaprasādasubhāgyam mitraprabhuvaśāt sukham
bhūmyātmajena sandṛṣṭe ādau bhūlābham ādiśet
21. There will be royal favor, good fortune, and happiness derived from friends and masters. If the Sun is aspected by the son of the Earth (Mars), one should primarily predict the acquisition of land.
लग्नाधिपेन संदृष्टे बहुसौख्यं धनागमम् ।
ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभं च भोजनाम्बरसौख्यकृत् ॥२२॥
22. lagnādhipena saṃdṛṣṭe bahusaukhyaṃ dhanāgamam .
grāmabhūmyādilābhaṃ ca bhojanāmbarasaukhyakṛt.
22. lagnādhipena sandṛṣṭe bahusaukhyam dhanāgamam
grāmabhūmyādilābham ca bhojanāmbarasaukhyakṛt
22. If the Sun is aspected by the lord of the Ascendant, it bestows great happiness, the inflow of wealth, and the acquisition of villages, land, and so on. It also causes comfort related to food and clothing.
लग्नाष्टमव्यये वापि शन्यारफणिसंयुते ।
दायेशाद्रिपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥२३॥
23. lagnāṣṭamavyaye vāpi śanyāraphaṇisaṃyute .
dāyeśādripurandhrasthe vyaye vā balavarjite.
23. lagnāṣṭamavyaye vā api śani ara phaṇi saṃyute
dāyeśāt ripurandhrasthe vyaye vā balavarjite
23. When a planet is situated in the Ascendant (lagna), the 8th house, or the 12th house, or is conjoined with Saturn, Mars, and Rahu/Ketu; and if (that planet) is located in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house from the Dasha (period) lord, or is devoid of strength.
चौरादिशस्त्रपीडा च पित्ताधिक्यं भविष्यति ।
शिरोरुङ्मनसस्ताप इष्टबन्धुवियोगकृत् ॥२४॥
24. caurādiśastrapīḍā ca pittādhikyaṃ bhaviṣyati .
śiroruṅmanasastāpa iṣṭabandhuviyogakṛt.
24. caurādi śastrapīḍā ca pittādhikyam bhaviṣyati
| śiroruk manasastāpa iṣṭabandhuvyogakṛt
24. There will be suffering from thieves, weapons, and similar dangers, and an excess of Pitta (bile) will manifest. There will be headaches, mental distress, and separation from dear relatives.
द्वितीयसप्तमाधीशे ह्यपमृत्युर्भविश्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं शान्तिं कुर्याद्यथाविधि ॥२५॥
25. dvitīyasaptamādhīśe hyapamṛtyurbhaviśyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ śāntiṃ kuryādyathāvidhi.
25. dvitīyasaptamādhīśe hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati |
taddoṣaparihārārtham śāntim kuryāt yathāvidhi
25. Indeed, if the lord of the 2nd and 7th houses is (afflicted as described), untimely death will occur. For the removal of that defect, one should perform a propitiation (śānti) ritual according to the prescribed rules.
सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते चन्द्रे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि गुरुदृष्टिसमन्विते ॥२६॥
26. saumyasyāntargate candre lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce vā svarkṣage vāpi gurudṛṣṭisamanvite.
26. saumyasya antargate candre lagnāt kendratrikoṇage
| svocche vā svarkṣage vā api gurudṛṣṭisamanvite
26. When the Moon is in the sub-period (antargata) of a benefic planet, and is situated in a Kendra (angular) or Trikona (trine) house from the Ascendant (lagna), or in its own exaltation (svocca) sign, or in its own sign (svarkṣa), and is endowed with the aspect of Jupiter (guru).
योगस्थानाधिपत्येन योगप्राबल्यमादिशेत् ।
स्त्रीलाभं पुत्रलाभं च वस्त्रवाहनभूषणम् ॥२७॥
27. yogasthānādhipatyena yogaprābalyamādiśet .
strīlābhaṃ putralābhaṃ ca vastravāhanabhūṣaṇam.
27. yogasthānādhipatyena yogaprābalyam ādiśet |
strīlābham putralābham ca vastravāhanabhūṣaṇam
27. Through the lordship of auspicious positions, one should predict the strength of that favorable planetary combination (yoga). This combination indicates the gain of a wife, children, clothes, conveyances, and ornaments.
नूतनालयलाभं च नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
गीतवाद्यप्रसंगं च शास्त्रविद्यापरिश्रमम् ॥२८॥
28. nūtanālayalābhaṃ ca nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam .
gītavādyaprasaṃgaṃ ca śāstravidyāpariśramam.
28. nūtanālayalābham ca nityam miṣṭānnābhojanam
gītavādyaprasaṅgam ca śāstravidyāpariśramam
28. There will be the acquisition of a new house, and a continuous indulgence in sweet foods. Also, there will be involvement in singing and instrumental music, and diligent study (pariśrama) of scriptural knowledge (śāstra vidyā).
दक्षिणां दिशमाश्रित्य प्रयाणं च भविष्यति ।
द्वीपान्तरादिवस्त्राणां लाभश्चैव भविष्यति ॥२९॥
29. dakṣiṇāṃ diśamāśritya prayāṇaṃ ca bhaviṣyati .
dvīpāntarādivastrāṇāṃ lābhaścaiva bhaviṣyati.
29. dakṣiṇām diśam āśritya prayāṇam ca bhaviṣyati
dvīpāntarādivastrāṇām lābhaḥ ca eva bhaviṣyati
29. A journey (prayāṇa) will occur, heading towards the southern direction (dakṣiṇā diś). Indeed, there will also be the acquisition of clothes and other goods from foreign lands (dvīpāntara).
मुक्ताविद्रुमरत्नानि धौतवस्त्रादिकं लभेत् ।
नीचारिक्षेत्रसंयुक्ते देहबाधा भविष्यति ॥३०॥
30. muktāvidrumaratnāni dhautavastrādikaṃ labhet .
nīcārikṣetrasaṃyukte dehabādhā bhaviṣyati.
30. muktāvidrumaratnāni dhautavastrādikam labhet
nīcārikṣetrasaṃyukte dehabādhā bhaviṣyati
30. One will obtain pearls (muktā), corals (vidruma), gems (ratna), and clean garments (dhautavastra) along with other items. When [a planet is] associated with a sign of debilitation (nīca) or an enemy's sign (ari-kṣetra), there will be bodily affliction (dehabādhā).
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणस्थे दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ।
तद्भुक्त्यादौ पुण्यतीर्थस्थानदैवतदर्शनम् ॥३१॥
31. dāyeśātkendrakoṇasthe duścikye lābhage'pi vā .
tadbhuktyādau puṇyatīrthasthānadaivatadarśanam.
31. dāyeśāt kendrakoṇasthe duścikye lābhage api vā
tadbhuktyādau puṇyatīrthasthānadaivatadarśanam
31. When [a planet] from the daśā lord (dāyeśa) is situated in a quadrant (kendra) or trine (koṇa) house, or even in the 3rd house (duścikya) or the 11th house (lābha), then at the beginning of that sub-period (bhukti) and subsequently, there will be a visit (darśana) to sacred holy places (puṇya tīrtha), shrines, and deities (daivata).
मनोधैर्यं हृदुत्साहो विदेशधनलाभकृत् ।
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥३२॥
32. manodhairyaṃ hṛdutsāho videśadhanalābhakṛt .
dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute.
32. manodhāiryam hṛd utsāhaḥ videśadhanalābhakṛt
dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute
32. There will be mental fortitude (manodhairya) and enthusiasm (utsāha) from the heart (hṛd), and one will gain wealth from foreign lands (videśa). This happens when [a planet] is located in the 6th (ṣaṣṭha), 8th (randhra), or 12th (vyaya) house from the daśā lord (dāyeśa), or when it is conjoined (saṃyukta) with malefic planets (pāpa).
चोराग्निनृपभीतिश्च स्त्रीसमागमतो भवेत् ।
दुष्कृतिर्धनहानिश्च कृषिगोश्वादिनाशकृत् ॥३३॥
33. corāgninṛpabhītiśca strīsamāgamato bhavet .
duṣkṛtirdhanahāniśca kṛṣigośvādināśakṛt.
33. corāgninṛpabhītiḥ ca strīsamāgamataḥ bhavet
duṣkṛtiḥ dhanahāniḥ ca kṛṣigośvādināśakṛt
33. There will be fear from thieves, fire, and kings, along with association with women. There will also be evil deeds, loss of wealth, and destruction of agriculture, cows, horses, and so on.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गादेवीजपं चरेत् ॥३४॥
34. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehabādhā bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ durgādevījapaṃ caret.
34. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehabādhā bhaviṣyati
tat doṣaparihārārtham durgādevījapam caret
34. When the lord of the seventh house is in the second house, there will be physical ailments. To remedy this affliction, one should perform the chanting (japa) of Goddess Durgā.
वस्त्रदानं प्रकुर्वीत आयुर्वृद्धिसुखावहम् ।

35. One should perform the giving of clothes (dāna), which brings increase in longevity and happiness. Through the grace (prasāda) of Jagadambā (the Mother of the World), one will then attain happiness.
सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते भौमे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि लग्नाधिपसमन्विते ॥३६॥
36. saumyasyāntargate bhaume lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce vā svarkṣage vāpi lagnādhipasamanvite.

36. When Mars (bhaume) is situated within the period of Mercury (saumyasya antargate), and is in a kendra or trikona house from the ascendant, or in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign, or associated with the lord of the ascendant.
राजानुग्रहशान्तिं च गृहे कल्याणसम्भवम् ।
लक्ष्मीकटाक्षचिह्नानि नष्टराज्यार्थमाप्नुयात् ॥३७॥
37. rājānugrahaśāntiṃ ca gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavam .
lakṣmīkaṭākṣacihnāni naṣṭarājyārthamāpnuyāt.
37. rājānugrahaśāntim ca gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavam
lakṣmīkaṭākṣacihnāni naṣṭarājyārtham āpnuyāt
37. One will attain the peace of royal favor, the possibility of auspiciousness at home, and the signs of Lakṣmī's benevolent glance, even regaining lost wealth or kingdom.
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषं गृहे गोधनसंकुलम् ।
गृहक्षेत्रादिलाभं च गजवाजिसमन्वितम् ॥३८॥
38. putrotsavādisantoṣaṃ gṛhe godhanasaṃkulam .
gṛhakṣetrādilābhaṃ ca gajavājisamanvitam.
38. putrotsavādi-santoṣam gṛhe godhana-saṃkulam
gṛhakṣetrādi-lābham ca gaja-vāji-samanvitam
38. One experiences joy from events such as the birth of a son, a home bustling with cows and other wealth, and the acquisition of houses, lands, accompanied by elephants and horses.
राजप्रीतिकरं चैव स्त्रीसौख्यं चातिशोभनम् ।
नीचक्षेत्रसमायुक्ते ह्यष्टमे वा व्ययेऽपि वा ॥३९॥
39. rājaprītikaraṃ caiva strīsaukhyaṃ cātiśobhanam .
nīcakṣetrasamāyukte hyaṣṭame vā vyaye'pi vā.
39. rāja-prīti-karam ca eva strī-saukhyam ca ati-śobhanam

39. One also experiences royal favor and very excellent conjugal happiness. However, if (the relevant planet) is situated in a debilitated sign (nīcakṣetra), or in the eighth house, or even in the twelfth house (vyaya), then...
पापदृष्टियुते वापि देहपीडा मनोव्यथा ।
उद्योगभङ्गो दशादौ स्वग्रामे धान्यनशनम् ॥४०॥
40. pāpadṛṣṭiyute vāpi dehapīḍā manovyathā .
udyogabhaṅgo daśādau svagrāme dhānyanaśanam.
40. pāpa-dṛṣṭi-yute vā api deha-pīḍā mano-vyathā
udyoga-bhaṅgaḥ daśā-ādau sva-grāme dhānya-naśanam
40. Or even if it (the planet) is aspected by malefic planets, there will be bodily pain and mental distress. At the beginning of the planetary period (daśā), there will be disruption of one's endeavors and destruction of grain in one's own village.
ग्रंथिशस्त्रव्रणादीनां भयं तापज्वरादिकम् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रगे भौमे त्रिकोणे लाभगेऽपि वा ॥४१॥
41. graṃthiśastravraṇādīnāṃ bhayaṃ tāpajvarādikam .
dāyeśātkendrage bhaume trikoṇe lābhage'pi vā.
41. granthi-śastra-vraṇa-ādīnām bhayam tāpa-jvara-ādikam

41. One may experience fear from tumors, weapons, wounds, and similar afflictions, along with fever and other illnesses. However, if Mars (bhauma) is situated in a quadrant (kendra) or a trine (trikoṇa), or even in a house of gain (lābha) from the lord of the planetary period (daśā)...
शुभदृष्टे धनप्राप्तिर्देहसौख्यं भवेनृणाम् ।
पुत्रलाभो यशोवृद्धिर्भ्रातृवर्गो महाप्रियः ॥४२॥
42. śubhadṛṣṭe dhanaprāptirdehasaukhyaṃ bhavenṛṇām .
putralābho yaśovṛddhirbhrātṛvargo mahāpriyaḥ.
42. śubha-dṛṣṭe dhana-prāptiḥ deha-saukhyam bhavet nṛṇām
putra-lābhaḥ yaśo-vṛddhiḥ bhrātṛ-vargaḥ mahā-priyaḥ
42. If it (Mars from the previous verse) is aspected by benefics, then people will attain wealth and bodily comfort. There will be gain of sons, an increase in fame, and one's circle of brothers (or kinsmen) will become very dear.
दायेशादथ रन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ।
तद्भुक्त्यादौ महाक्लेशो भ्रातृवर्गे महद्भयम् ॥४३॥
43. dāyeśādatha randhrasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute .
tadbhuktyādau mahākleśo bhrātṛvarge mahadbhayam.
43. dāyeśāt atha randhrasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute tat
bhukti ādau mahākleśaḥ bhrātṛvarge mahat bhayam
43. If the lord of the planetary period is situated in the eighth house or the twelfth house, or is conjoined with a malefic planet, then at the beginning of its sub-period, there will be great distress and significant fear among one's siblings and relatives.
नृपाग्निचौरभीतिश्च पुत्रमित्रविरोधनम् ।
स्थानभ्रंशो भवेदादौ मध्ये सौख्यं धनागमः ॥४४॥
44. nṛpāgnicaurabhītiśca putramitravirodhanam .
sthānabhraṃśo bhavedādau madhye saukhyaṃ dhanāgamaḥ.
44. nṛpa agni caura bhītiḥ ca putramitra virodhanam
sthānabhraṃśaḥ bhavet ādau madhye saukhyam dhana āgamaḥ
44. There will also be fear from authorities, fire, and thieves, as well as hostility with one's children and friends. Loss of position will occur at the beginning (of the sub-period). In the middle (of the sub-period), however, there will be happiness and acquisition of wealth.
अन्ते तु राजभीतिः स्यात्स्थानभ्रंशोह्यथापिवा ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युभयं भवेत् ॥४५॥
45. ante tu rājabhītiḥ syātsthānabhraṃśohyathāpivā .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyubhayaṃ bhavet.
45. ante tu rājabhītiḥ syāt sthānabhraṃśaḥ hi atha api
vā dvitīya dyūna nāthe tu hi apamṛtyu bhayam bhavet
45. At the end (of the sub-period), there will be fear from authorities, or indeed a loss of position. If the lord of the second (house) or the seventh (house) is involved, there will certainly be fear of an untimely death.
गोदानं च प्रकुर्वीत मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ।
शङ्करस्य प्रसादेन ततः सुकह्मवाप्नुयात् ॥४६॥
46. godānaṃ ca prakurvīta mṛtyuñjayajapaṃ caret .
śaṅkarasya prasādena tataḥ sukahmavāpnuyāt.

46. One should perform the gift of a cow (dāna) and chant the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra (mantra). Then, by the grace of Śaṅkara, one will attain well-being.
बुधस्यान्तर्गते राहौ केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे ।
कुलीरे कुम्भगे वापि कन्यायां वृषभेपि वा ॥४७॥
47. budhasyāntargate rāhau kendralābhatrikoṇage .
kulīre kumbhage vāpi kanyāyāṃ vṛṣabhepi vā.
47. budhasya antargate rāhau kendra lābha trikoṇage
kulīre kumbhage vā api kanyāyām vṛṣabhe api vā
47. During the sub-period of Budha (Mercury), if Rāhu is situated in an angular house (kendra), an eleventh house (lābha), or a trinal house (trikoṇa) - specifically if it is in Cancer, Aquarius, Virgo, or Taurus - (certain astrological effects will manifest).
राजसम्मानकीर्तिं च धनं च प्रभविष्यति ।
पुण्यतीर्थस्थानलाभो देवतादर्शनं तथा ॥४८॥
48. rājasammānakīrtiṃ ca dhanaṃ ca prabhaviṣyati .
puṇyatīrthasthānalābho devatādarśanaṃ tathā.
48. rājasaṃmānakīrtim ca dhanam ca prabhaviṣyati
puṇyatīrthasthānalābhaḥ devatādarśanam tathā
48. One will attain royal honor, fame, and wealth. There will also be the benefit of visiting sacred pilgrimage sites and experiencing the vision of deities.
इष्तापूर्ते च महतो मानश्चाम्बरलाभकृत् ।
भुक्त्यादौ देहपीडा च त्वन्ते सौख्यं विनिर्दिशेत् ॥४९॥
49. iṣtāpūrte ca mahato mānaścāmbaralābhakṛt .
bhuktyādau dehapīḍā ca tvante saukhyaṃ vinirdiśet.
49. iṣṭāpūrte ca mahataḥ mānaḥ ca ambaralābhakṛt
bhuktyādau dehapīḍā ca tu ante saukhyam vinirdiśet
49. There will be sacrifices (iṣṭa) and charitable acts (pūrta); from these great deeds, honor and the acquisition of clothing will result. In the beginning of the astrological period (bhukti), there will be bodily pain, but at its end, one should predict happiness.
लग्नाष्टव्ययराशिस्थे तद्भुक्तौ धननाशनम् ।
भुक्त्यादौ देहनाशश्च वातज्वरमजीर्णकृत् ॥५०॥
50. lagnāṣṭavyayarāśisthe tadbhuktau dhananāśanam .
bhuktyādau dehanāśaśca vātajvaramajīrṇakṛt.
50. lagnāṣṭavyayarāśisthe tat bhuktau dhananāśanam
bhuktyādau dehanāśaḥ ca vātajvaram ajīrṇakṛt
50. When (the planet is) situated in the first, eighth, or twelfth house (from the ascendant), during its sub-period (bhukti) there will be loss of wealth. In the initial part of this period, there will be physical destruction (death), causing fever due to imbalance of wind (vāta) and indigestion.
लग्नादुपचये राहौ शुभग्रहसमन्विते ।
राजसंलापसन्तोषो नूतनप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥५१॥
51. lagnādupacaye rāhau śubhagrahasamanvite .
rājasaṃlāpasantoṣo nūtanaprabhudarśanam.

rājasaṃlāpasantosṣaḥ nūtanaprabhudarśanam
51. When Rāhu is situated in an Upacaya house (the 3rd, 6th, 10th, or 11th) from the ascendant, and is associated with benefic planets, there will be satisfaction from discussions with rulers and the sighting of a new lord or authority.
दायेशाद्द्वादशे वापि ह्यष्टमे पापसंयुते ।
निष्ठुरं राजकार्याणि स्थानभ्रंशो महद्भयम् ॥५२॥
52. dāyeśāddvādaśe vāpi hyaṣṭame pāpasaṃyute .
niṣṭhuraṃ rājakāryāṇi sthānabhraṃśo mahadbhayam.
52. dāyeśāt dvādaśe vā api hi aṣṭame pāpasaṃyute
niṣṭhuram rājakāryāṇi sthānabhraṃśaḥ mahat bhayam
52. When (a planet is) in the twelfth house from the lord of the Dasha (astrological period), or even in the eighth house, and is conjoined with a malefic planet, there will be harsh royal duties, loss of position, and great fear.
बन्धनं रोगपीडा च निजबन्धुमनोव्यथा ।
हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च धनहानिर्भविष्यति ॥५३॥
53. bandhanaṃ rogapīḍā ca nijabandhumanovyathā .
hṛdrogo mānahāniśca dhanahānirbhaviṣyati.
53. bandhanam rogapīḍā ca nijabandhumanovyathā
hṛdrogaḥ mānahāniḥ ca dhanahāniḥ bhaviṣyati
53. There will be imprisonment, affliction by disease, mental anguish for one's own relatives, heart disease, loss of honor, and loss of wealth.
द्वितीयसप्तमस्थे वा ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गालक्ष्मीजपं चरेत् ॥५४॥
54. dvitīyasaptamasthe vā hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ durgālakṣmījapaṃ caret.
54. dvitīyasaptamasthe vā hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
tat doṣa parihārārtham durgālakṣmījapam caret
54. If (a planet) is in the second or seventh (house), there will surely be an untimely death. To counteract this flaw, one should perform the chanting (japa) of Durgā and Lakṣmī.
श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्यादायुआरोग्यदायिनीम् ।
जगदम्बाप्रसादेन ततः सुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥५५॥
55. śvetāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyādāyuārogyadāyinīm .
jagadambāprasādena tataḥ sukhamavāpnuyāt.
55. śvetām gām mahiṣīm dadyāt āyuārogyadāyinīm
jagadambāprasādena tataḥ sukham avāpnuyāt
55. One should donate a white cow or buffalo that bestows long life and health. Thereafter, by the grace (prasāda) of Jagadambā, one will attain happiness.
बुधस्यान्तर्गते जीवे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि लाभे वा धनराशिगे ॥५६॥
56. budhasyāntargate jīve lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce vā svarkṣage vāpi lābhe vā dhanarāśige.

देहसौख्यं धनावाप्ती राजप्रीतिस्तथैव च ।
विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ॥५७॥
57. dehasaukhyaṃ dhanāvāptī rājaprītistathaiva ca .
vivāhotsavakāryāṇi nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam.
57. dehasaukhyam dhanāvāptiḥ rājaprītiḥ tathā eva
ca vivāhotsavakāryāṇi nityam miṣṭānnabhojanam
57. There will be bodily comfort, acquisition of wealth, royal favor, as well as activities like marriages and festivals, and constant consumption of sweet delicacies.
गोमहिष्यादिलाभश्च पुराणस्र्/अवणादिकम् ।
देवतागुरुभक्तिश्च दानधर्ममखादिकम् ॥५८॥
58. gomahiṣyādilābhaśca purāṇasr/avaṇādikam .
devatāgurubhaktiśca dānadharmamakhādikam.

58. There will be gain of cows, buffaloes, etc., and listening to ancient scriptures (purāṇa), etc. There will be devotion (bhakti) to deities and spiritual teachers (guru), and acts of charity (dāna), following natural law (dharma), and performing sacrifices, etc.
यज्ञकर्मप्रवृद्धिश्च शिवपूजाफलं तथा ।
नीचे वास्तंगते वापि षष्ठाष्टव्ययगेऽपि वा ॥५९॥
59. yajñakarmapravṛddhiśca śivapūjāphalaṃ tathā .
nīce vāstaṃgate vāpi ṣaṣṭhāṣṭavyayage'pi vā.
59. yajñakarmapravṛddhiḥ ca śivapūjāphalam tathā
nīce vā astamgate vā api ṣaṣṭhāṣṭavyayage api vā
59. There will also be an increase in sacrificial (yajña) activities (karma) and the benefits of Shiva worship. This applies even if a planet is debilitated, or has set, or is in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house.
शन्यारदृष्टसंयुक्ते कलहो राजविग्रहः ।
चौरादिदेहपीडा च पितृमातृविनाश्नम् ॥६०॥
60. śanyāradṛṣṭasaṃyukte kalaho rājavigrahaḥ .
caurādidehapīḍā ca pitṛmātṛvināśnam.

60. When a planet is conjoined with or aspected by Saturn (Śani) and Mars (Āra), there will be quarrels, conflicts with the government, physical suffering from thieves and other sources, and loss of parents.
मानहानि राजदण्डो धनहानिर्भविष्यति ।
विषाहिज्वरपीडा च कृषिभूमिविनाशनम् ॥६१॥
61. mānahāni rājadaṇḍo dhanahānirbhaviṣyati .
viṣāhijvarapīḍā ca kṛṣibhūmivināśanam.
61. mānahāniḥ rājadaṇḍaḥ dhanahāniḥ bhaviṣyati
viṣāhijvarapīḍā ca kṛṣibhūmivināśanam
61. There will be loss of honor, royal punishment, and loss of wealth. There will also be suffering from poison, snakes, and fevers, along with the destruction of agriculture and land.
दयेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा लाभे वा बलसंयुते ।
बन्धुपुत्रहृदुत्साहो शुभं च धनसंयुतम् ॥६२॥
62. dayeśātkendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā balasaṃyute .
bandhuputrahṛdutsāho śubhaṃ ca dhanasaṃyutam.
62. dayeśāt kendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā balasaṃyute
bandhuputrahṛdutsāhaḥ śubham ca dhanasaṃyutam
62. If the lord of the seventh house is in a Kendra (angle) or Koṇa (trine) house, or in the eleventh house (Lābha), and is endowed with strength, there will be joy in the heart concerning relatives and sons, and it will be auspicious and accompanied by wealth.
पशुवृद्धिर्यशोवृद्धिरन्नदानादिकं फलम् ।
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥६३॥
63. paśuvṛddhiryaśovṛddhirannadānādikaṃ phalam .
dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā balavarjite.
63. paśuvṛddhiḥ yaśovṛddhiḥ annadānādikam phalam |

63. An increase in livestock, a rise in fame, and acts of charity like donating food are among the results. However, when the lord of the planetary period (daśā) is situated in the 6th, 8th (randhra), or 12th (vyaya) house, or is devoid of strength...
अङ्गतापश्च वैकल्यं देहबाधा भ्विष्यति ।
कलत्रबन्धुवैषम्यं राजकोपो धनक्षयः ॥६४॥
64. aṅgatāpaśca vaikalyaṃ dehabādhā bhviṣyati .
kalatrabandhuvaiṣamyaṃ rājakopo dhanakṣayaḥ.
64. aṅgatāpaḥ ca vaikalyam dehabādhā bhaviṣyati |
kalatrabandhu vaiṣamyam rājakopaḥ dhanakṣayaḥ
64. There will be fever or pain in the limbs, disability, and physical afflictions. There will also be discord with one's spouse and relatives, displeasure from the government or authorities, and loss of wealth.
अकस्मात्कलहाद्भीतिः प्रमादो द्विजतो भयम् ।
द्वितीयसप्तमस्थे वा देहबाधा भविष्यति ॥६५॥
65. akasmātkalahādbhītiḥ pramādo dvijato bhayam .
dvitīyasaptamasthe vā dehabādhā bhaviṣyati.
65. akasmāt kalahāt bhītiḥ pramādaḥ dvijataḥ bhayam
| dvitīyasaptamasthe vā dehabādhā bhaviṣyati
65. There will be sudden fear due to quarrels, misfortune, and apprehension from a Brahmin or a learned person. Bodily afflictions will also occur if (the daśā lord is) situated in the 2nd or 7th house.
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं शिवसाहस्रकं जपेत् ।
गोभूरिरण्यदानेन सर्वारिष्टं व्यपोहति ॥६६॥
66. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ śivasāhasrakaṃ japet .
gobhūriraṇyadānena sarvāriṣṭaṃ vyapohati.
66. tat doṣaparihārārtham śivasāhasrakam japet
| gobhūhiraṇyadānena sarva ariṣṭam vyapohati
66. To remedy these faults, one should chant the thousand names of Shiva (śivasāhasraka). By donating cows, land, and gold (dāna), one dispels all misfortunes.
सौम्यस्यान्तर्गते मन्दे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ।
त्रिकोणलाभगे वापि गृहे कल्याणवर्द्धनम् ॥६७॥

When Saturn (manda) is in the sub-period (antardasha) of a benefic (saumya) planet, and Saturn is situated in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign, or in an angular (kendra) house, or in a trine (trikoṇa), or in a house of gain (lābha, 11th house) - then, prosperity and welfare will increase in that particular house.
राज्यलाभं महोत्साहं
गृहं गोधनसंकुलम् ॥६८॥
68. rājyalābhaṃ mahotsāhaṃ
gṛhaṃ godhanasaṃkulam.

68. One may experience the acquisition of a kingdom, great enthusiasm, and a home abundant with cattle and wealth.

69. śubhasthānaphalavāptiṃ tīrthavāsaṃ tathādiśet .

अरातिदुःखबाहुल्यं दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
बुद्धिभ्रंशो बन्धुनाशः कर्मनाशो मनोरुजः ॥७०॥

70. An abundance of suffering from enemies, affliction of one's wife and children, loss of intellect, destruction of relatives, loss of livelihood (karma), and mental distress.
विदेशगमनं चैव दुःस्वप्नादिप्रदर्शनम् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥७१॥
71. videśagamanaṃ caiva duḥsvapnādipradarśanam .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati.
71. videśagamanam ca eva duḥsvapnādipradarśanam
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
71. Also, travel to foreign lands and seeing bad dreams, among other things. However, if the lord of the second house and the seventh house are involved, premature death will certainly occur.
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ।
कृष्णां गां महिषीं दद्यादायुरारोग्यवृद्धये ॥७२॥
72. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ mṛtyuñjayajapaṃ caret .
kṛṣṇāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyādāyurārogyavṛddhaye.
72. tat doṣaparihārārtham mṛtyuñjayajapam caret
kṛṣṇām gām mahiṣīm dadyāt āyuḥ ārogyavṛddhaye
72. To alleviate that defect, one should perform the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra (japa). Additionally, one should donate a black cow or a she-buffalo for the increase of longevity and health.
