मेषे तु रक्तजा पीडा वृषभे धान्यवर्द्धनम् ।
मिथुने ज्ञानवृद्धिश्च कर्के धनपतिर्भवेत् ॥१॥

1. In Aries (meṣa), there is an affliction related to blood. In Taurus (vṛṣabha), there is an increase in grains/wealth. In Gemini (mithuna), there is an increase in knowledge. And in Cancer (karka), one becomes a lord of wealth (dhanapati).
सिंहभे शत्रुबाधा स्यात् कन्यायां स्त्रीजनात् सुखम् ।
तुलभे राजमन्त्रित्वं वृश्चिके मृत्युतो भयम् ॥२॥
2. siṃhabhe śatrubādhā syāt kanyāyāṃ strījanāt sukham .
tulabhe rājamantritvaṃ vṛścike mṛtyuto bhayam.

2. In Leo (siṃha-bha), there will be obstruction from enemies. In Virgo (kanyā), there is happiness from women. In Libra (tulā-bha), there is the position of a royal minister. And in Scorpio (vṛścika), there is fear from death.
अर्थलाभो भवेच्चापे मेषस्य नवभागके ।
फलमेवं विजानीयं दशाकाले द्विजोत्तम ॥३॥
3. arthalābho bhaveccāpe meṣasya navabhāgake .
phalamevaṃ vijānīyaṃ daśākāle dvijottama.

3. O best among the twice-born (dvijottama), one should understand the results in this manner: a gain of wealth will occur during the planetary period (daśā) when the navamśa of Aries is in Sagittarius.
मकरे पापकर्माणि कुम्भे वाणिज्यतो धनम् ।
मीने सर्वार्थसिद्धिश्च वृश्चिके वह्नितो भयम् ॥४॥
4. makare pāpakarmāṇi kumbhe vāṇijyato dhanam .

4. When in Capricorn, there are sinful deeds. When in Aquarius, there is wealth from commerce. In Pisces, there is the accomplishment of all aims. And in Scorpio, there is fear from fire.
तुलभे राजपूजा च कन्यायां शत्रुतो भयम् ।
कर्के पत्नीजने कष्टं सिंहभे नेत्रपीडनम् ॥५॥
5. tulabhe rājapūjā ca kanyāyāṃ śatruto bhayam .

5. When in Libra, there is royal honor. In Virgo, there is fear from enemies. In Cancer, there is trouble concerning the wife's relatives. In Leo, there is eye affliction.
मिथुने विषतो भीतिर्वृषस्य नवमांशके ।
वृषभे धनलाभः स्थान्मेषे तु ज्वरसंभवः ॥६॥
6. mithune viṣato bhītirvṛṣasya navamāṃśake .
vṛṣabhe dhanalābhaḥ sthānmeṣe tu jvarasaṃbhavaḥ.

6. When in Gemini, there is fear from poison (viṣa). When the navamśa of Taurus is in Taurus, there will be a gain of wealth. But when in Aries, there is a possibility of fever.
मीने च मातुलप्रीतिः कुम्भे शत्रुप्रवर्धनम् ।
मकरे चोरतो भीतिश्चापे विद्याविवर्धनम् ॥७॥
7. mīne ca mātulaprītiḥ kumbhe śatrupravardhanam .

7. When in Pisces, there is affection for one's maternal uncle. In Aquarius, there is an increase of enemies. In Capricorn, there is fear from thieves, and in Sagittarius, there is a growth of knowledge.
मेषे तु शस्त्रसंघातो वृषे तु कलहो भवेत् ।
मिथुने सुखमाप्नोति मिथुनांशे फलं त्विदम् ॥८॥
8. meṣe tu śastrasaṃghāto vṛṣe tu kalaho bhavet .
mithune sukhamāpnoti mithunāṃśe phalaṃ tvidam.

8. When in Aries, there is conflict or injury from weapons. In Taurus, there will be disputes. In Gemini, one attains happiness. This specific outcome occurs in the Gemini decanate.
कर्कटे सुखमाप्नोति सिंहे भूपालतो भयम् ।
कन्यायां बन्धुतः सौख्यं तुलभे कीर्तिमाप्नुयात् ॥९॥
9. karkaṭe sukhamāpnoti siṃhe bhūpālato bhayam .
kanyāyāṃ bandhutaḥ saukhyaṃ tulabhe kīrtimāpnuyāt.

9. When in Cancer, one experiences happiness. In Leo, there is fear from rulers. In Virgo, happiness comes from relatives, and in Libra, one would attain fame.
वृश्चिके च पितुः कष्टं चापे ज्ञानधनागमः ।
मकरे त्वयशो लोके कुम्भे वाणिज्यतः क्षतिः ॥१०॥
10. vṛścike ca pituḥ kaṣṭaṃ cāpe jñānadhanāgamaḥ .
makare tvayaśo loke kumbhe vāṇijyataḥ kṣatiḥ.

10. When in Scorpio, there is trouble for the father. In Sagittarius, there is an acquisition of knowledge and wealth. In Capricorn, there is indeed dishonor in the world, and in Aquarius, there is loss due to commerce.
मीने सुखमाप्नोति कर्कांशे फलमीदृशम् ।
वृश्चिके कलहः पीडा तुलभे सुखसम्पदः ॥११॥
11. mīne sukhamāpnoti karkāṃśe phalamīdṛśam .
vṛścike kalahaḥ pīḍā tulabhe sukhasampadaḥ.

11. One experiences happiness in Pisces. Similar results are found in the Cancer division (or ascendant). In Scorpio, there are disputes and suffering. In Libra, there is happiness and prosperity.
कन्यायां धनधान्यानि कर्के पशुगणाद् भयम् ।
सिंहे सुखं च दुःखं च मिथुने शत्रुवर्धनम् ॥१२॥
12. kanyāyāṃ dhanadhānyāni karke paśugaṇād bhayam .
siṃhe sukhaṃ ca duḥkhaṃ ca mithune śatruvardhanam.

12. In Virgo, there is wealth and grains. In Cancer, there is fear from animals. In Leo, there is both happiness and sorrow. In Gemini, there is an increase of enemies.
वृषे च सुखसम्पत्तिः मेषे कष्टमवाप्नुयात् ।
मीने तु दीर्घयात्रा स्यात् सिंहांशे फलमीदृशम् ॥१३॥
13. vṛṣe ca sukhasampattiḥ meṣe kaṣṭamavāpnuyāt .
mīne tu dīrghayātrā syāt siṃhāṃśe phalamīdṛśam.
13. vṛṣe ca sukhasampattiḥ meṣe kaṣṭam avāpnuyāt
mīne tu dīrghayātrā syāt siṃhāṃśe phalam īdṛśam
13. In Taurus, there is happiness and prosperity. In Aries, one may attain trouble. However, in Pisces, there would be a long journey. Such results are found in the Leo division (or ascendant).
कुम्भभे धनलाभः स्यान्मकरेऽपि धनागमः ।
चापे भ्रातृजनात् सौख्यं मेषे मातृसुखं वदेत् ॥१४॥
14. kumbhabhe dhanalābhaḥ syānmakare'pi dhanāgamaḥ .
cāpe bhrātṛjanāt saukhyaṃ meṣe mātṛsukhaṃ vadet.

cāpe bhrātṛjanāt saukhyam meṣe mātṛsukham vadet
14. There may be gain of wealth in Aquarius, and also gain of wealth in Capricorn. In Sagittarius, there is happiness from siblings or relatives. In Aries, one should declare happiness related to the mother.
वृषभे पुत्रसौख्यं च मिथुने शत्रुतो भयम् ।
कर्के दारजनैः प्रीतिः सिंहे व्याधिविवर्धनम् ॥१५॥
15. vṛṣabhe putrasaukhyaṃ ca mithune śatruto bhayam .
karke dārajanaiḥ prītiḥ siṃhe vyādhivivardhanam.

15. In Taurus, there is happiness from sons; in Gemini, fear from enemies. In Cancer, there is affection from one's wife and family members. In Leo, there is an increase in diseases.
कन्यायां च सुतोत्पत्तिः कन्यांशे फलमीदृशम् ।
तुलभे धनसम्पत्तिर्वृश्चिके भ्रातृतः सुखम् ॥१६॥
16. kanyāyāṃ ca sutotpattiḥ kanyāṃśe phalamīdṛśam .
tulabhe dhanasampattirvṛścike bhrātṛtaḥ sukham.

16. In Virgo, there is the birth of children; such is the result when it is in the Aṃśa (divisional chart) of Virgo. In Libra, there is acquisition of wealth, and in Scorpio, happiness from brothers.
पितृवर्गसुखं चापे मातृकष्टं मृगे वदेत् ।
कुम्भे वाणिज्यतो लाभं मीने च सुखसम्पदम् ॥१७॥
17. pitṛvargasukhaṃ cāpe mātṛkaṣṭaṃ mṛge vadet .
kumbhe vāṇijyato lābhaṃ mīne ca sukhasampadam.

17. It is stated that in Sagittarius, there is happiness from paternal relatives, and in Capricorn, trouble for the mother. In Aquarius, there is gain from trade, and in Pisces, happiness and prosperity.
वृश्चिके च स्त्रीयाः पीडा तुले च जलतो भयम् ।
कन्यायां सुखसम्पत्तिस्तुलांशे फलमीदृशम् ॥१८॥
18. vṛścike ca strīyāḥ pīḍā tule ca jalato bhayam .
kanyāyāṃ sukhasampattistulāṃśe phalamīdṛśam.

18. In Scorpio, there is trouble for women, and in Libra, fear from water. In Virgo, there is happiness and prosperity; such is the result when it is in the Aṃśa (divisional chart) of Libra.

मिथुने भूमिलाभश्च वृशभे धनसम्पदः ॥१९॥
19. karkabhe dhanahāniḥ syāt siṃhe bhūpālato bhayam .

19. When in Cancer (Karkabha), there will be loss of wealth. In Leo (Siṃha), there will be fear from the king. In Gemini (Mithuna), there will be acquisition of land. In Taurus (Vṛṣabha), there will be wealth and prosperity.

कुम्भे वाणिज्यतो लाभो मकरे च धनक्षितः ॥२०॥
20. meṣe tu raktajā pīḍā mīne ca sukhamādiśet .

20. However, in Aries (Meṣa), there will be afflictions related to blood. In Pisces (Mīna), one will experience happiness. In Aquarius (Kumbha), there will be profit from trade. And in Capricorn (Makara), there will be loss of wealth.
चापे च सुखसम्पत्तिर्वृश्चिकांशे फलं त्विदम् ।
मेषे च धनलाभः स्यात् वृषे भूमिविवर्द्धनम् ॥२१॥
21. cāpe ca sukhasampattirvṛścikāṃśe phalaṃ tvidam .
meṣe ca dhanalābhaḥ syāt vṛṣe bhūmivivarddhanam.
21. cāpe ca sukhasampattiḥ vṛścikāṃśe phalam tu idam
meṣe ca dhanalābhaḥ syāt vṛṣe bhūmivivarddhanam
21. In Sagittarius (Cāpa), there will be happiness and prosperity. This very result applies also to the degree of Scorpio (Vṛścikāṃśa). In Aries (Meṣa), there will be gain of wealth. In Taurus (Vṛṣa), there will be an increase in land.
मिथुने सर्वसिद्धिः स्यात् कर्कभे सुखसम्पदः ।
सिंहे सर्वसुखोत्पत्तिः कन्यायां कलहागमः ॥२२॥
22. mithune sarvasiddhiḥ syāt karkabhe sukhasampadaḥ .
siṃhe sarvasukhotpattiḥ kanyāyāṃ kalahāgamaḥ.
22. mithune sarvasiddhiḥ syāt karkabhe sukhasampadaḥ
siṃhe sarvasukhotpattiḥ kanyāyām kalahāgamaḥ
22. In Gemini (Mithuna), there will be achievement of all goals. In Cancer (Karkabha), there will be happiness and prosperity. In Leo (Siṃha), there will be the generation of all happiness. In Virgo (Kanyā), there will be the arrival of quarrels.
तुले वाण्ज्यतो लाभो वृश्चिके रोगजं भयम् ।
चापे पुत्रसुखं वाच्यं धनुरंशे फलं त्विदम् ॥२३॥
23. tule vāṇjyato lābho vṛścike rogajaṃ bhayam .
cāpe putrasukhaṃ vācyaṃ dhanuraṃśe phalaṃ tvidam.
23. tule vāṇjyataḥ lābhaḥ vṛścike rogajam bhayam cāpe
putrasukham vācyam dhanuraṃśe phalam tu idam
23. For the Libra division, there is profit from trade. For the Scorpio division, there is fear arising from illness. For the Sagittarius division, happiness from children should be declared. Such indeed is the outcome for the Sagittarius divisions.
मकरे पुत्रलाभः स्यात् कुम्भे धनविवर्धनम् ।
मीने कल्याणमाप्नोति वृश्चिके पशुतो भयम् ॥२४॥
24. makare putralābhaḥ syāt kumbhe dhanavivardhanam .

24. For the Capricorn division, there is gain of children. For the Aquarius division, there is an increase in wealth. For the Pisces division, one attains welfare. For the Scorpio division, there is fear from animals.
तुलभे त्वर्थलाभः स्यात् कन्यायां शत्रुतो भयम् ।
कर्कटे श्रियमाप्नोति सिंहे शत्रु जनाद् भयम् ॥२५॥
25. tulabhe tvarthalābhaḥ syāt kanyāyāṃ śatruto bhayam .
karkaṭe śriyamāpnoti siṃhe śatru janād bhayam.
25. tulābhe tu arthalābhaḥ syāt kanyāyām śatrutaḥ bhayam
karkaṭe śriyam āpnoti siṃhe śatrujanāt bhayam
25. For the Libra division, there is indeed profit from wealth. For the Virgo division, there is fear from enemies. For the Cancer division, one attains prosperity. For the Leo division, there is fear from hostile people.
मिथुने विषतो भीतिर्मृगांशे फलमीदृशम् ।
वृशभे धनसम्पत्तिर्मेषे नेत्ररुजो भयम् ॥२६॥
26. mithune viṣato bhītirmṛgāṃśe phalamīdṛśam .
vṛśabhe dhanasampattirmeṣe netrarujo bhayam.

vṛṣabhe dhanasampattiḥ meṣe netrarujaḥ bhayam
26. For the Gemini division, there is fear from poison. For the Capricorn division, such indeed are the results. For the Taurus division, there is acquisition of wealth. For the Aries division, there is fear from eye diseases.
मीनभे दीर्घयात्रा स्यात् कुम्भे धनविवर्धनम् ।
मकरे सर्वसिद्धिः स्याच्चापे ज्ञानविवर्धनम् ॥२७॥
27. mīnabhe dīrghayātrā syāt kumbhe dhanavivardhanam .
makare sarvasiddhiḥ syāccāpe jñānavivardhanam.
27. mīnabhe dīrghayātrā syāt kumbhe dhanavivardhanam
makare sarvasiddhiḥ syāt cāpe jñānavivardhanam
27. If it is in the Pisces sign, there will be long journeys. In Aquarius, there will be an increase in wealth. In Capricorn, all achievements will occur, and in Sagittarius, there will be an increase in knowledge.
मेषे सौख्यविनाशः स्यात् वृषभे मरणं भवेत् ।
मिथुने सुखसम्पत्तिः कुम्भांशे फलमीदृशम् ॥२८॥
28. meṣe saukhyavināśaḥ syāt vṛṣabhe maraṇaṃ bhavet .

28. If it is in the Aries sign, there will be destruction of happiness. In Taurus, death may occur. In Gemini, there will be happiness and prosperity. Such results are seen in the Aquarius division.
कर्कटे धनवृद्धिः स्यात् सिंहे राजाश्रयं वदेत् ।
कन्यायां धनधान्यानि तुले वाणिज्यतो धनम् ॥२९॥
29. karkaṭe dhanavṛddhiḥ syāt siṃhe rājāśrayaṃ vadet .
kanyāyāṃ dhanadhānyāni tule vāṇijyato dhanam.
29. karkaṭe dhanavṛddhiḥ syāt siṃhe rājāśrayam vadet
kanyāyām dhanadhānyāni tule vāṇijyataḥ dhanam
29. If it is in the Cancer sign, there will be an increase in wealth. In Leo, it is stated there will be royal patronage. In Virgo, there will be wealth and grains. In Libra, wealth comes through commerce.
वृश्चिके ज्वरजा पीडा चापे ज्ञानसुखोदयः ।
मकरे स्त्रीविरोधः स्यात् कुम्भे च जलतो भयम् ॥३०॥
30. vṛścike jvarajā pīḍā cāpe jñānasukhodayaḥ .
makare strīvirodhaḥ syāt kumbhe ca jalato bhayam.
30. vṛścike jvarajā pīḍā cāpe jñānasukhodayaḥ makare
strīvirodhaḥ syāt kumbhe ca jalataḥ bhayam
30. If it is in the Scorpio sign, there will be affliction caused by fever. In Sagittarius, there will be the dawn of knowledge and happiness. In Capricorn, there will be conflict with women. And in Aquarius, there will be fear from water.
मीने तु सर्वसौभाग्यं मीनांशे फलमीदृशम् ।
दशाद्यंशक्रमेणैव ज्ञात्वा सर्वफलं वदेत् ॥३१॥
31. mīne tu sarvasaubhāgyaṃ mīnāṃśe phalamīdṛśam .
daśādyaṃśakrameṇaiva jñātvā sarvaphalaṃ vadet.
31. mīne tu sarvasaubhāgyam mīnāṃśe phalam īdṛśam |
daśādyaṃśakrameṇa eva jñātvā sarvaphalam vadet
31. When the sign is Pisces, there is complete prosperity. If it is the navāṃśa of Pisces, the results are of this specific kind. One should declare all results after accurately understanding them through the sequence of the planetary periods (daśā) and their subdivisions.
क्रूरग्रहदशाकाले शान्तिं कुर्याद् विधानतः ।
ततः शुभमवाप्नोति तद्दशायां न संशयः ॥३२॥
32. krūragrahadaśākāle śāntiṃ kuryād vidhānataḥ .
tataḥ śubhamavāpnoti taddaśāyāṃ na saṃśayaḥ.
32. krūragrahadaśākāle śāntim kuryāt vidhānataḥ |
tataḥ śubham avāpnoti tat daśāyām na saṃśayaḥ
32. During the planetary period (daśā) of malefic planets, one should perform propitiatory rites according to prescribed methods. Thereafter, one undoubtedly attains auspicious results in that same period.
