कथ्याम्यथा भावानां खेटानां च पदं द्विज ।
तद्विशेषफलं ज्ञातुं यथोक्तं प्राङ् महर्षिभिः ॥१॥
1. kathyāmyathā bhāvānāṃ kheṭānāṃ ca padaṃ dvija .
tadviśeṣaphalaṃ jñātuṃ yathoktaṃ prāṅ maharṣibhiḥ.

1. O Brahmin (dvija), I shall now explain the padas of the houses (bhāvas) and planets (kheṭas). This explanation is given to understand their specific results, as it was previously stated by the great sages (maharṣis).
लग्नाद् यावतिथे राशौ तिष्ठेल्लग्नेश्वरः क्रमात् ।
ततस्तावतिथे राशौ लग्नस्य पदमुच्यते ॥२॥
2. lagnād yāvatithe rāśau tiṣṭhellagneśvaraḥ kramāt .
tatastāvatithe rāśau lagnasya padamucyate.
2. lagnāt yāvatithe rāśau tiṣṭhet lagneśvaraḥ kramāt

2. From the ascendant (lagna), count the number of houses (rāśis) to the house where the lord of the ascendant (lagneśvara) is situated. Then, counting the same number of houses sequentially from the house of the ascendant lord, that resulting house (rāśi) is called the Lagna pada.
सर्वेषामाप भावानां ज्ञेयमेवं पदं द्विज ।
तनुभावपदं तत्र बुधा मुख्यपदं विदुः ॥३॥
3. sarveṣāmāpa bhāvānāṃ jñeyamevaṃ padaṃ dvija .
tanubhāvapadaṃ tatra budhā mukhyapadaṃ viduḥ.
3. sarveṣām api bhāvānām jñeyam evam padam dvija
| tanubhāvapadam tatra budhā mukhyapadam viduḥ
3. O Brahmin (dvija), the pada for all houses (bhāvas) should similarly be known in this way. Among these, the intelligent ones (budhas) consider the Lagna pada (tanubhāvāpada) to be the principal pada.
स्वस्थानं सप्तमं नैवं पदं भवितुमर्हति ।
तस्मिन् पदत्वे विज्ञेयं मध्यं तुर्यं क्रमात् पदम् ॥४॥
4. svasthānaṃ saptamaṃ naivaṃ padaṃ bhavitumarhati .
tasmin padatve vijñeyaṃ madhyaṃ turyaṃ kramāt padam.
4. svasthānam saptamam na evam padam bhavitum arhati |
tasmin padatve vijñeyam madhyam turyam kramāt padam
4. The seventh house (saptamaṃ) from a given house cannot be its pada. If the calculated pada falls in the seventh house from itself, then the fourth house (turyaṃ) from that given house should be considered the pada in sequence.
यथा तुर्यस्थिते नाथे तुर्यमेव पदं भवेत् ।
सप्तमे च स्थिते नाथे विज्ञेयं दशमं पदम् ॥५॥
5. yathā turyasthite nāthe turyameva padaṃ bhavet .
saptame ca sthite nāthe vijñeyaṃ daśamaṃ padam.

5. For instance, when the lord (nātha) is situated in the fourth house (turya) from itself, the fourth house itself becomes the pada. And, when the lord (nātha) is situated in the seventh house (saptame) from itself, the tenth house (daśamaṃ) should be understood as the pada.
यस्माद् यावतिथे राशौ खेटात् तद्भवनं द्विज ।
ततस्तावतिथं राशिं खेटारूढं प्रचक्षते ॥६॥
6. yasmād yāvatithe rāśau kheṭāt tadbhavanaṃ dvija .
tatastāvatithaṃ rāśiṃ kheṭārūḍhaṃ pracakṣate.
6. yasmāt yāvatithe rāśau kheṭāt tat bhavanam dvija
tataḥ tāvatitham rāśim kheṭārūḍham pracakṣate
6. O Brahmin (dvija), determine the number of signs from a planet (kheṭa) to its own house. Then, counting that same number of signs from the planet itself, the resulting sign is called the 'kheṭārūḍha' (planet-ascendant).
द्विनाथद्विभयोरेवं विज्ञेयं सबलावधि ।
विगणय्य पदं विप्र ततस्तस्य फलं वदेत् ॥७॥
7. dvināthadvibhayorevaṃ vijñeyaṃ sabalāvadhi .
vigaṇayya padaṃ vipra tatastasya phalaṃ vadet.
7. dvināthadvibhayos evam vijñeyam sabalāvadhi
vigaṇayya padam vipra tataḥ tasya phalam vadet
7. O Brahmin (vipra), similarly, this principle should be understood concerning signs with two lords (dvinātha) and their two houses (dvibha), always considering their strength (sabalāvadhi). Having calculated the "pada" (the derived ascendant), one should then declare its results.
अथाऽहं पदमाश्रित्य फलं किञ्चिद् ब्रुवे द्विज ।
पदादेकादशे स्थाने ग्रहैर्युक्तोऽथवेक्षिते ॥८॥
8. athā'haṃ padamāśritya phalaṃ kiñcid bruve dvija .
padādekādaśe sthāne grahairyukto'thavekṣite.
8. atha aham padam āśritya phalam kiñcit bruve dvija
padāt ekādaśe sthāne grahaiḥ yuktaḥ athavā īkṣite
8. Now (atha), O Brahmin (dvija), relying on the "pada" (derived ascendant), I shall declare some results. If a native's eleventh house from the "pada" is conjoined by or aspected by planets...
धनवान् जायते बालस्तथा सुखसमन्वितः ।
शुभयोगात् सुमार्गेण धनाप्तिः पापतोऽन्तथा ॥९॥
9. dhanavān jāyate bālastathā sukhasamanvitaḥ .
śubhayogāt sumārgeṇa dhanāptiḥ pāpato'ntathā.
9. dhanavān jāyate bālaḥ tathā sukhasamanvitaḥ
śubhayogāt sumārgeṇa dhanāptiḥ pāpataḥ antathā
9. ...that individual (bālaḥ) becomes wealthy and endowed with happiness. Through auspicious planetary combinations (śubhayogāt), wealth is acquired by ethical means (sumārgeṇa); by malefic combinations (pāpataḥ), it is gained through unethical means.
मिश्रैर्मिश्रं फलं ज्ञेयं स्वोच्चमित्रादिगेहगैः ।
बहुधा जायते लाभो बहुधा च सुखागमः ॥१०॥
10. miśrairmiśraṃ phalaṃ jñeyaṃ svoccamitrādigehagaiḥ .
bahudhā jāyate lābho bahudhā ca sukhāgamaḥ.
10. miśraiḥ miśram phalam jñeyam svoccamitrādigehagaiḥ
bahudhā jāyate lābhaḥ bahudhā ca sukhāgamaḥ
10. If there are mixed influences (miśraiḥ), then mixed results (miśram phalam) should be understood (jñeyam). When planets occupy their own exalted (svocca), friendly (mitra), or similar houses (ādi-gehagaiḥ), there will be manifold gains (lābha) and an abundance of happiness (sukhāgama).
पदाल्लाभगृहं यस्य पश्यन्ति सकला ग्रहाः ।
राजा वा राजतुल्यो वा स जातो नात्र संशयः ॥११॥
11. padāllābhagṛhaṃ yasya paśyanti sakalā grahāḥ .
rājā vā rājatulyo vā sa jāto nātra saṃśayaḥ.
11. padāt lābhagṛham yasya paśyanti sakalāḥ grahāḥ
rājā vā rājatulyaḥ vā saḥ jātaḥ na atra saṃśayaḥ
11. The person whose house of gain (11th house) from the Pada lagna is aspected by all planets (grahas) is born either a king or equal to a king; there is no doubt about this.
पदाल्लाभगृहं पश्येद् व्ययं कश्चिन्न पश्यति ।
अविध्नेन सदा लाभो जायते द्विजसत्तम ॥१२॥
12. padāllābhagṛhaṃ paśyed vyayaṃ kaścinna paśyati .
avidhnena sadā lābho jāyate dvijasattama.
12. padāt lābhagṛham paśyet vyayam kaścit na paśyati
avighnena sadā lābhaḥ jāyate dvijasattama
12. O best among the twice-born (dvijasattama), if planets aspect the house of gain (11th house) from the Pada lagna, but no one aspects the house of expenditure (12th house), then gain always occurs without obstacles.
ग्रहदृग्योगबाहुल्ये पदादेकादशे द्विज ।
सार्गले चापि तत्रापि बह्वर्गलसमागमे ॥१३॥
13. grahadṛgyogabāhulye padādekādaśe dvija .
sārgale cāpi tatrāpi bahvargalasamāgame.
13. grahadṛgyogabāhulye padāt ekādaśe dvija
sa-argale ca api tatra api bahvargalasamāgame
13. O Brahmin (dvija), when there is an abundance of planetary aspects and yogas (grahadṛgyogabāhulye) on the eleventh house (ekādaśe) from the Pada lagna, and especially when it is obstructed (sārgale) or when there is a confluence of many obstructions (bahvargalasamāgame) -
शुभग्रहार्गले विप्र तत्राप्युच्चग्रहार्गले ।
शुभेन स्वामिना दृष्टे लग्नभाग्यादिगेन वा ॥१४॥
14. śubhagrahārgale vipra tatrāpyuccagrahārgale .
śubhena svāminā dṛṣṭe lagnabhāgyādigena vā.
14. śubhagrahārgale vipra tatra api ucca-graha-argale
śubhena svāminā dṛṣṭe lagnabhāgyādigena vā
14. O Brahmin (vipra), when there is an Argala from benefic planets (śubhagrahārgale), and especially when there is an Argala from exalted planets (uccagrahārgale); or when it is aspected (dṛṣṭe) by a benefic lord (śubhena svāminā), or by the lord of the Ascendant (lagna), the house of fortune (bhāgya, 9th house), and so on (ādigenavā) -
जातस्य भाग्यप्राबल्यं निर्दिशेदुत्तरोत्तरम् ।
उक्तयोगेषु चेत् खेटे द्वादशं नैव पश्यति ॥१५॥
15. jātasya bhāgyaprābalyaṃ nirdiśeduttarottaram .
uktayogeṣu cet kheṭe dvādaśaṃ naiva paśyati.
15. jātasya bhāgyaprābalyam nirdiśet uttarottaram
uktayogeṣu cet kheṭe dvādaśam na eva paśyati
15. In these stated (ukta) combinations (yogas), one should progressively declare the increasing strength of fortune (bhāgyaprābalyam) for the native, if a planet (kheṭa) does not aspect the twelfth house at all.
पदस्थानाद् व्यये विप्र शुभपापयुतेक्षिते ।
व्ययबाहुल्यमित्येवं विशेषोपार्जनात् सदा ॥१६॥
16. padasthānād vyaye vipra śubhapāpayutekṣite .
vyayabāhulyamityevaṃ viśeṣopārjanāt sadā.
16. padasthānāt vyaye vipra śubhapāpayutekṣite
vyayabāhulyam iti evam viśeṣopārjanāt sadā
16. O Brahmin, if the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna (Pada) is conjoined with or aspected by both auspicious and malefic planets, then there will be abundant expenditure. This expenditure will always come from special earnings.
शुभग्रहे सुमार्गेण कुमार्गात् पापखेचरे ।
मिश्रे मिश्रफलं वाच्यमेवं लाभोऽपि लाभगे ॥१७॥
17. śubhagrahe sumārgeṇa kumārgāt pāpakhecare .
miśre miśraphalaṃ vācyamevaṃ lābho'pi lābhage.
17. śubhagrahe sumārgeṇa kumārgāt pāpakhecare miśre
miśraphalam vācyam evam lābhaḥ api lābhage
17. If the planet influencing the expenditure is auspicious, the expenditure occurs through proper means. If it is a malefic planet, the expenditure comes from improper means. If there is a mixed influence of planets, a mixed result should be declared. Similarly, this principle also applies to gains in the house of profit (11th house).
पदारूढाद् व्यये शुक्रभानुस्वर्भानुभिर्युते ।
राजमूलाद् व्ययो वाच्यश्चन्द्रदृष्ट्या विशेषतः ॥१८॥
18. padārūḍhād vyaye śukrabhānusvarbhānubhiryute .
rājamūlād vyayo vācyaścandradṛṣṭyā viśeṣataḥ.
18. padārūḍhāt vyaye śukrabhānusvarbhānubhiḥ yute
rājamūlāt vyayaḥ vācyaḥ candradṛṣṭyā viśeṣataḥ
18. If the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna (Pada) is conjoined by Venus, the Sun, and Rāhu, then expenditure originating from the government should be predicted. This is particularly true if it is aspected by the Moon.
पदारूढाद् व्यये सौम्ये शुभखेटयुतेक्षिते ।
ज्ञातिमध्ये व्ययो नित्यं पापदृक् कलहाद् व्ययः ॥१९॥
19. padārūḍhād vyaye saumye śubhakheṭayutekṣite .
jñātimadhye vyayo nityaṃ pāpadṛk kalahād vyayaḥ.
19. padārūḍhāt vyaye saumye śubhakheṭayutekṣite
jñātimadhye vyayaḥ nityam pāpadṛk kalahāt vyayaḥ
19. If the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna (Pada) is influenced by Mercury and is conjoined with or aspected by auspicious planets, then expenditure (vyaya) related to relatives always occurs. If it is aspected by malefic planets, expenditure arises from quarrels.
पदाद् व्यये सुराचार्ये वीक्षिते चान्यखेचरैः ।
करमूलाद् व्ययो वाच्यः स्वस्यैव द्विजसत्तम ॥२०॥
20. padād vyaye surācārye vīkṣite cānyakhecaraiḥ .
karamūlād vyayo vācyaḥ svasyaiva dvijasattama.
20. padāt vyaye surācārye vīkṣite ca anyakhecaraiḥ
karamūlāt vyayaḥ vācyaḥ svasya eva dvijasattama
20. O best among the twice-born (dvija), if the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna (Pada) is aspected by Jupiter and also by other planets, then expenditure from one's own taxes or resources should be predicted.
आरूढाद् द्वादशे सौरे धरापुत्रेण संयुते ।
अन्यग्रहेक्षिते विप्र भ्रातृवर्गाद् धनव्ययः ॥२१॥
21. ārūḍhād dvādaśe saure dharāputreṇa saṃyute .
anyagrahekṣite vipra bhrātṛvargād dhanavyayaḥ.
21. ārūḍhāt dvādaśe saure dharāputreṇa saṃyute
anyagraha īkṣite vipra bhrātṛvargāt dhanavyayaḥ
21. O Brahmin, if Saturn is situated in the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna, conjoined with Mars and aspected by other planets, there will be an expenditure of wealth on account of siblings.
आरूढाद् द्वादशे स्थाने ये योगाः कथिता यथा ।
लाभभावे च ते योगा लाभयोगकरास्तथा ॥२२॥
22. ārūḍhād dvādaśe sthāne ye yogāḥ kathitā yathā .
lābhabhāve ca te yogā lābhayogakarāstathā.
22. ārūḍhāt dvādaśe sthāne ye yogāḥ kathitāḥ yathā
lābhabhāve ca te yogāḥ lābhayogakarāḥ tathā
22. The planetary combinations (yoga) that have been described for the twelfth house from the Arudha Lagna, when they occur in the house of gain (the eleventh house), similarly become causes of gain.
आरूढात् सप्तमे राहुरथवा संस्थितः शिखी ।
कुक्षिव्यथायुतो बालः शिखिना पीडितो`थ वा ॥२३॥
23. ārūḍhāt saptame rāhurathavā saṃsthitaḥ śikhī .
kukṣivyathāyuto bālaḥ śikhinā pīḍito`tha vā.
23. ārūḍhāt saptame rāhuḥ athavā saṃsthitaḥ śikhī
kukṣivyathā āyutaḥ bālaḥ śikhinā pīḍitaḥ atha vā
23. If Rahu or Ketu is situated in the seventh house from the Arudha, a child will be afflicted with abdominal pain, or (in the case of Ketu) tormented by Ketu.
आरूधात् सप्तमे केतुः पापखेटयुतेक्षितः ।
साहसी श्वेतकेशी च वृद्धलिङ्गी भवेन्नरः ॥२४॥
24. ārūdhāt saptame ketuḥ pāpakheṭayutekṣitaḥ .
sāhasī śvetakeśī ca vṛddhaliṅgī bhavennaraḥ.
24. ārūḍhāt saptame ketuḥ pāpakheṭa yuta īkṣitaḥ
sāhasī śvetakeśī ca vṛddhaliṅgī bhavet naraḥ
24. If Ketu is in the seventh house from the Arudha Lagna, and is conjoined with or aspected by malefic planets, the person will be courageous, have white hair, and exhibit signs of premature aging.
पदात्तु सप्तमे स्थाने गुरुशुक्रनिशाकराः ।
त्रयो द्वयमथैकोऽपि लक्ष्मीवान् जायते जनः ॥२५॥
25. padāttu saptame sthāne guruśukraniśākarāḥ .
trayo dvayamathaiko'pi lakṣmīvān jāyate janaḥ.
25. padāt tu saptame sthāne guru śukra niśākarāḥ
trayaḥ dvayam atha ekaḥ api lakṣmīvān jāyate janaḥ
25. Indeed, if Jupiter, Venus, and the Moon - all three, or two of them, or even just one - are situated in the seventh house from the Arudha Pada, the person becomes wealthy.
स्वतुङ्गे सप्तमे खेटः शुभो वाऽप्यशुभः पदात् ।
श्रीमान् सोऽपि भवेन्नुनं सत्कीर्तिसहितो द्विज ॥२६॥
26. svatuṅge saptame kheṭaḥ śubho vā'pyaśubhaḥ padāt .
śrīmān so'pi bhavennunaṃ satkīrtisahito dvija.
26. svatuṅge saptame kheṭaḥ śubhaḥ vā api aśubhaḥ padāt
śrīmān saḥ api bhavet nunam satkīrtisahitaḥ dvija
26. O Brahmin (dvija), if an astrological planet, whether benefic or malefic, is situated in its own sign of exaltation in the seventh house from the Arudha Lagna (pada), then that person will surely become prosperous and endowed with good fame.
ये योगाः सप्तमे स्थाने पदाश्च कथिता मया ।
चिन्त्यास्तथैव ते योगा द्वितीयेऽपि सदा द्विज ॥२७॥
27. ye yogāḥ saptame sthāne padāśca kathitā mayā .
cintyāstathaiva te yogā dvitīye'pi sadā dvija.
27. ye yogāḥ saptame sthāne padāt ca kathitā mayā
cintyāḥ tathā eva te yogāḥ dvitīye api sadā dvija
27. O Brahmin (dvija), the combinations (yoga) which I have described for the seventh house from the Arudha Lagna (pada), those same combinations should likewise always be considered for the second house as well.
उच्चस्थो रौहिणेयो वा जीवो वा शुक्र एव वा ।
एवो बली धनगतः श्रियं दिशति देहिनः ॥२८॥
28. uccastho rauhiṇeyo vā jīvo vā śukra eva vā .
evo balī dhanagataḥ śriyaṃ diśati dehinaḥ.
28. uccasthaḥ rohiṇeyaḥ vā jīvaḥ vā śukraḥ eva vā
eṣaḥ balī dhanagataḥ śriyam diśati dehinaḥ
28. If Mercury, Jupiter, or Venus is exalted, and that very planet is strong and situated in the house of wealth (the 2nd house), it bestows prosperity upon the embodied being.
ये योगाश्च पदे लग्ने यथावद् गदिता मया ।
ते योगाः कारकांशेऽपि विज्ञेया बांधवर्जिताः ॥२९॥
29. ye yogāśca pade lagne yathāvad gaditā mayā .
te yogāḥ kārakāṃśe'pi vijñeyā bāṃdhavarjitāḥ.
29. ye yogāḥ ca pade lagne yathāvat gaditā mayā te
yogāḥ kārakāṃśe api vijñeyāḥ bāndhavavarjitāḥ
29. Those combinations (yoga) which I have properly described for the Arudha Lagna (pada lagna), those same combinations should also be understood for the Kārakāṃśa Lagna, but without considering relatives.
आरूढाद् वित्तभे सौम्ये सर्वदेशाधिपो भवेत् ।
सर्वज्ञो यदि वा स स्यात् कविर्वादी च भार्गवे ॥३०॥
30. ārūḍhād vittabhe saumye sarvadeśādhipo bhavet .
sarvajño yadi vā sa syāt kavirvādī ca bhārgave.
30. ārūḍhāt vittabhe saumye sarvadeśādhipaḥ bhavet
sarvajñaḥ yadi vā saḥ syāt kaviḥ vādī ca bhārgave
30. If a benefic planet is in the house of wealth (the 2nd house) from the Arudha Lagna (ārūḍha), the person becomes the ruler of all regions. If it is Venus, he becomes omniscient and a poet-debater.
आरूधात् केन्द्रकोणेषु स्थिते दारपदे द्विज ।
लग्नजायापदे वापि सबलग्रहसंयुते ॥३१॥
31. ārūdhāt kendrakoṇeṣu sthite dārapade dvija .
lagnajāyāpade vāpi sabalagrahasaṃyute.
31. ārūdhāt kendrakoṇeṣu sthite dārapade dvija
lagna-jāyā-pade vā api sabala-graha-saṃyute
31. O twice-born (dvija), if the Dāra pada (the ārūḍha of the seventh house, A7) is situated in the quadrants (kendras) or trines (koṇas) from the Ārūḍha (lagna) (A1), or if it (Dāra pada) is in the Lagna (ascendant) or the seventh house, conjoined with a strong planet...
स्र्/ईमांश्च जायते नूनं देशे विख्यातिमान् भवेत् ।
षष्ठेष्टमे व्ययस्थाने जातो दारपदेऽधनः ॥३२॥
32. sr/īmāṃśca jāyate nūnaṃ deśe vikhyātimān bhavet .
ṣaṣṭheṣṭame vyayasthāne jāto dārapade'dhanaḥ.
32. śrīmān ca jāyate nūnaṃ deśe vikhyātimān bhavet
| ṣaṣṭeṣṭame vyayasthāne jātaḥ dārapade adhanaḥ
32. Certainly, such a person becomes prosperous and famous in their country. However, if the Dāra pada (A7) is situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house, the person born (under such a configuration) becomes poor.
पदे तत्सप्तमे वापि केन्द्रे वृद्धौ त्रिकोणके ।
सुवीर्यः संस्थितः खेतः भार्याभर्तृसुखप्रदः ॥३३॥
33. pade tatsaptame vāpi kendre vṛddhau trikoṇake .
suvīryaḥ saṃsthitaḥ khetaḥ bhāryābhartṛsukhapradaḥ.
33. pade tat-saptame vā api kendre vṛddhau trikoṇake |
suvīryaḥ saṃsthitaḥ khetaḥ bhāryā-bhartṛ-sukha-pradaḥ
33. If a very strong planet (kheta) is situated in the Dāra pada (A7), or in its seventh house, or in a quadrant (kendra), or in a position of strength (like exaltation or Upacaya house), or in a trine (koṇa), then it bestows happiness upon both the wife and the husband.
पदाद्दारपदे चैवं केन्द्रे कोणे च संस्थिते ।
द्वयोर्मैत्री भवेन्नूनं त्रिके वैरं न संशयः ॥३४॥
34. padāddārapade caivaṃ kendre koṇe ca saṃsthite .
dvayormaitrī bhavennūnaṃ trike vairaṃ na saṃśayaḥ.
34. padāt dārapade ca evaṃ kendre koṇe ca saṃsthite |
dvayoḥ maitrī bhavet nūnaṃ trike vairaṃ na saṃśayaḥ
34. Thus, if the Dāra pada (A7) is situated in a quadrant (kendra) or a trine (koṇa) from the Ārūḍha (lagna) (A1), there will certainly be friendship between the native and their spouse. Conversely, if they (A1 and A7) are in trika (malefic) houses (6th, 8th, or 12th) from each other, there is no doubt of enmity.
एवं लग्नपदाद् विप्र तनयादिपदे स्थिते ।
मित्रामित्रे विजानीयाल्लाभालाभौ विचक्षणः ॥३५॥
35. evaṃ lagnapadād vipra tanayādipade sthite .
mitrāmitre vijānīyāllābhālābhau vicakṣaṇaḥ.

mitra-amitre vijānīyāt lābha-alābhau vicakṣaṇaḥ
35. O Brahmin (vipra), similarly, a discerning person (vicakṣaṇa) should understand that if other padas, such as the Tanaya pada (A5) and so on, are situated in quadrants (kendras) or trines (koṇas) from the Lagna pada (A1), there will be friendship and gain; conversely, if they are in trika (malefic) houses (6th, 8th, or 12th) from the Lagna pada (A1), there will be enmity and loss.
लग्नदारपदे विप्र मिथः केन्द्रगते यदि ।
त्रिलाभयोस्त्रिकोणे वा तथा राजा धराधिपः ॥३६॥
36. lagnadārapade vipra mithaḥ kendragate yadi .
trilābhayostrikoṇe vā tathā rājā dharādhipaḥ.
36. lagna-dāra-pade vipra mithaḥ kendra-gate yadi
tri-lābhayos trikoṇe vā tathā rājā dharādhipaḥ
36. O Brahmin, if the Lagna-pada and the Dāra-pada are mutually situated in angular houses (kendras), or in the 3rd or 11th houses (tri-lābhas), or in trine houses (trikoṇas), then the native becomes a king, a ruler of the earth.
एवं लग्नपदादेव धनादिपदतो द्विज ।
स्थानद्वयं समालोक्य जातकस्य फलं वदेत् ॥३७॥
37. evaṃ lagnapadādeva dhanādipadato dvija .
sthānadvayaṃ samālokya jātakasya phalaṃ vadet.
37. evam lagna-padāt eva dhana-ādi-padatas dvija
sthāna-dvayam samālokya jātakasya phalam vadet
37. Similarly, O Brahmin, by carefully observing these two positions – the Lagna-pada itself and the Dhana-pada (relating to wealth) and other such padas – one should predict the results for the native.
