कुलीरे वृश्चिके राहौ कन्यत्यां चापगेऽपि वा ।
तद्भुक्तो राजसम्मानं वस्त्रवाहनभूषणम् ॥१॥
1. kulīre vṛścike rāhau kanyatyāṃ cāpage'pi vā .

1. When Rāhu is in Cancer, Scorpio, Virgo, or even in Sagittarius, during its period (bhukti) there will be honor from rulers and acquisition of clothes, vehicles, and ornaments.
व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
प्रयाणं पश्चिमे भागे वाहनाम्बरलाभकृत् ॥२॥
2. vyavasāyātphalādhikyaṃ catuṣpājjīvalābhakṛt .
prayāṇaṃ paścime bhāge vāhanāmbaralābhakṛt.

2. There will be an abundance of results from one's profession, and it will cause gains from quadrupeds. There will also be journeys towards the western direction, bringing gains of vehicles and garments.
लग्नादुपचये राहौ शुभग्रहयुतेक्षिते ।
मित्रांशे तुङ्गभागांशे योगकारकसंयुते ॥३॥
3. lagnādupacaye rāhau śubhagrahayutekṣite .
mitrāṃśe tuṅgabhāgāṃśe yogakārakasaṃyute.

mitrāṃśe tuṅgabhāgāṃśe yogakārakasaṃyute
3. If Rahu is in an Upachaya house (3rd, 6th, 10th, or 11th from the ascendant), conjoined with or aspected by a benefic planet, situated in a friendly divisional sign (aṃśa), in an exalted divisional sign, and conjoined with a yoga-karaka planet (a planet that confers auspicious results), then it yields very favorable outcomes.
राज्यलाभं महोत्साहं राजप्रीतिं शुभावहम् ।
करोति सुखसम्पत्तिं दारपुत्रादिवर्द्धनम् ॥४॥
4. rājyalābhaṃ mahotsāhaṃ rājaprītiṃ śubhāvaham .
karoti sukhasampattiṃ dāraputrādivarddhanam.
4. rājyalābham mahotsāham rājaprītim śubhāvaham
karoti sukhasampattim dāraputrādivarddhanam
4. (This yoga) brings gain of kingdom or high position, great enthusiasm, royal favor, auspiciousness, happiness, wealth, and the increase of wife, sons, and so forth.
लग्नाष्ट्मे व्यये राहौ पापयुक्तेऽथ वीक्षिते ।
चौरादिव्रणपीडा च सर्वत्रैवं भवेद्द्विज ॥५॥
5. lagnāṣṭme vyaye rāhau pāpayukte'tha vīkṣite .
caurādivraṇapīḍā ca sarvatraivaṃ bhaveddvija.
5. lagnāṣṭame vyaye rāhau pāpayukte atha vīkṣite
caurādivraṇapīḍā ca sarvatra evam bhavet dvija
5. O twice-born one (dvija), if Rahu is in the eighth or twelfth house from the ascendant, and is conjoined with or aspected by a malefic planet, then trouble from thieves, wounds, and similar afflictions will occur everywhere.
राजद्वारजनद्वेष इष्टबन्धुविनाशनम् ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा च भवत्येव न संशयः ॥६॥
6. rājadvārajanadveṣa iṣṭabandhuvināśanam .
dāraputrādipīḍā ca bhavatyeva na saṃśayaḥ.
6. rājadvarajanadveṣaḥ iṣṭabandhuvināśanam
dāraputrādipīḍā ca bhavati eva na saṃśayaḥ
6. There will certainly be hatred from people at the royal court, destruction of dear relatives, and affliction to wife, sons, and so forth; there is no doubt about it.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा सप्तमस्थानमाश्रिते ।
सदा रोगो महाकष्टं शान्तिं कुर्याद्यथाविधि ।
आरोग्यं सम्पदश्चैव भविष्यन्ति तदा द्विज ॥७॥
7. dvitīyadyūnanāthe vā saptamasthānamāśrite .
sadā rogo mahākaṣṭaṃ śāntiṃ kuryādyathāvidhi .
ārogyaṃ sampadaścaiva bhaviṣyanti tadā dvija.
7. dvitīyadhyūnanāthe vā saptamasthānam
āśrite sadā rogaḥ mahākaṣṭam
śāntim kuryāt yathāvidhi ārogyam
sampadaḥ ca eva bhaviṣyanti tadā dvija
7. O twice-born one (dvija), if the lord of the second or seventh house occupies the seventh house, there will always be disease and great suffering. One should perform propitiation (śānti) rituals according to the rules, and then health and prosperity will certainly be attained.
राहुरन्तर्गते जीवे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे वापि तुङ्गस्वर्क्षांशगेऽपि वा ॥८॥
8. rāhurantargate jīve lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce svakṣetrage vāpi tuṅgasvarkṣāṃśage'pi vā.
8. rāhuḥ antargate jīve lagnāt kendra-trikoṇage | sva-ucce
sva-kṣetrage vā api tuṅga-sva-ṛkṣa-aṃśage api vā
8. When Rahu is operative and Jupiter is under its influence, and Jupiter is located in an angular (kendra) or trinal (trikona) house from the Ascendant, or in its own exaltation sign, or its own sign, or even in its exaltation *navamśa* or its own sign's *navamśa*...
स्थानलाभं मनोधैर्यं शत्रुनाशं महत्सुखम् ।
राजप्रीतिकरं सौख्यं जनोऽतीव समश्नुते ॥९॥
9. sthānalābhaṃ manodhairyaṃ śatrunāśaṃ mahatsukham .
rājaprītikaraṃ saukhyaṃ jano'tīva samaśnute.
9. sthāna-lābham mano-dhairyam śatru-nāśam mahat-sukham
| rāja-prītikaram saukhyam janaḥ atīva samaśnute
9. A person then experiences a great acquisition of status, mental fortitude, destruction of enemies, immense happiness, and comfort that brings governmental favor.
दिनेदिने वृद्धिरपि सितपक्षे शशी यथा ।
वाहनादिधनं भूरि गृहे गोधनसंकुलम् ॥१०॥
10. dinedine vṛddhirapi sitapakṣe śaśī yathā .
vāhanādidhanaṃ bhūri gṛhe godhanasaṃkulam.
10. dine dine vṛddhiḥ api sita-pakṣe śaśī yathā |
vāhana-ādi-dhanam bhūri gṛhe go-dhana-saṅkulam
10. Just as the moon (śaśī) grows day by day in the bright fortnight, there will be increasing prosperity. One's house will become abundant with wealth, including vehicles and cattle (godhana).
नैरृत्ये पश्चिमे भागे प्रयाणं राजदर्शनम् ।
युक्तकार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्यात्स्वदेशे पुनरेष्यति ॥११॥
11. nairṛtye paścime bhāge prayāṇaṃ rājadarśanam .
yuktakāryārthasiddhiḥ syātsvadeśe punareṣyati.
11. nairṛtye paścime bhāge prayāṇam rāja-darśanam |
yukta-kāryārtha-siddhiḥ syāt sva-deśe punaḥ eṣyati
11. There will be travel to the South-West (nairṛtya) and Western regions, and an audience with the government. There will be success in appropriate undertakings, and one will return to one's own country.
उपकारो ब्राह्मणानां तीर्थयात्रादिकर्मणाम् ।
वाहनग्रामलाभश्च देवब्राह्मणपूजनम् ॥१२॥
12. upakāro brāhmaṇānāṃ tīrthayātrādikarmaṇām .
vāhanagrāmalābhaśca devabrāhmaṇapūjanam.
12. upakāraḥ brāhmaṇānām tīrtha-yātrā-ādi-karmaṇām
| vāhana-grāma-lābhaḥ ca deva-brāhmaṇa-pūjanam
12. There will be beneficence towards Brahmins, performance of acts like pilgrimages (tīrtha-yātrā), acquisition of vehicles and villages, and worship of deities and Brahmins.
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
नीचे वाऽस्तङ्गते वापि षष्ठाष्टव्ययराशिगे ॥१३॥
13. putrotsavādisantoṣo nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam .
nīce vā'staṅgate vāpi ṣaṣṭhāṣṭavyayarāśige.
13. putrotsavādisantoṣaḥ nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam
nīce vā astaṅgate vā api ṣaṣṭhāṣṭavyayarāśige
13. Even though there may be joy from events like the birth of a son and constant consumption of sweet food, if (a planet) is debilitated, combust, or located in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house (rāśi), then...
शत्रुक्षेत्रे पापयुक्ते धनहानिर्भविष्यति ।
कर्मविघ्नो भवेत्तस्य मानहानिश्च जायते ॥१४॥
14. śatrukṣetre pāpayukte dhanahānirbhaviṣyati .
karmavighno bhavettasya mānahāniśca jāyate.
14. śatrukṣetre pāpayukte dhanahāniḥ bhaviṣyati
karma-vighnaḥ bhavet tasya mānahāniḥ ca jāyate
14. (If the planet is also) in an enemy's sign or conjoined with malefic planets, then there will be a loss of wealth. Obstacles to (karma) action will occur for that person, and loss of honor will also arise.
कलत्रपुत्रपीडा च हृद्रोगो राजकारकृत् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा लाभे वा धनगेऽपि वा ॥१५॥
15. kalatraputrapīḍā ca hṛdrogo rājakārakṛt .
dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā dhanage'pi vā.
15. kalatraputrapīḍā ca hṛdrogaḥ rājakārakṛt
dāyeśāt kendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā dhanage api vā
15. There will be suffering for spouse and children, heart disease, and royal displeasure. However, if (the planet) is in an angle or trine from the dasha lord, or in the 11th house, or in the 2nd house...
दुश्चिक्ये बलसम्पूर्णे गृहक्षेत्रादिवृद्धिकृत् ।
भोजनाम्बरपश्वादिदानधर्मजपादिकम् ॥१६॥
16. duścikye balasampūrṇe gṛhakṣetrādivṛddhikṛt .
bhojanāmbarapaśvādidānadharmajapādikam.
16. duścikye balasampūrṇe gṛhakṣetrādivṛddhikṛt
bhojanāmbarapaśvādidānadharmajapādikam
16. If (the planet is) very strong in the third house, it causes an increase in houses, lands, and similar possessions. (There will also be) charity (dāna) involving food, clothes, animals, and so forth, along with practices like (dharma) and chanting (japa).
भुक्त्यन्ते राजकोपाच्च द्विमासं देहपीडनम् ।
ज्येष्ठभ्रातुर्विनाशश्च मातृपित्रादिपीडनम् ॥१७॥
17. bhuktyante rājakopācca dvimāsaṃ dehapīḍanam .
jyeṣṭhabhrāturvināśaśca mātṛpitrādipīḍanam.
17. bhukti ante rājakopāt ca dvi-māsam dehapīḍanam
jyeṣṭhabhrātuḥ vināśaḥ ca mātṛpitrādipīḍanam
17. At the end of the sub-period (bhukti), there will be royal displeasure and bodily suffering for two months. There will also be the destruction of an elder brother, and affliction to one's mother, father, and other relatives.
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा रिःफे वा पापसंयुते ।
तद्भुक्तौ धनहानिः स्याद्देहपीडा भविष्यति ॥१८॥
18. dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhre vā riḥphe vā pāpasaṃyute .
tadbhuktau dhanahāniḥ syāddehapīḍā bhaviṣyati.
18. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭha randhre vā riḥphe vā pāpasaṃyute
tat bhuktau dhanahāniḥ syāt dehapīḍā bhaviṣyati
18. If the lord of a planetary period (daśā) is situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house, or is conjoined with malefic planets, then during that planet's sub-period (bhukti), there will be a loss of wealth and physical suffering.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
स्वर्णस्य प्र्तिमादानं शिवपूजं च कार्यते ॥१९॥
19. dvitīyadyūnanāthe vā hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati .
svarṇasya prtimādānaṃ śivapūjaṃ ca kāryate.
19. dvitīya dyūnanāthe vā hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
svarṇasya pratimādānam śivapūjam ca kāryate
19. If (the planetary period's lord) is in the second house, or is the lord of the seventh house, then indeed there will be an untimely death. In such a situation, the giving of a golden idol and the worship of Shiva should be performed.
स्र्/ईशम्भोश्च प्रसादेन ग्रहस्तुष्टो द्विजोत्तम ।
देहारोग्यं प्रकुरुते शान्तिं कुर्याद्विचक्षणम् ॥२०॥
20. sr/īśambhośca prasādena grahastuṣṭo dvijottama .
dehārogyaṃ prakurute śāntiṃ kuryādvicakṣaṇam.
20. śrīśambhoḥ ca prasādena grahaḥ tuṣṭaḥ dvijottama
dehārogyam prakurute śāntim kuryāt vicakṣaṇam
20. And by the grace of the glorious Shiva (Śambhu), O best among brahmins (dvijottama), the satisfied planet bestows good bodily health, and (one) should wisely perform appeasement (śānti).
राहोरन्तर्गते मन्दे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे मूलत्रिकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभराशिगे ॥२१॥
21. rāhorantargate mande lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce mūlatrikoṇe vā duścikye lābharāśige.
21. rāhoḥ antargate mande lagnāt kendratrikoṇage
svocce mūlatrikoṇe vā duścikye lābharāśige
21. When Saturn (Manda) is in the sub-period (antardashā) of Rahu, and Saturn is situated in an angular (kendra) or trine (trikoṇa) house from the Ascendant (lagna), or in its own sign of exaltation (svocca), or in its mūlatrikoṇa sign, or in the third house, or in the eleventh house (of gain)...
तद्भुक्तौ नृपतेः सेवा राजप्रीतिकरी शुभा ।
विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि कृत्वा पुण्यानि भूरिशः ॥२२॥
22. tadbhuktau nṛpateḥ sevā rājaprītikarī śubhā .
vivāhotsavakāryāṇi kṛtvā puṇyāni bhūriśaḥ.
22. tat bhuktau nṛpateḥ sevā rājaprītikrī śubhā
vivāha utsava kāryāṇi kṛtvā puṇyāni bhūriśaḥ
22. During that sub-period (bhukti), service to the king will be auspicious and will lead to royal favor. One performs abundant virtuous acts (puṇya), including marriages and festive undertakings.
आरामकरणे युक्तो तडागं कारयिष्यति ।
शूद्रप्रभुवशादिष्टलाभो गोधनसंग्रहः ॥२३॥
23. ārāmakaraṇe yukto taḍāgaṃ kārayiṣyati .
śūdraprabhuvaśādiṣṭalābho godhanasaṃgrahaḥ.
23. ārāmakaraṇe yuktaḥ taḍāgaṃ kārayiṣyati
śūdraprabhuvaśāt iṣṭalābhaḥ godhanasaṃgrahaḥ
23. Engaged in creating gardens, he will construct tanks. Through the influence of a śūdra master, there will be desired gains and accumulation of cattle wealth.
प्रयाणं पश्चिमे भागे प्रभुमूलाद्धनक्षयः ।
देहालस्यं फलाल्पत्वं स्वदेशे पुनरेष्यति ॥२४॥
24. prayāṇaṃ paścime bhāge prabhumūlāddhanakṣayaḥ .
dehālasyaṃ phalālpatvaṃ svadeśe punareṣyati.
24. prayāṇaṃ paścime bhāge prabhumūlāt dhanakṣayaḥ
dehālasyaṃ phalālpattvaṃ svadeśe punar eṣyati
24. There will be a journey towards the western direction, leading to loss of wealth originating from the master. Physical lethargy and meager results will follow, and he will return to his own country again.
नीचारिक्षेत्रगे मन्दे रन्ध्रे वा व्ययगेऽपि वा ।
नीचारिराजभीतिश्च दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥२५॥
25. nīcārikṣetrage mande randhre vā vyayage'pi vā .
nīcārirājabhītiśca dāraputrādipīḍanam.
25. nīcārikṣetrage mande randhre vā vyayage api
vā nīcārirājabhītiḥ ca dāraputrādipīḍanam
25. When Saturn is located in a debilitated sign, an enemy's sign, the eighth house, or even the twelfth house, there will be fear from low individuals, enemies, and the ruler, along with affliction for one's wife, children, and other dependents.
आत्मबन्धुमनस्तापं दायादजनविग्रहम् ।
व्यवहारे च कलहमकस्माद्भूषणं लभेत् ॥२६॥
26. ātmabandhumanastāpaṃ dāyādajanavigraham .
vyavahāre ca kalahamakasmādbhūṣaṇaṃ labhet.
26. ātmabandhumanastāpaṃ dāyādajanavigraham
vyavahāre ca kalaham akasmāt bhūṣaṇaṃ labhet
26. There will be mental distress for oneself and one's relatives (bandhu), disputes with co-heirs or family members (dāyādajana), and quarrels in business (vyavahāra) matters. Unexpectedly, one may also obtain an ornament.
दायेशात्षष्ठरिष्फे वा रन्ध्रे वा पापसंयुते ।
हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च विवादः शत्रुपीडनम् ॥२७॥
27. dāyeśātṣaṣṭhariṣphe vā randhre vā pāpasaṃyute .
hṛdrogo mānahāniśca vivādaḥ śatrupīḍanam.
27. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭhariṣphe vā randhre vā pāpasaṃyute
hṛdrogaḥ mānahāniḥ ca vivādaḥ śatrupīḍanam
27. When the Dasha (dāyeśa) lord is situated in the sixth, twelfth, or eighth house, or is conjoined with a malefic planet, there will be heart disease, loss of honor, disputes, and harassment from enemies.
अन्यदेशादिसञ्चारो गुल्मवद्वयाधिभाग्भवेत् ।
कुभोजनं कोद्रवादि जातिदुःखाद्भयं भवेत् ॥२८॥
28. anyadeśādisañcāro gulmavadvayādhibhāgbhavet .
kubhojanaṃ kodravādi jātiduḥkhādbhayaṃ bhavet.
28. anyadeśādisañcāraḥ gulmavat vyādhibhāk bhavet
kubhojanaṃ kodravādi jātiduḥkhāt bhayam bhavet
28. There will be travel to other regions, and the person may suffer from diseases like tumors (gulma). There will also be fear arising from unwholesome food, such as kodrava millet, and from distress caused by one's own family or community.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
कृष्णां गां महिषीं दद्याद्दानेमारोग्यमादिशेत् ॥२९॥
29. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati .
kṛṣṇāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyāddānemārogyamādiśet.
29. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
kṛṣṇām gām mahiṣīm dadyāt dāne imām ārogyam ādiśet
29. If the lord of the second and seventh houses is [in a problematic position, implied by context], then an untimely death (apamṛtyu) will occur. One should donate (dāna) a black cow and a buffalo; by performing this donation (dāna), one should prescribe health (ārogyam) as a remedy.
राहोरन्तर्गते सौम्ये भाग्ये वा स्वर्क्षगेऽपि वा ।
तुङ्गे वा केन्द्रराशिस्थे पुत्रे वा बलगेऽपि वा ॥३०॥
30. rāhorantargate saumye bhāgye vā svarkṣage'pi vā .
tuṅge vā kendrarāśisthe putre vā balage'pi vā.
30. rāhoḥ antargate saumye bhāgye vā svarkṣage api vā
tuṅge vā kendrarāśisthe putre vā balage api vā
30. When a benefic planet is in the sub-period (antardaśā) of Rāhu, or is situated in the house of fortune (bhāgya-bhāva), or in its own sign, or in exaltation, or located in a kendra (angular) house, or in the fifth house (putra-bhāva), or is otherwise strong...
राजयोगं प्रकुरुते गृहे कल्याणवर्द्धनम् ।
व्यापारेण धनप्राप्तिविद्यावाहनमुत्तमम् ॥३१॥
31. rājayogaṃ prakurute gṛhe kalyāṇavarddhanam .
vyāpāreṇa dhanaprāptividyāvāhanamuttamam.
31. rājayogam prakurute gṛhe kalyāṇavarddhanam
vyāpāreṇa dhanaprāptividyāvāhanam uttamam
31. This (referring to the conditions from the previous verse) creates a royal combination (rājayoga) and fosters increased well-being in the home. There will be acquisition of wealth (dhana), knowledge (vidyā), and excellent conveyances through one's business endeavors.
विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
सौम्यमासे महत्सौख्यं स्ववारे राजदर्शनम् ॥३२॥
32. vivāhotsavakāryāṇi catuṣpājjīvalābhakṛt .
saumyamāse mahatsaukhyaṃ svavāre rājadarśanam.
32. vivāhotsavakāryāṇi catuṣpāt jīvalābhakṛt
saumyamāse mahat saukhyam svavāre rājadarśanam
32. There will be marriage ceremonies and festive activities, along with gains of four-footed animals. Great happiness will be experienced in a benefic month, and on one's own astrological weekday, there will be an audience with the ruler.
सुगन्धपुष्पशय्यादि स्त्रीसौख्यं चातिरोभनम् ।
महाराजप्रसादेन धनलाभो महद्यशः ॥३३॥
33. sugandhapuṣpaśayyādi strīsaukhyaṃ cātirobhanam .
mahārājaprasādena dhanalābho mahadyaśaḥ.
33. sugandhapuṣpaśayyādi strīsaukkhyam ca atirobhanam
mahārājaprasādena dhanalābhaḥ mahat yaśaḥ
33. Fragrant flower beds and similar comforts, along with exceedingly delightful pleasure from women, gain of wealth, and great fame, all occur by the grace of a great king.
दायेशात्केन्द्रलाभे वा दुश्चिक्ये भाग्यकर्मगे ।
देहारोग्यं हृदुत्साह इष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ॥३४॥
34. dāyeśātkendralābhe vā duścikye bhāgyakarmage .
dehārogyaṃ hṛdutsāha iṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā.
34. dāyeśāt kendralābhe vā duścikkye bhāgyakarmage
dehārogyam hṛdutsāhaḥ iṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā
34. When the lord of the daśā (planetary period) is situated in an angular house, the eleventh house, the third house, or the ninth or tenth house, there will be bodily health, enthusiasm of the heart, and the attainment of desired results which brings happiness.
पुण्यश्लोकादिकीर्तिश्च पुराणश्रवणादिकम् ।
विवाहो यज्ञदीक्षा च दानधर्मदयादिकम् ॥३५॥
35. puṇyaślokādikīrtiśca purāṇaśravaṇādikam .

35. Fame originating from meritorious deeds, along with listening to ancient texts and similar activities. Also, marriage, initiation into a Vedic ritual (yajña), and acts of charity (dāna), adherence to natural law (dharma), compassion, and the like.
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये सौम्ये मन्देनापि युतेक्षिते ।
दायेशात्षष्ठरिःफे वा रन्ध्रे वा पापसंयुते ॥३६॥
36. ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyaye saumye mandenāpi yutekṣite .
dāyeśātṣaṣṭhariḥphe vā randhre vā pāpasaṃyute.

36. When the daśā lord, even if a benefic (saumya), is situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house, or is conjoined with or aspected even by Saturn; or, when the daśā lord is in the sixth, twelfth, or eighth house, being conjoined with a malefic planet.
देवभाह्मणनिन्दा च भोगभाग्यविवर्जितः ।
सत्यहीनश्च दुर्बुद्धिश्चौराहिनृपपीडनम् ॥३७॥
37. devabhāhmaṇanindā ca bhogabhāgyavivarjitaḥ .
satyahīnaśca durbuddhiścaurāhinṛpapīḍanam.

37. There will be condemnation of gods and brahmins, deprivation of enjoyments and fortune, being devoid of truth, having an evil mind, and affliction by thieves, snakes, and kings.
अकस्मात्कलहश्चैव गुरुपुत्रादिनाशनम् ।
अर्थव्ययो राजकोपो दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥३८॥
38. akasmātkalahaścaiva guruputrādināśanam .
arthavyayo rājakopo dāraputrādipīḍanam.

38. There will be sudden quarrels, and indeed, destruction for preceptors and sons. There will be loss of wealth, anger from the king, and affliction to wife and sons.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा ह्यपमृत्युभयं वदेत् ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ॥३९॥
39. dvitīyadyūnanāthe vā hyapamṛtyubhayaṃ vadet .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ viṣṇusāhasrakaṃ japet.
39. dvitīya-dyūna-nāthe vā hi apamṛtyu-bhayam vadet
tat-doṣa-parihāra-artham viṣṇu-sāhasrakam japet
39. When there is a connection with the lord of the second house or the seventh house, one should declare a fear of untimely death. To remedy that fault (doṣa), one should chant the Viṣṇu-sāhasranāma (viṣṇusāhasra).
राहोरन्तर्गते केतौ भ्रमणं राजतो भयम् ।
वातज्वरादिरोगश्च चतुष्पाज्जीवहानिकृत् ॥४०॥
40. rāhorantargate ketau bhramaṇaṃ rājato bhayam .
vātajvarādirogaśca catuṣpājjīvahānikṛt.

vāta-jvara-ādi-rogaḥ ca catuṣ-pāt-jīva-hāni-kṛt
40. When Ketu is in the antar-daśā (antargate) of Rāhu, there will be wandering, fear from the king, and diseases like vāta fever, causing the loss of four-footed animals.
अष्टमाधिसंयुक्ते देहजाड्यं मनोव्यथा ।
शुभयुक्ते शुभैर्दृष्टे देहसौख्यं धनागमः ।
राजसम्मानभूषाप्तिर्गृहे शुभकरो भवेत् ॥४१॥
41. aṣṭamādhisaṃyukte dehajāḍyaṃ manovyathā .
śubhayukte śubhairdṛṣṭe dehasaukhyaṃ dhanāgamaḥ .
rājasammānabhūṣāptirgṛhe śubhakaro bhavet.
41. aṣṭama-adhi-saṃyukte deha-jāḍyam
manaḥ-vyathā śubha-yukte śubhaiḥ dṛṣṭe
deha-saukhyam dhana-āgamaḥ
rāja-sammāna-bhūṣā-āptiḥ gṛhe śubha-karaḥ bhavet
41. When connected with the lord of the eighth house, there will be physical dullness and mental distress. When associated with benefics or aspected by benefics, there will be physical comfort, acquisition of wealth, and attainment of honors and ornaments from the king. It becomes auspicious within the home.
लग्नाधिपेन सम्बन्धे इष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ।
लग्नाधिपसमायुक्ते लाभो वा भवति ध्रुवम् ॥४२॥
42. lagnādhipena sambandhe iṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā .
lagnādhipasamāyukte lābho vā bhavati dhruvam.

42. When there is a connection with the lord of the ascendant (lagna), there is the attainment of desired results, bringing happiness. When associated with the lord of the ascendant, gain certainly occurs.
चतुष्पाज्जिवलाभः स्यात्केन्द्रे वाथ त्रिकोणगे ।
रन्ध्रस्थानगते केतौ व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥४३॥
43. catuṣpājjivalābhaḥ syātkendre vātha trikoṇage .

तद्भुक्तौ बहुरोगः स्याच्चोराहिव्रणपीडनम् ।
पितृमातृवियोगश्च भातृद्वेषो मनोरुजा ॥४४॥

44. During its (Ketu's) sub-period (bhukti), there will be many diseases, affliction from thieves, snakes, and wounds, separation from father and mother, hostility from brothers, and mental anguish.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं छागदानं च कारयेत् ॥४५॥
45. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehabādhā bhaviṣyati .

45. Furthermore, if the lord of the 2nd and 7th houses (dvitīyadyūnanāthe) is [afflicted], physical suffering (dehabādhā) will occur. To mitigate this defect, one should perform the gifting (dāna) of a goat.
राहोरन्तर्गते शुक्रे कग्नात्केन्द्गत्रिकोणगे ।
लाभे वा बलसंयुक्ते योगप्राबल्यमादिशेत् ॥४६॥
46. rāhorantargate śukre kagnātkendgatrikoṇage .

46. When Venus (śukra) is in Rahu's sub-period (antardaśā), and Venus is located in an angular (kendra) or trine (trikoṇa) house from the ascendant (lagna), or in the 11th house (lābha) and endowed with strength (bala), one should predict a very powerful astrological combination (yoga).
विप्रमूलाद्धनप्राप्तिर्गोमहिष्यादिलाभकृत् ।
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥४७॥
47. vipramūlāddhanaprāptirgomahiṣyādilābhakṛt .

47. There will be acquisition of wealth from Brahmins (vipra), gains of cows, buffaloes, and other such animals, joy from celebrations related to children, and the occurrence of auspicious events in the home.
सम्मानं राजसम्मनं राज्यलाभो महत्सुखम् ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि तुङ्गांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥४८॥
48. sammānaṃ rājasammanaṃ rājyalābho mahatsukham .
svocce vā svarkṣage vāpi tuṅgāṃśe svāṃśage'pi vā.

48. One experiences honor, royal recognition, the acquisition of a kingdom, and great happiness when a planet is situated in its own sign of exaltation, or in its own sign, or even in its exaltation divisional chart (aṃśa), or in its own divisional chart (aṃśa).
नूतनं गृहनिर्माणं नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनं ।
कलत्रपुत्रविभवं मित्रसंगः सुभोजनम् ॥४९॥
49. nūtanaṃ gṛhanirmāṇaṃ nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanaṃ .
kalatraputravibhavaṃ mitrasaṃgaḥ subhojanam.

49. New house construction, a regular diet of sweet delicacies, prosperity related to one's wife and sons, the company of friends, and good food are attained.
अन्नदानं प्रियं नित्यं दानधर्मादिसंग्रहः ।
महाराजप्रसादेन वाहनाम्बरभूषणं ॥५०॥
50. annadānaṃ priyaṃ nityaṃ dānadharmādisaṃgrahaḥ .

50. There is a constant and pleasant giving of food (dāna), an accumulation of charitable (dāna) and righteous (dharma) deeds, and by the grace of a great king, one acquires vehicles, garments, and ornaments.
व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं विवाहो मौञ्जिबन्धनम् ।
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये शुक्रे नीचे शत्रुगृहे स्थिते ॥५१॥
51. vyavasāyātphalādhikyaṃ vivāho mauñjibandhanam .
ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyaye śukre nīce śatrugṛhe sthite.

52. When (Venus is) conjoined with Saturn (Manda) and Rāhu or Ketu (Phaṇī), one should predict disease during its (Venus's) sub-period (bhukti). Furthermore, there will be sudden quarrels and the causing of separation from one's father and son.
स्वबन्धुजनहानिश्च सर्वत्र जनपीडनम् ।
दायादकलहश्चैव स्वप्रभोः स्वस्य मृत्युकृत् ॥५३॥
53. svabandhujanahāniśca sarvatra janapīḍanam .
dāyādakalahaścaiva svaprabhoḥ svasya mṛtyukṛt.

53. There will be the loss of one's own relatives and harassment of people everywhere. Furthermore, there will be disputes over inheritance, leading to the death of one's own master and oneself.
कलत्रपुत्रपीडा च शूलरोगादिसम्भवः ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रराशिस्थे त्रिकोणे वा समन्विते ॥५४॥
54. kalatraputrapīḍā ca śūlarogādisambhavaḥ .

54. There will be distress to one's spouse and children, and the onset of diseases like colic. This occurs when the relevant planet is situated in a Kendra (angular house) or Trikona (trinal house) from the lord of the daśā (planetary period), or is associated with such a position.
लाभे वा कर्मराशिस्थे क्षेत्रपालमहत्सुखम् ।
सुगन्धवस्त्रशय्यादि गानवाद्यसुखं भवेत् ॥५५॥
55. lābhe vā karmarāśisthe kṣetrapālamahatsukham .
sugandhavastraśayyādi gānavādyasukhaṃ bhavet.

55. When the relevant planet is in the house of gain (11th house) or the house of action (10th house), there will be great happiness from guardians of the land. One will enjoy fragrant clothes, comfortable beds, and the pleasure of music and singing.

दायेशाद्रिपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥५६॥
56. chatracāmarabhūṣāptiḥ priyavastusamanvitā .

56. There will be the acquisition of royal insignias (umbrellas and whisks), ornaments, and other cherished possessions. Conversely, when the planet (referring to the operating planet or lord) is in the 6th (enemy), 8th (danger), or 12th (loss) house from the daśā lord, or is associated with malefic planets...
विप्राहिनृपचौरादिमूत्रकृच्छ्रान्महद्भयम् ।
प्रमेहाद्रौधिरो रोगः कुत्सितान्नं शिरोव्यथा ॥५७॥

57. Following the conditions in the previous verse, there will be great fear from Brahmins, snakes, kings, thieves, and from painful urination (dysuria). There will also be blood-related diseases due to urinary disorders (like diabetes), consumption of repulsive food, and headaches.
कारागृहप्रवेशश्च राजदण्डाद्धनक्षयः ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा दारपुत्रादिनाशनम् ॥५८॥
58. kārāgṛhapraveśaśca rājadaṇḍāddhanakṣayaḥ .

58. When the lord of the second and seventh houses (is unfavorably placed), there will be imprisonment and loss of wealth from royal punishment, or destruction of one's wife, children, and so forth.

दुर्गालक्ष्मीजपं कुर्यात् ततःसुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥५९॥
59. ātmapīḍā bhayaṃ caiva hyapamṛtyubhayaṃ bhavet .
durgālakṣmījapaṃ kuryāt tataḥsukhamavāpnuyāt.

59. There will be distress to the self (ātman), fear, and indeed, the fear of untimely death. One should perform recitation (japa) of Durgā and Lakṣmī (mantras), and then happiness will be attained.
राहोरन्तर्गते सूर्ये स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ।
त्रिकोणे लाभगे वाऽपि तुङ्गांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥६०॥
60. rāhorantargate sūrye svocce svakṣetrakendrage .
trikoṇe lābhage vā'pi tuṅgāṃśe svāṃśage'pi vā.

60. When the Sun is in the sub-period (antardashā) of Rāhu, and the Sun is in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign, or in a kendra house, or in a trine house, or in the house of gains, or even in its exaltation navamsha, or in its own navamsha.
शुभग्रहेण सन्दृष्टे राजप्रीतिकरं शुभम् ।
धनधान्यसमृद्धिश्च ह्यल्पमान सुखवाहम् ॥६१॥
61. śubhagraheṇa sandṛṣṭe rājaprītikaraṃ śubham .
dhanadhānyasamṛddhiśca hyalpamāna sukhavāham.

61. When (the Sun is also) aspected by an auspicious planet, there will be royal favor and auspiciousness, prosperity of wealth and grain, and indeed, modest honor and comfortable conveyances.
अल्पग्रामाधिपत्यं च स्वल्पलाभो भविष्यति ।
भाग्यलग्नेशसंयुक्ते कर्मेशेन निरीक्षिते ॥६२॥
62. alpagrāmādhipatyaṃ ca svalpalābho bhaviṣyati .
bhāgyalagneśasaṃyukte karmeśena nirīkṣite.

62. There will be rule over a small village and modest gains when (the Sun is) conjoined with the lord of the house of fortune (bhāgya) and the lord of the ascendant, and also aspected by the lord of the house of profession (karma).
राजाश्रयो महाकीर्तिर्विदेशगमनं तथा ।
देशाधिपत्ययोगश्च गजश्वाम्बरभूषणम् ॥६३॥
63. rājāśrayo mahākīrtirvideśagamanaṃ tathā .
deśādhipatyayogaśca gajaśvāmbarabhūṣaṇam.
63. rājāśrayaḥ mahākīrtiḥ videśagamanam tathā
deśādhipatya-yogaḥ ca gajaśvāmbara-bhūṣaṇam
63. One attains royal patronage, great fame, foreign travel, and the attainment of dominion over a country, along with elephants, horses, garments, and ornaments.
मनोऽभिष्टप्रदानं च पुत्रकल्याणसम्भवम् ।
दयेशाद्रिःफरन्ध्रस्थे षष्ठे वा नीचगेऽपि वा ॥६४॥
64. mano'bhiṣṭapradānaṃ ca putrakalyāṇasambhavam .
dayeśādriḥpharandhrasthe ṣaṣṭhe vā nīcage'pi vā.
64. manas abhiṣṭapradānam ca putrakalyāṇasambhavam
dayeśaḥ adri-ripha-randhrasthe ṣaṣṭhe vā nīcage api vā
64. One will experience the granting of desired wishes and the welfare of one's sons. However, if the lord of the Lagna is situated in the 7th, 6th, or 8th house, or is debilitated, then (the following negative effects occur).
ज्वरातिसाररोगश्च कलहो राजविग्रहः ।
प्रयाणं शत्रुवृद्धिश्च न्रिपचौराग्निपीडनम् ॥६५॥
65. jvarātisārarogaśca kalaho rājavigrahaḥ .
prayāṇaṃ śatruvṛddhiśca nripacaurāgnipīḍanam.

65. (If the conditions from the previous verse are met, then there will be) fever, diarrhea, and other diseases, quarrels, conflict with the government, troublesome journeys, an increase in enemies, and affliction from rulers, thieves, or fire.
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ।
विदेशे राजसम्मानं कल्याणं च शुभावहम् ॥६६॥
66. dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā daścikye lābhage'pi vā .
videśe rājasammānaṃ kalyāṇaṃ ca śubhāvaham.

videśe rājasammānam kalyāṇam ca śubhāvaham
66. When the lord of the daśā (planetary period) is in a Kendra (angular) or Trikona (trine) house, or in the 3rd or 10th house, or in the 11th house of gains, then there will be royal honor in foreign lands, and general welfare and auspiciousness.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु महारोगो भविष्यति ।
सूर्यप्रणामं शान्तिं च कुर्यादारोग्यसम्भवाम् ॥६७॥
67. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu mahārogo bhaviṣyati .
sūryapraṇāmaṃ śāntiṃ ca kuryādārogyasambhavām.

67. If the lord of the 2nd and 7th houses is (afflicted or poorly placed), a great disease will manifest. One should therefore perform salutations and propitiatory rites to the Sun for the attainment of health.
राहोरन्तर्गते चन्द्रे स्वक्षेत्रे स्वोच्चगेऽपि वा ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा मित्रर्क्षे शुभसंयुते ॥६८॥
68. rāhorantargate candre svakṣetre svoccage'pi vā .
kendratrikoṇalābhe vā mitrarkṣe śubhasaṃyute.

68. When the Moon is situated within Rahu's influence, or if it is in its own sign, or in its exaltation sign; or when it is in an angle (kendra), a trine (trikoṇa), or a house of gain, and is conjoined with benefics in a friendly sign (mitrarkṣa).
राजत्वं राजपूज्यत्वं धनार्थं धनलाभकृत् ।
आरोग्यं भूषण्ं चैव मित्रस्त्रीपुत्रसम्पदः ॥६९॥
69. rājatvaṃ rājapūjyatvaṃ dhanārthaṃ dhanalābhakṛt .
ārogyaṃ bhūṣaṇṃ caiva mitrastrīputrasampadaḥ.

69. One obtains kingship, honor from kings, and acquires wealth, leading to financial gains. There will be good health, ornaments, and prosperity through friends, wives, and sons.
पूर्णे चन्द्रे फलं पूर्णं राजप्रीत्या शुभावहम् ।
अश्ववाहनलाभः स्यद्गृहक्षेत्रादिवृद्धिकृत् ॥७०॥
70. pūrṇe candre phalaṃ pūrṇaṃ rājaprītyā śubhāvaham .
aśvavāhanalābhaḥ syadgṛhakṣetrādivṛddhikṛt.

70. When the Moon is full, the results are complete and bring auspiciousness through royal favor. There will be gains of horses and vehicles, and an increase in houses, fields, and other such possessions.
दायेशात्सुखभाग्यस्थे केन्द्रे वा लाभगेऽपि वा ।
लक्ष्मीकटाक्षचिह्नानि गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥७१॥
71. dāyeśātsukhabhāgyasthe kendre vā lābhage'pi vā .
lakṣmīkaṭākṣacihnāni gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavaḥ.
71. dāyeśāt sukhabhāgyasthe keandre vā lābhage api
vā lakṣmīkaṭākṣacihnāni gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavaḥ
71. When (the Moon is) situated in a house of happiness (sukha) or fortune (bhāgya), or in an angle (kendra) or house of gain (lābha) from the Daśā lord, there will be signs of the grace (kaṭākṣa) of Goddess Lakshmi, and the occurrence of auspicious events at home.
सर्वकार्यसिद्धिः स्याद्धनधान्यसुखावहा ।
सत्कीर्तिलाभसम्मानं देव्याराधनमाचरेत् ॥७२॥
72. sarvakāryasiddhiḥ syāddhanadhānyasukhāvahā .
satkīrtilābhasammānaṃ devyārādhanamācaret.
72. sarvakāryasiddhiḥ syāt dhanadhānyasukhāvahā
satkīrtilābhasammānaṃ devyārādhanam ācaret
72. There will be success in all undertakings, bringing wealth, grain, and happiness. Also, there will be gains of good reputation and honor. One should perform the worship of the Goddess.
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ।
पिशाचक्षुद्रव्याघ्राद्य्सिर्गृहक्षेत्रार्थनाशनम् ॥७३॥
73. dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhrasthe vyaye vā balavarjite .
piśācakṣudravyāghrādysirgṛhakṣetrārthanāśanam.
73. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭha-randhra-sthe vyaye vā bala-varjite |
pishāca-kṣudra-vyāghra-ādi-sṛṣṭiḥ gṛha-kṣetra-artha-nāśanam
73. When the lord of the planetary period (daśā) is devoid of strength and located in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house, it causes the destruction of one's house, land, and wealth through the agency of demons, small animals, tigers, and similar beings.
मार्गे चौरभयं चैव व्रणाधिक्य महोदयम् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु अपमृत्युस्तदा भवेत् ॥७४॥
74. mārge caurabhayaṃ caiva vraṇādhikya mahodayam .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu apamṛtyustadā bhavet.
74. mārge caura-bhayam ca eva vraṇa-ādhikyam maha-udayam
| dvitīya-dyūna-nāthe tu apa-mṛtyuḥ tadā bhavet
74. There is also fear of thieves on the road and a great incidence of wounds. Moreover, if the lord of the 2nd or 7th house is involved, then an untimely death (apamṛtyu) may occur.
श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्याद् विप्रायारोग्यसिद्धये ।
ततः सौख्यमवाप्नोति चन्द्रग्रहप्रसादतः ॥७५॥
75. śvetāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyād viprāyārogyasiddhaye .
tataḥ saukhyamavāpnoti candragrahaprasādataḥ.
75. śvetām gām mahiṣīm dadyāt viprāya ārogya-siddhaye
| tataḥ saukhyam avāpnoti candra-graha-prasādataḥ
75. One should donate a white cow or a buffalo to a Brahmin for the attainment of good health. Then, one achieves happiness through the grace (prasāda) of the Moon (graha).
राहोरन्तर्गते भौमे लग्नाल्लाभत्रिकोणगे ।
केन्द्रे वा शुभसंयुक्ते स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगेऽपि वा ॥७६॥
76. rāhorantargate bhaume lagnāllābhatrikoṇage .
kendre vā śubhasaṃyukte svocce svakṣetrage'pi vā.
76. rāhoḥ antargate bhaume lagnāt lābha-trikoṇa-ge | kendre
vā śubha-saṃyukte sva-ucche sva-kṣetra-ge api vā
76. When Mars (bhauma) is in the sub-period (antardaśā) of Rāhu, and Mars is located from the ascendant (lagna) in the 11th house, a trine (5th or 9th house), or an angular house (kendra), or is conjoined with auspicious planets, or is in its own exaltation sign (svocca), or in its own sign (svakṣetra).
नष्टराज्यधन्प्राप्तिर्गृहक्षेत्राभिवृद्धिकृत् ।
इष्टदेवप्रसादेन सन्तानसुखभाग्भवेत् ॥७७॥
77. naṣṭarājyadhanprāptirgṛhakṣetrābhivṛddhikṛt .
iṣṭadevaprasādena santānasukhabhāgbhavet.
77. naṣṭa-rājya-dhan-prāptiḥ gṛha-kṣetra-abhivṛddhi-kṛt
| iṣṭa-deva-prasādena santāna-sukha-bhāk bhavet
77. There will be attainment of lost kingdom and wealth, and an increase in one's house and land. Through the grace (prasāda) of one's chosen deity (iṣṭa-deva), one becomes a partaker of the happiness of progeny.
क्षिप्रभोज्यान्महत्सौख्यं भूषणश्वाम्बरादिकृत् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ॥७८॥
78. kṣiprabhojyānmahatsaukhyaṃ bhūṣaṇaśvāmbarādikṛt .
dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā duścikye lābhage'pi vā.
78. kṣiprabhojyān mahat saukhyam bhūṣaṇaḥ ca ambarādi
kṛt dāyeśāt kendrakoṇe vā duścikye lābhage api vā
78. When the lord of the daśā (planetary period) is located in a quadrant (kendra) or trine (koṇa) house, or even in the 3rd or 11th house, there will be swift enjoyment of food, great happiness, and the acquisition of ornaments, garments, and the like.
रक्तवस्त्रादिलाभः स्यात्प्रयाणं राजदर्शनम् ।
पुत्रवर्गेषु कल्याणं स्वप्रभोश्च महत्सुखम् ॥७९॥
79. raktavastrādilābhaḥ syātprayāṇaṃ rājadarśanam .
putravargeṣu kalyāṇaṃ svaprabhośca mahatsukham.
79. raktavastrādi lābhaḥ syāt prayāṇam rājadarśanam
putravargeṣu kalyāṇam svaprabhoḥ ca mahat sukham
79. There will be gains of red garments and similar items, journeys, an audience with royalty, well-being for one's children, and great happiness for one's own lord or master.
सेनपत्यं महोत्साहो भ्रातृवर्गधनागमः ।
दायेशाद्रन्ध्ररिःफे वा षष्ठे पापसमन्विते ॥८०॥
80. senapatyaṃ mahotsāho bhrātṛvargadhanāgamaḥ .
dāyeśādrandhrariḥphe vā ṣaṣṭhe pāpasamanvite.
80. senapatyam mahā utsāhaḥ bhrātṛvarga dhana āgamaḥ
dāyeśāt randhrariḥphe vā ṣaṣṭhe pāpa samanvite
80. Generalship, great enthusiasm, and the acquisition of wealth for one's family of brothers (occur). However, if the daśā (planetary period) lord is in the 8th (randhra) or 12th (riḥpha) house, or in the 6th house associated with a malefic planet...
पुत्रदारादिहानिश्च सूदराणां च पीडनम् ।
स्थानभ्रंशो बन्धुवर्गदारपुत्रविरोधनम् ॥८१॥
81. putradārādihāniśca sūdarāṇāṃ ca pīḍanam .
sthānabhraṃśo bandhuvargadāraputravirodhanam.
81. putra dārādi hāniḥ ca sūdarāṇām ca pīḍanam
sthānabhraṃśaḥ bandhuvarga dāra putra virodhanam
81. ... (there will be) loss of children and spouse, affliction for servants, loss of position, and discord with relatives, wife, and children.
चौराहिव्रणभीतिश्च स्वदेहस्य च पीडनम् ।
आदौ क्लेशकरं चैव मध्यान्ते सौखमाप्नुयात् ॥८२॥
82. caurāhivraṇabhītiśca svadehasya ca pīḍanam .
ādau kleśakaraṃ caiva madhyānte saukhamāpnuyāt.
82. caurāhivraṇabhītiḥ ca svadehasya ca pīḍanam ādau
kleśakaram ca eva madhyānte saukham āpnuyāt
82. There will be fear of thieves, snakes, and wounds, and affliction of one's own body. Initially, there will be distress, but in the middle and toward the end (of the daśā), one may attain happiness.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहालस्यं महद्भयम् ।
अनड्वाहं च गां दद्यादारोग्यसुखलब्धये ॥८३॥
83. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehālasyaṃ mahadbhayam .
anaḍvāhaṃ ca gāṃ dadyādārogyasukhalabdhaye.
83. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehālasyam mahat bhayam
anadvāham ca gām dadyāt ārogyasukhalabdhaye
83. When the lord of the seventh house is in the second house, there will be bodily illness and great fear. One should offer a bullock and a cow for the attainment of health and happiness.
