अथ स्वान्तर्गते शुक्रे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
लाभे वा बलसंयुक्ते तद्भुक्तौ च शुभं फलम् ॥१॥
1. atha svāntargate śukre lagnātkendratrikoṇage .

1. Now, when Venus (śukra) is in its own sub-period (antardaśā), and if it is situated in a quadrant (kendra) or trine (trikoṇa) house, or in the eleventh house (lābha) from the ascendant (lagna), and is endowed with strength, then in that sub-period, there will be auspicious results.
विप्रमूलाद्धनप्राप्तिर्गोमहिष्यादिलाभकृत् ।
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥२॥
2. vipramūlāddhanaprāptirgomahiṣyādilābhakṛt .
putrotsavādisantoṣo gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavaḥ.
2. vipramūlāt dhanaprāptiḥ gomahiṣyādi lābhakṛt
putrotsavādi santoṣaḥ gṛhe kalyāṇasambhavaḥ
2. There will be acquisition of wealth from Brahminical sources, and gains from cows, buffaloes, etc. There will be contentment due to celebrations for sons and other auspicious events occurring in the home.
सन्मानं राजसम्मानं राज्यलाभो महत्सुखम् ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि तुङ्गांशे वांशगेऽपि वा ॥३॥
3. sanmānaṃ rājasammānaṃ rājyalābho mahatsukham .
svocce vā svarkṣage vāpi tuṅgāṃśe vāṃśage'pi vā.
3. sanmānam rājasammānam rājyalābhaḥ mahat sukham
svocce vā svarkṣage vā api tuṅgāṃśe vā aṃśage api vā
3. There will be good honor, royal recognition, attainment of a kingdom, and great happiness. This occurs when (a planet is placed) either in its own sign of exaltation, or in its own (ruling) sign, or in an exalted navāṃśa, or even in a navāṃśa ruled by its own sign.
नूतनालयनिर्माणं नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
कलत्रपुत्रविभवं मित्रसंयुक्तभोजनम् ॥४॥
4. nūtanālayanirmāṇaṃ nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam .
kalatraputravibhavaṃ mitrasaṃyuktabhojanam.

kalatraputravibhavam mitrasaṃyuktabhojanam
4. There will be the construction of new residences, daily consumption of sweet foods, prosperity of one's wife and sons, and dining together with friends.
अन्नदानं प्रियं नित्यं दनधर्मादिसङ्ग्रहः ।
महाराजप्रसादेन वाहनाम्बरभूषणम् ॥५॥
5. annadānaṃ priyaṃ nityaṃ danadharmādisaṅgrahaḥ .
mahārājaprasādena vāhanāmbarabhūṣaṇam.
5. annadānam priyam nityam dānadharmādisaṅgrahaḥ
mahārājaprasādena vāhanāmbarabhūṣaṇam
5. The constant and cherished giving of food, accumulation of charity (dāna) and religious duties (dharma), etc., and the acquisition of conveyances, garments, and ornaments through the favor of a great king.
व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
प्रयाणं पश्चिमे भागे वाहनाम्बरलाभकृत् ॥६॥
6. vyavasāyātphalādhikyaṃ catuṣpājjīvalābhakṛt .
prayāṇaṃ paścime bhāge vāhanāmbaralābhakṛt.
6. vyavasāyāt phalādhikyam catuṣpajjīvalābhakṛt
prayāṇam paścime bhāge vāhanāmbaralābhakṛt
6. There will be an abundance of results from business ventures, and gains from four-footed creatures. There will be travel in the western direction, leading to the acquisition of conveyances and garments.
लग्नाद्युपचये शुक्रे शुभग्रहयुतेक्षिते ।
मित्रांशे तुङ्गलाभेशयोगलारकसंयुते ॥७॥
7. lagnādyupacaye śukre śubhagrahayutekṣite .
mitrāṃśe tuṅgalābheśayogalārakasaṃyute.
7. lagnādi upacaye śukre śubha-graha-yuta-īkṣite
mitra-aṃśe tuṅga-lābha-īśa-yoga-kāraka-saṃyute
7. When Venus (śukra) is situated in an Upacaya house (3rd, 6th, 10th, or 11th) counted from the ascendant (lagna), conjoined with or aspected by benefic planets, residing in a friendly navāṃśa (a specific divisional chart), and associated with (or conjoined with) a planet in exaltation, the lord of the 11th house (gains), and a yoga-forming planet, then the following auspicious results occur.
राज्यलाभो महोत्साहो राजप्रीतिः शुभावहा ।
गृहे कल्याणसम्पत्तिर्दारपुत्रादिवर्द्धनम् ॥८॥
8. rājyalābho mahotsāho rājaprītiḥ śubhāvahā .
gṛhe kalyāṇasampattirdāraputrādivarddhanam.
8. rājya-lābhaḥ mahā-utsāhaḥ rāja-prītiḥ śubha-āvahā
gṛhe kalyāṇa-sampattiḥ dāra-putra-ādi-varddhanam
8. Such a placement brings gain of high status, great enthusiasm, royal favor (rāja-prīti) that promotes welfare, auspicious wealth and prosperity in the home, and the growth and well-being of one's wife, children, and so forth.
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये शुक्रे पापयुक्तेऽथ वीक्षिते ।
चौरादिव्रणभीतिश्च सर्वत्र जनपीडनम् ॥९॥
9. ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyaye śukre pāpayukte'tha vīkṣite .
caurādivraṇabhītiśca sarvatra janapīḍanam.
9. ṣaṣṭha-aṣṭama-vyaye śukre pāpa-yukte atha vīkṣite
caura-ādi-vraṇa-bhītiḥ ca sarvatra jana-pīḍanam
9. However, if Venus (śukra) is located in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house, and is conjoined with or aspected by malefic planets, then there will be fear of thieves and wounds, and harassment from people everywhere.
राजद्वारे जनद्वेष इष्टबन्धुविनाशनम् ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा च सर्वत्र जनपीडनम् ॥१०॥
10. rājadvāre janadveṣa iṣṭabandhuvināśanam .
dāraputrādipīḍā ca sarvatra janapīḍanam.
10. rāja-dvāre jana-dveṣaḥ iṣṭa-bandhu-vināśanam
dāra-putra-ādi-pīḍā ca sarvatra jana-pīḍanam
10. This leads to public animosity, especially at governmental levels, loss of beloved relatives, distress to one's wife and children, and general harassment and suffering from others everywhere.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु स्थिते चेन्मरणं भवेत् ।
तर्त दुर्गाजपं कुर्याद्धनुदानं च कारयेत् ॥११॥
11. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu sthite cenmaraṇaṃ bhavet .
tarta durgājapaṃ kuryāddhanudānaṃ ca kārayet.
11. dvitīya-dyūna-nāthe tu sthite cet maraṇaṃ bhavet
tatra durgā-japam kuryāt dhanuḥ-dānam ca kārayet
11. If the planet that rules both the 2nd and 7th houses (the "maraka" houses) is situated (adversely), then death (maraṇa) may occur. In such a situation, one should perform the recitation (japa) of Goddess Durga's mantra and arrange for the donation (dāna) of a bow.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते सूर्ये सन्तापो राजविग्रहः ।
दायादकलहश्चैव स्वोच्चनीचविवर्जिते ॥१२॥
12. śukrasyāntargate sūrye santāpo rājavigrahaḥ .
dāyādakalahaścaiva svoccanīcavivarjite.

dāyādakalahaḥ ca eva svoccanīcavivarjite
12. When the Sun is in the sub-period of Venus, and the Sun is neither exalted nor debilitated, there is anguish, conflict with the government, and disputes among heirs.

तद्भुक्तौ धनलाभः स्याद्राज्यस्त्रीधनसम्पदः ।
स्वप्रभोश्च महत्सौख्यमिष्टबन्धोः समागमः ॥१४॥
14. tadbhuktau dhanalābhaḥ syādrājyastrīdhanasampadaḥ .
svaprabhośca mahatsaukhyamiṣṭabandhoḥ samāgamaḥ.
14. tat bhuktau dhanalābhaḥ syāt rājyastrīdhanasampadaḥ
svaprabhoḥ ca mahat saukhyam iṣṭabandhoḥ samāgamaḥ
14. In that sub-period (of the Sun), there will be gains of wealth, riches from the government, wealth from women, and general prosperity. There will also be great happiness for one's own master and a reunion with beloved relatives.
पितृमात्रोः सुखप्राप्तिं भ्रातृलाभं सुखावहम् ।
सत्कीर्तिं सुखसौभाग्यं पुत्रलाभं च विन्दति ॥१५॥
15. pitṛmātroḥ sukhaprāptiṃ bhrātṛlābhaṃ sukhāvaham .
satkīrtiṃ sukhasaubhāgyaṃ putralābhaṃ ca vindati.
15. pitṛmātroḥ sukhaprāptim bhrātṛlābham sukhāvaham
satkīrtim sukhasaubhāgyam putralābham ca vindati
15. One obtains happiness for parents, the acquisition of siblings which brings joy, good fame, happiness, good fortune, and the gain of children.
तथाष्टमे व्यये सूर्ये रिपुराशिस्थितेऽपि वा ।
नीचे वा पापवर्गस्थे देहतापो मनोरुजः ॥१६॥
16. tathāṣṭame vyaye sūrye ripurāśisthite'pi vā .
nīce vā pāpavargasthe dehatāpo manorujaḥ.
16. tathā aṣṭame vyaye sūrye ripurāśisthite api vā
nīce vā pāpavargasthite dehatāpaḥ manorujaḥ
16. Similarly, when the Sun is in the eighth or twelfth house, or is situated in an enemy sign, or is debilitated, or is in a malefic divisional position (varga), there will be physical ailments and mental distress.
स्वजनोपरिसंक्लेशो नित्यं निष्ठुरभाषणम् ।
पितृपीडा बन्धुहानी राजद्वारे विरोधकृत् ॥१७॥
17. svajanoparisaṃkleśo nityaṃ niṣṭhurabhāṣaṇam .
pitṛpīḍā bandhuhānī rājadvāre virodhakṛt.
17. svajanopari-saṃkleśaḥ nityam niṣṭhurabhāṣaṇam
pitṛpīḍā bandhuhānī rājadvāre virodhakṛt
17. There is constant distress concerning one's own people, harsh speech, suffering for the father (or ancestors), loss of relatives, and causing opposition at the royal court (or government).
व्रणपीडाहिबाधा च स्वगृहे च भयं तथा ।
नानारोगभयं चैव गृहक्षेत्रादिनाशनम् ॥१८॥
18. vraṇapīḍāhibādhā ca svagṛhe ca bhayaṃ tathā .
nānārogabhayaṃ caiva gṛhakṣetrādināśanam.
18. vraṇa-pīḍā ahi-bādhā ca svagṛhe ca bhayam tathā
nānā-roga-bhayam ca eva gṛha-kṣetrādi-nāśanam
18. There will be injury, trouble from snakes, and also fear in one's own house. Similarly, there will be fear of various diseases and destruction of one's home, fields, and other properties.
सप्तमाधिपतौ सूर्ये ग्रहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं सूर्यप्रीतिं च कारयेत् ॥१९॥
19. saptamādhipatau sūrye grahabādhā bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ sūryaprītiṃ ca kārayet.
19. saptamādhipatau sūrye grahabādhā bhaviṣyati
tat doṣa-parihārārtham sūrya-prītim ca kārayet
19. When the lord of the seventh house is the Sun, there will be planetary affliction. For the removal of that defect, one should perform appeasement of the Sun.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते चन्द्रे केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे चैव भाग्यनाथेनसंयुते ॥२०॥
20. śukrasyāntargate candre kendralābhatrikoṇage .
svocce svakṣetrage caiva bhāgyanāthenasaṃyute.
20. śukrasya antargate candre kendra-lābha-trikoṇage
sva-ucce sva-kṣetrage ca eva bhāgya-nāthena saṃyute
20. When the Moon is in the sub-period of Venus, and the Moon is situated in an angular house (kendra), an eleventh house (lābha), or a trine house (trikoṇa), and is in its own exaltation sign or its own house, and is also associated with the lord of fortune (the ninth house lord)...
शुभयुक्ते पूर्णचन्द्रे राज्यनाथेन संयुते ।
तद्बुक्तौ वाहनादीनां लाभं गेहे महत्सुखम् ॥२१॥
21. śubhayukte pūrṇacandre rājyanāthena saṃyute .
tadbuktau vāhanādīnāṃ lābhaṃ gehe mahatsukham.
21. śubha-yukte pūrṇa-candre rājya-nāthena saṃyute
tat bhuktau vāhanādīnām lābham gehe mahat sukham
21. When the full Moon is associated with auspicious planets and conjoined with the lord of the tenth house (rājya), then in that (Moon's) sub-period, there will be gain of vehicles and other possessions, and great happiness at home.
महाराजप्रसादेन गजान्तैश्वर्यमादिशेत् ।
महानदीस्नानपुण्यं देवब्राह्मणपूजनम् ॥२२॥
22. mahārājaprasādena gajāntaiśvaryamādiśet .
mahānadīsnānapuṇyaṃ devabrāhmaṇapūjanam.
22. mahārājaprasādena gajāntaiśvaryam ādiśet
mahānadīsnānapuṇyam devabrāhmaṇapūjanam
22. One should predict prosperity, even to the extent of possessing elephants, granted by the grace of a great king. Other outcomes to be predicted are the merit (puṇya) from bathing in great rivers and the worship of deities and brahmins.
गीतवाद्यप्रसङ्गादिविद्वज्जनविभूषणम् ।
गोमहिष्यादिवृद्धिश्च व्यवसायेऽधिकं फलम् ॥२३॥
23. gītavādyaprasaṅgādividvajjanavibhūṣaṇam .
gomahiṣyādivṛddhiśca vyavasāye'dhikaṃ phalam.
23. gītavādyaprasaṅgādi vidvajjana vibhūṣaṇam
gomahiṣyādi vṛddhiḥ ca vyavasāye adhikam phalam
23. There will be ornamentation for learned people (vidvajjana) through engagement with singing, musical instruments, and similar arts. Also, there will be an increase in cows, buffaloes, and other livestock, and significant profit in business.
भोजनाम्बरसौख्यं च बन्धुसंयुक्तभोजनम् ।
नीचे वात्सङ्गते वापि षष्ठाष्टमव्ययराशिगे ॥२४॥
24. bhojanāmbarasaukhyaṃ ca bandhusaṃyuktabhojanam .
nīce vātsaṅgate vāpi ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige.
24. bhojanāmbarasaukhyam ca bandhusaṃyuktabhojanam
nīce vā saṅgate vā api ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige
24. One will experience pleasure from food and clothing, and shared meals with relatives. Alternatively, there might be association with lowly individuals, or the planet (governing the period) may be situated in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house (from the Ascendant or the period lord).
दायेशात्षष्ठगे वापि रन्ध्रे वा व्ययराशिगे ।
तत्काले धननाशः स्यात्सञ्चरेत महद्भयम् ॥२५॥
25. dāyeśātṣaṣṭhage vāpi randhre vā vyayarāśige .
tatkāle dhananāśaḥ syātsañcareta mahadbhayam.
25. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭhage vā api randhre vā vyayarāśige
tatkāle dhananāśaḥ syāt saṃcareta mahat bhayam
25. If (the lord of the sub-period) is in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house from the lord of the main period (dāyeśa), then at that time there will be loss of wealth and great fear will arise.
देहायासो मनस्तापो राजद्वारे विरोधकृत् ।
विदेशगमनं चैव तीर्थयात्रादिकं फलम् ॥२६॥
26. dehāyāso manastāpo rājadvāre virodhakṛt .
videśagamanaṃ caiva tīrthayātrādikaṃ phalam.
26. dehāyāsaḥ manastāpaḥ rājadvāre virodhakṛt
videśagamanaṃ ca eva tīrthayātrādikam phalam
26. There will be physical exertion, mental distress, and conflict at the royal court. Additionally, there will be foreign travel, and outcomes such as pilgrimages.
दारपुत्रादि पीडा च निजबन्धुवियोगकृत् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रलाभस्थे त्रिकोणे सहजेऽपि वा ॥२७॥
27. dāraputrādi pīḍā ca nijabandhuviyogakṛt .
dāyeśātkendralābhasthe trikoṇe sahaje'pi vā.
27. dāraputrādi pīḍā ca nijabandhuviyogakṛt
dāyeśāt kendralābhaste trikoṇe sahaje api vā
27. Trouble arises from spouse and children, and there is separation from one's own relatives, when the (sub-period lord) is situated in a kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th), labha (11th), trine (5th, 9th), or also the 3rd house from the lord of the 2nd house.
राजप्रीतिकरी चैव देशग्रामाधिपत्यता ।
धैर्यं यशः सुखं कीर्तिर्वाहनाम्बरभूषणम् ॥२८॥
28. rājaprītikarī caiva deśagrāmādhipatyatā .
dhairyaṃ yaśaḥ sukhaṃ kīrtirvāhanāmbarabhūṣaṇam.
28. rājaprītikarī ca eva deśagrāmādhipatyatā
dhairyam yaśaḥ sukham kīrtiḥ vāhanāmbarabhūṣaṇam
28. Indeed, it causes royal favor and lordship over a country or village. There is courage, fame, happiness, renown, and acquisition of conveyances, clothes, and ornaments.
कूपारामतडागदिनिर्माणं धनसङ्ग्रहः ।
भुक्तयादौ देहसौख्यं स्यादन्ते क्लेशस्तथा भवेत् ॥२९॥
29. kūpārāmataḍāgadinirmāṇaṃ dhanasaṅgrahaḥ .
bhuktayādau dehasaukhyaṃ syādante kleśastathā bhavet.
29. kūpārāmatadāgādi nirmāṇam dhanasaṅgrahaḥ bhuktyā
ādau dehasaukhyam syāt ante kleśaḥ tathā bhavet
29. There will be construction of wells, gardens, ponds, and so on, and accumulation of wealth. At the beginning of the sub-period, there will be physical comfort, but at the end, distress will likewise occur.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते भौमे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे भौमे लाभे वा बलसंयुते ॥३०॥
30. śukrasyāntargate bhaume lagnātkendratrikoṇage .
svocce vā svarkṣage bhaume lābhe vā balasaṃyute.
30. śukrasya antargate bhaume lagnāt kendratrikoṇage
svocce vā svarkṣage bhaume lābhe vā balasaṃyute
30. When Mars (bhauma) is in the sub-period (antar-daśā) within Venus's (śukra) major period, and is situated in a kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) or trine (5th, 9th) from the Ascendant (lagna), or if Mars is in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign, or in the 11th house, or endowed with strength.
लग्नाधिपेन संयुक्ते कर्मभाग्येशसंयुते ।
तद्भुक्तौ राजयोगादिसम्पदं शोभनां वदेत् ॥३१॥
31. lagnādhipena saṃyukte karmabhāgyeśasaṃyute .
tadbhuktau rājayogādisampadaṃ śobhanāṃ vadet.
31. lagnādhipena saṃyukte karmabhāgyeśasaṃyute
tat bhuktau rājayogādi sampadam śobhanām vadet
31. If (Mars is) conjoined with the Ascendant lord, or conjoined with the lord of the 10th house (karma) and 9th house (bhāgya), then in that sub-period (bhukti), one should declare auspicious wealth and effects resembling a royal combination (rāja-yoga).
वस्त्राभरणभूम्यादेरिष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ।
तथाऽष्टमे व्यये वाऽपि दायेशाद्वा तथैव च ॥३२॥
32. vastrābharaṇabhūmyāderiṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā .
tathā'ṣṭame vyaye vā'pi dāyeśādvā tathaiva ca.
32. vastrābharaṇabhūmyādeḥ iṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā
tathā aṣṭame vyaye vā api dāyeśāt vā tathā eva ca
32. There will be the successful acquisition of desired items such as clothes, ornaments, and land, bringing happiness. Similarly, (negative outcomes will occur) if (the planet is) in the 8th or 12th house, or if it is from the Dasha lord, in the same manner (as previously mentioned).
शीतज्वरादिपीडा च पितृमातृभयावहा ।
ज्वराद्यधिकरोगाश्च स्थानभ्रंशो मनोरुजा ॥३३॥
33. śītajvarādipīḍā ca pitṛmātṛbhayāvahā .
jvarādyadhikarogāśca sthānabhraṃśo manorujā.
33. śītajvarādipīḍā ca pitṛmātṛbhayāvahā jvarādi
adhikarogāḥ ca sthānabhraṃśaḥ manorujā
33. There will be suffering from cold fevers and similar ailments, causing apprehension for one's parents. Additionally, one may experience an increase in diseases, loss of status, and mental distress.
स्वबन्धुजनहानिश्च कलहो राजविग्रहः ।
राजद्वारजनद्वेषो धनधान्यव्ययोऽधिकः ॥३४॥
34. svabandhujanahāniśca kalaho rājavigrahaḥ .
rājadvārajanadveṣo dhanadhānyavyayo'dhikaḥ.
34. svabandhujanahāniḥ ca kalahaḥ rājavigrahaḥ
rājadvārajanadveṣaḥ dhanadhānyavyayaḥ adhikaḥ
34. There will be loss of one's own relatives, disputes, and conflicts with the government. Also, enmity from officials at the royal court, and excessive expenditure of wealth and grains.
व्यवसायात्फलं नेष्टं ग्रामभूम्यादिहानिकृत् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहवाधा भविष्यति ॥३५॥
35. vyavasāyātphalaṃ neṣṭaṃ grāmabhūmyādihānikṛt .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehavādhā bhaviṣyati.
35. vyavasāyāt phalam na iṣṭam grāmabhūmyādihānikṛt
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehavādhā bhaviṣyati
35. The outcome from business will be unfavorable, leading to the loss of villages, land, and similar assets. Moreover, if the lord of the second house and the lord of the seventh house are in such a state, there will be physical ailments.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते राहौ केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा शुभसंदृष्टे योगकारकसंयुते ॥३६॥
36. śukrasyāntargate rāhau kendralābhatrikoṇage .
svocce vā śubhasaṃdṛṣṭe yogakārakasaṃyute.

36. When Rāhu is in the sub-period (antardaśā) of Śukra (Venus), and Rāhu is situated in an angular (kendra), eleventh (lābha), or trinal (trikoṇa) house; or if it is in its exaltation sign (svocce); or if it is aspected by auspicious planets; or if it is conjoined with a planet causing beneficial alignments (yoga-kāraka).
तद्भुक्तौ बहुसौख्यं च धनधान्यादिलाभकृत् ।
इष्टबन्धुसमाकीर्णं भवनं च समादिशेत् ॥३७॥
37. tadbhuktau bahusaukhyaṃ ca dhanadhānyādilābhakṛt .

37. During that sub-period (antardaśā), there will be much happiness, leading to the acquisition of wealth, grains, and similar benefits. One should also predict a dwelling filled with beloved relatives and friends.
यातुः कार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्यात् पशुक्षेत्रादिसम्भवः ।
लग्नाद्युपचये राहौ तद्भुक्तिः सुखदा भवेत् ॥३८॥
38. yātuḥ kāryārthasiddhiḥ syāt paśukṣetrādisambhavaḥ .

38. For the native, there will be success in endeavors and the acquisition of cattle, land, and similar possessions. If Rahu is positioned in an upacaya house from the ascendant, its sub-period will bring happiness.
शत्रुनाशो महोत्साहो राजप्रीतिकरी शुभा ।
भुक्त्यादौ शरमासांश्च अन्ते ज्वरमजीर्णकृत् ॥३९॥
39. śatrunāśo mahotsāho rājaprītikarī śubhā .
bhuktyādau śaramāsāṃśca ante jvaramajīrṇakṛt.

39. This period is auspicious, bringing the destruction of enemies, great enthusiasm, and royal favor. In its initial five months and at its conclusion, however, it causes fever and indigestion.
कार्यविघ्नमवाप्नोति सञ्चरे च मनोव्यथा ।
परं सुखं च सौभाग्यं महाराज इवाऽश्नुते ॥४०॥
40. kāryavighnamavāpnoti sañcare ca manovyathā .
paraṃ sukhaṃ ca saubhāgyaṃ mahārāja ivā'śnute.

param sukham ca saubhāgyam mahārāja iva aśnute
40. Obstruction of endeavors and mental distress occur during transit. However, one also experiences supreme happiness and good fortune, just like a great king.
नैरृतीं दिशमाश्रित्य प्रयाणं प्रभुदर्शनम् ।
यातुः कार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्यात्स्वदेशे पुनरेष्यति ॥४१॥
41. nairṛtīṃ diśamāśritya prayāṇaṃ prabhudarśanam .
yātuḥ kāryārthasiddhiḥ syātsvadeśe punareṣyati.

41. By undertaking a journey towards the southwest direction and meeting a lord, the native will achieve success in their undertakings and will return to their own country.
उपकारो ब्राह्मणानां तीर्थयात्राफलं भवेत् ।
दायेशाद्रन्ध्रभावस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥४२॥
42. upakāro brāhmaṇānāṃ tīrthayātrāphalaṃ bhavet .

42. Beneficence to Brahmins and the merit of pilgrimage may be experienced when the lord of the planetary period is situated in the 8th house, or in the 12th house, or is associated with malefic planets.
अशुभं लभते कर्म पितृमातृजनावधि ।
सर्वत्र जनविद्वेषं नानारूपं द्विजोत्तम ॥४३॥
43. aśubhaṃ labhate karma pitṛmātṛjanāvadhi .
sarvatra janavidveṣaṃ nānārūpaṃ dvijottama.

43. O best among the twice-born, one experiences various kinds of inauspicious consequences (karma), extending even to one's parents and relatives, and widespread hostility from people everywhere.
द्वितीये सप्तमे वापि देहालस्य विनिर्दिशेत् ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ॥४४॥
44. dvitīye saptame vāpi dehālasya vinirdiśet .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ mṛtyuñjayajapaṃ caret.
44. dvitīye saptame vā api deha ālasya vinirdiśet
tat doṣa parihāra artham mṛtyuñjaya japam caret
44. One should predict physical lethargy (dehālasya) in the second or seventh (house). For the removal of that affliction, one should perform the repetition (japa) of the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते जीवे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ।
दायेशाच्छुभराशिस्थे भाग्ये वा पुत्रराशिगे ॥४५॥
45. śukrasyāntargate jīve svocce svakṣetrakendrage .
dāyeśācchubharāśisthe bhāgye vā putrarāśige.

45. When Jupiter (jīva) is in the sub-period of Venus (śukra), and Jupiter is in its exaltation sign, or in its own sign, or in an angular house, or in an auspicious sign from the lord of the daśā, or in the house of fortune (bhāgya), or in the house of children (putrarāśi)... (the benefits are described in the next verse).
नष्टराज्याद्धनप्राप्तिमिष्टार्थाम्बरसम्पदम् ।
मित्रप्रभोश्च सन्मानं धनधान्यं लभेन्नरः ॥४६॥
46. naṣṭarājyāddhanaprāptimiṣṭārthāmbarasampadam .
mitraprabhośca sanmānaṃ dhanadhānyaṃ labhennaraḥ.
46. naṣṭa rājyāt dhana prāptim iṣṭa artha ambara sampadam
mitra prabhoḥ ca sanmānam dhana dhānyam labheta naraḥ
46. Such a person would obtain wealth even from a lost kingdom or position, prosperity in desired objects and garments, respect from friends and rulers, as well as abundant wealth and grain.
राजसम्मानकीर्तिं च अश्वान्दोलादिलाभकृत् ।
विद्वत्प्रभुसमाकीर्णं शास्त्रापरिश्रमम् ॥४७॥
47. rājasammānakīrtiṃ ca aśvāndolādilābhakṛt .
vidvatprabhusamākīrṇaṃ śāstrāpariśramam.
47. rāja sammāna kīrtim ca aśvān dolā ādi lābha kṛt
vidvat prabhu sama ākīrṇam śāstra apariśramam
47. (Such a person also) gains royal honor and fame, horses, palanquins, and other such benefits. He becomes one surrounded by learned individuals and rulers, and acquires scriptural knowledge (śāstra) without arduous effort.
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषमिष्टबन्धुसमागमम् ।
पितृमातृसुखप्राप्तिं पुत्रादिसौख्यमादिशेत् ॥४८॥
48. putrotsavādisantoṣamiṣṭabandhusamāgamam .
pitṛmātṛsukhaprāptiṃ putrādisaukhyamādiśet.
48. putra-utsava-ādi-santoṣam iṣṭa-bandhu-samāgamam
pitṛ-mātṛ-sukha-prāptim putra-ādi-saukhyam ādiśet
48. One should predict happiness from the birth of sons and similar joyous events, the gathering of beloved relatives, the attainment of comfort from parents, and prosperity from children and so forth.
दायेशात्षष्ठराशिस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ।
राजचौरादिपीडा च देहपीडा भविष्यति ॥४९॥
49. dāyeśātṣaṣṭharāśisthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute .
rājacaurādipīḍā ca dehapīḍā bhaviṣyati.
49. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭha-rāśi-sthe vyaye vā pāpa-saṃyute
rāja-caura-ādi-pīḍā ca deha-pīḍā bhaviṣyati
49. If the lord of the planetary sub-period (daśā) is situated in the sixth house, or in the twelfth house, or is conjoined with a malefic planet, then there will be suffering from rulers or government, thieves, and so forth, as well as physical ailments.
आत्मरुग्बन्धुकष्टं स्यात्कलहेन मनोव्यथा ।
स्थानच्युतिं प्रवासं च नानारोगं समाप्नुयात् ॥५०॥
50. ātmarugbandhukaṣṭaṃ syātkalahena manovyathā .
sthānacyutiṃ pravāsaṃ ca nānārogaṃ samāpnuyāt.
50. ātma-ruk bandhu-kaṣṭam syāt kalahena manaḥ-vyathā
sthāna-cyutim pravāsam ca nānā-rogam samāpnuyāt
50. There may be personal illness (ātman), distress for relatives, and mental anguish caused by disputes. One may also incur loss of position, separation from home, and various illnesses.
द्वितीयसप्तमाधीशे देहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं महामृत्युञ्जयं चरेत् ॥५१॥
51. dvitīyasaptamādhīśe dehabādhā bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ mahāmṛtyuñjayaṃ caret.
51. dvitīya-saptama-adhīśe deha-bādhā bhaviṣyati
tad-doṣa-parihāra-artham mahā-mṛtyuñjayam caret
51. When the lord of the second and seventh houses is unfavorably placed, physical ailments will occur. For the purpose of alleviating that affliction, one should perform the Mahamrityunjaya (mantra or ritual).
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते मन्दे स्वोच्चे तु परमोच्चगे ।
स्वर्क्षकेन्द्रत्रिकोणस्थे तुङ्गांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥५२॥
52. śukrasyāntargate mande svocce tu paramoccage .

When Saturn (manda) is in the sub-period (antargata) of Venus (śukra), and Saturn is in its own exalted sign, or in its highest exaltation, or located in its own sign, an angular house (kendra), or a trinal house (trikoṇa), or in an exalted divisional portion (tuṅgāṃśa), or in its own divisional portion (svāṃśaga) -
तद्भुक्तौ बहुसौख्यं स्यादिष्टबन्धुसमागमः ।
राजद्वारे च सम्मानं पुत्रिकाजन्मसम्भवः ॥५३॥
53. tadbhuktau bahusaukhyaṃ syādiṣṭabandhusamāgamaḥ .
rājadvāre ca sammānaṃ putrikājanmasambhavaḥ.

53. During that planetary sub-period (bhukti), there will be much happiness and a reunion with dear relatives. There will also be honor from the government and the birth of a daughter.
पुण्यतीर्थफलवाप्तिर्दानधर्मादिपुण्यकृत् ।
स्वप्रभोश्च पदावाप्तिः नीचस्थे क्लेशभाग्यभवेत् ॥५४॥
54. puṇyatīrthaphalavāptirdānadharmādipuṇyakṛt .
svaprabhośca padāvāptiḥ nīcasthe kleśabhāgyabhavet.

54. There will be the attainment of benefits from sacred pilgrimages and the performance of virtuous acts like charity (dāna) and righteous conduct (dharma). One will also gain a position from one's own lord. If the planet is in a debilitated sign, however, one will experience a share of troubles.
देहालस्यमवाप्नोति तथाऽयादधिकव्ययम् ।
तथाष्टमे व्यये मन्दे दायेशाद्वा तथैव च ॥५५॥
55. dehālasyamavāpnoti tathā'yādadhikavyayam .
tathāṣṭame vyaye mande dāyeśādvā tathaiva ca.
55. deha ālasyam avāpnoti tathā ayāt adhika vyayam
tathā aṣṭame vyaye mande dāyeśāt vā tathā eva ca
55. One experiences physical laziness and excessive expenses compared to income. Similarly, when the (planetary lord is) in the eighth house, or the twelfth house (vyaya), or is debilitated, or due to the lord of the eleventh house (dāyeśa), similar difficulties arise.
भुक्त्यादौ विविधा पीडा पितृमातृजनावधि ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा च परदेशादिविभ्रमः ॥५६॥
56. bhuktyādau vividhā pīḍā pitṛmātṛjanāvadhi .
dāraputrādipīḍā ca paradeśādivibhramaḥ.

56. At the beginning of the planetary sub-period (bhukti), various afflictions will arise, affecting even one's father and mother. There will also be distress for one's wife and children, and wandering or confusion in foreign lands.
व्यवसायात्फलं नष्टं गोमहिष्यादिहानिकृत् ।
द्वितीयसप्तमाधीशे देहबाधा भविष्यति ॥५७॥
57. vyavasāyātphalaṃ naṣṭaṃ gomahiṣyādihānikṛt .
dvitīyasaptamādhīśe dehabādhā bhaviṣyati.
57. vyavasāyāt phalam naṣṭam gomahiṣyādihānikṛt

57. The fruits of one's enterprise will be lost, and there will be damage to cattle, buffaloes, and other livestock. When the lord of the second and seventh houses (is so placed/afflicted, implied), physical afflictions will occur.
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं तिलहोमं च कारयेत् ।
मृत्युञ्जयजपं कुर्याच्चण्डीपाठमाथपि वा ॥५८॥
58. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ tilahomaṃ ca kārayet .
mṛtyuñjayajapaṃ kuryāccaṇḍīpāṭhamāthapi vā.
58. tat doṣaparihārārtham tilahomam ca kārayet
mṛtyuñjayajapam kuryāt caṇḍīpāṭham atha api vā
58. To remedy those defects, one should perform a *tilahoma* (offering of sesame seeds in fire) and recite the *Mṛtyuñjaya mantra*, or alternatively, recite the *Caṇḍīpāṭha*.
स्वयं वा ब्राह्मणद्वारा यथाशक्ति यथाविधि ।
ततः शान्तिमवाप्नोति शिवाशम्भुप्रसादतः ॥५९॥
59. svayaṃ vā brāhmaṇadvārā yathāśakti yathāvidhi .
tataḥ śāntimavāpnoti śivāśambhuprasādataḥ.
59. svayam vā brāhmaṇadvārā yathāśakti yathāvidhi
tataḥ śāntim avāpnoti śivaśambhuprasādataḥ
59. One should perform these either personally or through a brahmin, according to one's capacity and according to the proper rites. Thereafter, one attains peace by the grace of Shiva and Shambhu.
शुक्रस्यान्तर्गते सौम्ये केन्द्रे लाभत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि राजप्रीतिकरं शुभम् ॥६०॥
60. śukrasyāntargate saumye kendre lābhatrikoṇage .

60. When, during the sub-period of Venus, Mercury is situated in a *kendra* house (1, 4, 7, 10), or a *lābha* (11th) or *trikoṇa* (5th, 9th) house, or in its own exaltation sign, or in its own sign, then it is auspicious and brings royal favor.
सौभाग्यं पुत्रलाभश्च सन्मार्गेण धनागमः ।
पुराणधर्मश्रवणं श‍ृङ्गारिजनसंगमः ॥६१॥
61. saubhāgyaṃ putralābhaśca sanmārgeṇa dhanāgamaḥ .

61. There will be good fortune, gain of children, and acquisition of wealth through righteous means. There will be listening to the ancient teachings (dharma) of the Purāṇas and association with people of an amorous disposition.
इष्टबन्धुजनाकीर्णं शोभितं तस्य मन्दिरम् ।
स्वप्रभोश्च महत्सौख्यं नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ॥६२॥
62. iṣṭabandhujanākīrṇaṃ śobhitaṃ tasya mandiram .
svaprabhośca mahatsaukhyaṃ nityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam.
62. iṣṭabandhujanākīrṇam śobhitam tasya mandiram
svaprabhoḥ ca mahat saukhyam nityam miṣṭhānnabhojanam
62. His house (or temple) will be adorned, crowded with beloved relatives and friends. There will be great happiness for his own master/lord, and daily consumption of sweet foods.
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ।
पापदृष्टे पापयुक्ते चतुष्पाज्जीवहानिकृत् ॥६३॥
63. dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā balavarjite .
pāpadṛṣṭe pāpayukte catuṣpājjīvahānikṛt.
63. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā balavarjite
pāpadṛṣṭe pāpayukte catuṣpājjīvahānikṛt
63. If the lord of the planetary period (dāyeśa) is situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house, is devoid of strength, or is aspected by or conjoined with a malefic planet, it causes the loss of four-footed creatures.
अन्यालयनिवासश्च मनोवैकल्यसम्भवः ।
व्यापारेषु च सर्वेषु हानिरेव न संशयः ॥६४॥
64. anyālayanivāsaśca manovaikalyasambhavaḥ .
vyāpāreṣu ca sarveṣu hānireva na saṃśayaḥ.

64. There will also be residence in a different place and the occurrence of mental distress. In all undertakings, there will undoubtedly be only loss.
भुक्त्यादौ शोभनं प्रोक्तं मध्ये मध्यफलं दिशेत् ।
अन्ते क्लेशकरं चैव शीतवातज्वरादिकम् ॥६५॥
65. bhuktyādau śobhanaṃ proktaṃ madhye madhyaphalaṃ diśet .
ante kleśakaraṃ caiva śītavātajvarādikam.

65. In the beginning of the sub-period (bhukti), auspicious results are declared. In the middle, it indicates moderate results. And at the end, it causes troubles such as colds, wind-related ailments, fever, and so forth.
सप्तमाधीशदोषेण देहपीडा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ॥६६॥
66. saptamādhīśadoṣeṇa dehapīḍā bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ viṣṇusāhasrakaṃ japet.

66. Due to a flaw in the lord of the seventh house, there will be bodily pain. For the purpose of removing that flaw, one should chant the Viṣṇu Sahasranāma.

योगकारकसम्बन्धे स्थानवीर्यसमन्विते ॥६७॥

भुक्त्यादौ शुभमाधिक्यान्नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं गोमहोष्यादिवृद्धिकृत् ॥६८॥
68. bhuktyādau śubhamādhikyānnityaṃ miṣṭhānnabhojanam .
vyavasāyātphalādhikyaṃ gomahoṣyādivṛddhikṛt.

68. During the initial part of the planetary sub-period (bhukti), an abundance of auspiciousness leads to a daily consumption of sweet foods. There is also increased profit from businesses, and an expansion in cattle wealth, such as cows and buffaloes.
धनधान्यसमृद्धिश्च संग्रामे विजयो भवेत् ।
भुक्त्यन्ते हि सुखं चैव भुक्त्यादौ मध्यमं फलम् ॥६९॥
69. dhanadhānyasamṛddhiśca saṃgrāme vijayo bhavet .
bhuktyante hi sukhaṃ caiva bhuktyādau madhyamaṃ phalam.

69. There will be prosperity in wealth and grains, and victory in conflicts. At the conclusion of the planetary sub-period (bhukti), there is certainly happiness, whereas in its initial phase, the outcomes are moderate.
मध्ये मध्ये महत्कष्टं पश्चादारोग्यमादिशेत् ।
दायेशाद्रन्ध्रभावस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥७०॥
70. madhye madhye mahatkaṣṭaṃ paścādārogyamādiśet .
dāyeśādrandhrabhāvasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute.

70. During the middle portion [of the sub-period (bhukti)], there is significant hardship; however, health is indicated later. This occurs when the lord of the planetary sub-period (dāyeśa) is situated in the eighth house (randhra-bhāva), or the twelfth house (vyaya-bhāva), or is conjoined with malefic planets (pāpa-saṃyute).
चौराहिव्रणपीडा च बुद्धिनाशो महद्भयम् ।
शिरोरुजं मनस्तापमकर्मकलहं वदेत् ॥७१॥
71. caurāhivraṇapīḍā ca buddhināśo mahadbhayam .
śirorujaṃ manastāpamakarmakalahaṃ vadet.

71. (This verse continues the condition from 140603) Such a planetary configuration indicates affliction from thieves, snakes, and wounds; loss of intellect; great fear; headaches; mental distress; and conflicts arising from idleness.
प्रमेहभवरोगं च नानामार्गे धनव्ययः ।
भार्यापुत्रविरोधश्च गमनं कार्यनाशनम् ॥७२॥

72. (This verse continues the condition from 140603-140604) Furthermore, it signifies diseases such as urinary disorders (prameha), expenditures of wealth through various means, conflicts with one's spouse and children, and travels that result in the destruction of one's undertakings.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ॥७३॥
73. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehabādhā bhaviṣyati .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ mṛtyuñjayajapaṃ caret.
73. dvitīya-dyūna-nāthe tu deha-bādhā bhaviṣyati
tat doṣa-parihārārtham mṛtyuñjaya-japam caret
73. If the lord of the eighth house (which is the second from the seventh house) is prominent, there will be bodily afflictions. For the removal of this defect, one should perform the recitation (japa) of the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra.
छागदानं प्रकुर्वीत सर्वसम्पत्प्रदायकम् ।
शुक्रप्रीतिकरीं शान्तिं ततः सुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥७४॥
74. chāgadānaṃ prakurvīta sarvasampatpradāyakam .
śukraprītikarīṃ śāntiṃ tataḥ sukhamavāpnuyāt.
74. chāga-dānam prakurvīta sarva-sampat-pradāyakam
śukra-prītikarīm śāntim tataḥ sukham avāpnuyāt
74. One should perform the donation of a goat, which bestows all prosperity. One should also perform a pacification ritual that pleases Venus. Thereafter, one will attain happiness.
