If the ascendant (lagna) is conjoined with benefics, the resulting planetary combination (yoga) is auspicious; if it is conjoined with malefics, the yoga is inauspicious. Similarly, if benefics are in the 2nd or 12th house, the yoga is auspicious; if malefics are in the 2nd or 12th house, the yoga is inauspicious, in that order.

A person born from an auspicious planetary combination (yoga) is eloquent and endowed with beauty, good character, and virtues. Conversely, one born from an inauspicious planetary combination (yoga) is lustful, performs sinful acts (karma), and may be associated with or covet others' wealth.
केन्द्रे देवगुरौ लग्नाच्चन्द्राद्वा शुभदृग्युते ।
नीचास्तारिगृहैर्हीने योगोऽयं गजकेसरी ॥३॥

When Jupiter (Devaguru) is situated in a Kendra (angular house, 1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th) from either the ascendant (lagna) or the Moon, and is conjoined with or aspected by benefics, and is not in its sign of debilitation, combust, or in an enemy's house, this planetary combination (yoga) is known as Gajakesari.
गजकेसरीसञ्जातस्तेजस्वी धनवान् भवेत् ।

A person born under the Gajakesari planetary combination (yoga) is brilliant, becomes wealthy, is intelligent, endowed with good qualities, and is cherished by rulers or authorities.
दशमेऽङ्गात्तथा चन्द्रात् केवलैश्च शुभैर्युते ।
स योगोऽमलकीत्र्त्याख्यः कीर्तिराचन्द्रतारकी ॥५॥

When the 10th house, counted from either the ascendant (anga) or the Moon, is conjoined or aspected *only* by benefics, that planetary combination (yoga) is called Amalakirti, and it bestows fame that endures as long as the Moon and stars exist.
राजपूज्ये महाभोगी दाता बन्धुजनप्रियः ।
परोपकारी धर्मात्मा गुणढ्योऽमलकीर्तिजः ॥६॥

Honored by kings, a great enjoyer of pleasures, generous, dear to relatives, a benefactor of others, righteous-souled (dharmātman), endowed with many virtues, and possessing spotless fame.
सप्तमे चाऽष्टमे शुद्धे शुभग्रहयुतेऽथवा ।
केन्द्रेषु शुभयुक्तेषु योगः पर्वतसंज्ञकः ॥७॥

If the seventh and eighth houses are pure or conjoined with benefic planets, or if the angular houses are conjoined with benefic planets, then this combination is known as Parvata Yoga.
भाग्यवान् पर्वतोत्पन्नः वाग्मी दाता च शास्त्रवित् ।
हास्यप्रियो यशस्वी च तेजस्वी पुरनायकः ॥८॥

A person born with Parvata Yoga is fortunate, an eloquent speaker, generous, a knower of scriptures, fond of humor, famous, radiant, and a leader of his community.

Kāhala Yoga occurs if the lord of the 4th house and Jupiter are mutually situated in angular houses while the ascendant lord is strong; or, if the lord of the 4th house is in its own sign or exalted and conjoined with the lord of the 10th house.
ओजस्वी साहसी धूर्तश्चतुरङ्गबलान्वितः ।
यत्किञ्चिद् ग्रामनाथश्च काहले जायते नरः ॥१०॥

A person born with Kāhala Yoga is energetic, courageous, shrewd, possesses the strength of a four-fold army (implying great power), and becomes at least a village chief.

When the lord of the ascendant (lagna) is exalted (tuṅga), located in a quadrant (kendra) house, and aspected by Jupiter (guru), the Chāmara Yoga is formed. Alternatively, this yoga is formed when two benefics are in the ascendant (lagna), or in the ninth, tenth, or seventh house.
राजा वा राजपुज्यो वा चिरजीवी च पण्डितः ।
वाग्मी सर्वकलाविद् वा चामरे जायते जनः ॥१२॥

A person born with Chāmara Yoga (cāmara) becomes a king, or one respected by kings, long-lived, and learned. They are also eloquent, or skilled in all arts.
सवले लग्नपे पुत्रषष्ठपौ केन्द्रगौ मिथः ।

Śaṅkha Yoga is formed when the lord of the ascendant (lagna) is strong, and the lords of the fifth (putra) and sixth (ṣaṣṭha) houses are both situated in quadrant (kendra) houses. Alternatively, it is formed when the lords of the ascendant and tenth (karma) houses are in cardinal (cara) signs, and the lord of the ninth (bhāgya) house is strong.
धनस्त्रीपुत्रसंयुक्तो दयालुः पुण्यवान् सुधीः ।
पुण्यकर्मा चिरञ्जीवी शंखयोगोद्भवो नरः ॥१४॥

14.
A person born with Śaṅkha Yoga (śaṅkhayoga) is endowed with wealth, a wife, and children. They are compassionate, virtuous, intelligent, perform meritorious actions (puṇya-karma), and are long-lived.
सबले भाग्यपे भेरी खगैः स्वान्त्योदयास्तगैः ।
सबले भाग्यपे वाऽसौ केन्द्रे शुक्रेज्यलग्नपैः ॥१५॥

15. sabale bhāgyape bherī khagaiḥ svāntyodayāstagaiḥ .

Bherī Yoga is formed when the lord of the ninth (bhāgya) house is strong, and all planets (khaga) are situated in the second (sva), twelfth (antya), first (udaya/lagna), and seventh (asta) houses. Alternatively, this yoga is formed when the lord of the ninth (bhāgya) house is strong and positioned in a quadrant (kendra) house, along with Venus (śukra), Jupiter (ijya), and the lord of the ascendant (lagna-pa).
धनस्त्रीपुत्रसंयुक्तो भूपः कीर्तिगुणान्वितः ।
आचारवान् सुखी भोगी भेरीयोगे जनो भवेत् ॥१६॥

A person born in the Bherī Yoga becomes endowed with wealth, a wife, and sons. Such a person is a king, possesses fame and good qualities, is righteous, happy, and enjoys worldly pleasures.
सबले लग्नपे खेटाः केन्द्रे कोणे स्वभोच्चगाः ।
मृगङ्गयोगो जातोऽत्र भूपो वा तत्समः सुखी ॥१७॥

When the lord of the ascendant (lagna) is strong, and planets are situated in quadrant (kendra) or trine (koṇa) houses, in their own signs or signs of exaltation, then a Mṛgāṅga Yoga is formed. A person born in this (yoga) becomes a king or one equal to a king, and is happy.
कीमेशे कर्मगे तुङ्गे कर्मेशे भाग्यपान्विते ।

18.
When the lord of Kīma (likely the 10th house lord) is in the 10th house and exalted, and the lord of the 10th house is conjoined with the lord of the 9th house, then a Yoga named Śrīnātha (yoga) is formed. A person born in this (yoga) becomes a king, equal to Venus in prosperity and enjoyment.

Śārada Yoga forms when the lord of the 10th house is in the 5th house and simultaneously in a quadrant (kendra), and Mercury and the Sun are strong in their own signs. Furthermore, either Jupiter or Mercury must be in a trine (koṇa) from the Moon, or Mars must be in the 11th house (lābha).
धनस्त्रीपुत्रसंयुक्तः सुखी विद्वान् नृपप्रियः ।
तपस्वी धर्मसंयुक्तः शारदे जायते जनः ॥२०॥

A person born in the Śārada Yoga becomes endowed with wealth, a wife, and sons. Such a person is happy, learned, dear to the king, an ascetic (tapasvī), and righteous (dharma-saṃyuktaḥ).
धर्मलग्नगते सौम्ये पञ्चमे सदसद्युते ।
पापे च चतुरस्रस्थे योगोऽयं मत्स्यसंज्ञकः ॥२१॥

21. dharmalagnagate saumye pañcame sadasadyute .

When benefic planets are located in the ninth house (dharma) and the first house, the fifth house is associated with both benefic and malefic planets, and malefic planets are situated in the angular houses, this astrological combination is known as Matsya Yoga.
कालज्ञः करुणामूर्तिर्गुणधीबलरूपवान् ।
यशोविद्यातपस्वी च मत्स्ययोगे हि जायते ॥२२॥

22. kālajñaḥ karuṇāmūrtirguṇadhībalarūpavān .

One born under Matsya Yoga is indeed knowledgeable about time, an embodiment of compassion, endowed with virtues, intelligence, strength, and beauty, and is famous, learned, and ascetic (tapasvī).
पुत्रारिमदगाः सौम्याः स्वभोच्चसुहृदंशगाः ।
त्रिलाभोदयगाः पापाः कूर्मयोगः स्वभोच्चगाः ॥२३॥

When benefic planets are situated in the fifth, sixth, and seventh houses, and are in their own sign, exaltation sign, or a friendly divisional sign (amśa), and malefic planets are situated in the third, eleventh, and first houses, being also in their own sign or exaltation sign, this combination is called Kurma Yoga.
कूर्मयोगे जनो भूपो धीरो धर्मगुणान्वितः ।
कीर्तिमानुपकारी च सुखी मानवनायकः ॥२४॥

A person born with Kurma Yoga becomes a king, is courageous, endowed with virtuous qualities (dharma-guṇa), famous, helpful, happy, and a leader of humanity.

When the lord of the ninth house is situated in the second house (dhana-bhāva), the lord of the second house is situated in the ninth house (bhāgya-bhāva), and the lord of the ascendant is located in a quadrant or trine house, that combination is called Khadga Yoga.

A person born in the khaḍga yoga (planetary combination) is endowed with wealth, good fortune, and happiness; they are a knower of scriptures (śāstra), rich in intellect and valor, grateful, and skillful.

Lakṣmīyoga (an auspicious planetary combination) is declared when the lord of the 9th house (the house of fortune) is situated in a Kendra (angular house - 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) or in a mūlatrikoṇa (trine house - 1st, 5th, 9th), or is in its own sign or exalted, and the ascendant lord is strong.

A person born in a lakṣmīyoga (auspicious planetary combination) becomes handsome, virtuous, a king or like a king, endowed with many sons and wealth, famous, and rich in natural law (dharma).

This planetary combination (yoga) is called Kusuma when the ascendant (lagna) is a fixed sign, Venus (bhṛgu) is in an angular house (kendra), the Moon is in a trine house (koṇa) conjoined with benefic planets, and Saturn (sauri) is in a house of honor.

A person born in the Kusuma (yoga) combination becomes a king or equal to a king, a generous giver, an enjoyer of pleasures, happy, the chief of his family, virtuous, and learned.

When Jupiter is located in the second or fifth house, and is either conjoined with or aspected by Mercury and Venus; or alternatively, when Jupiter occupies a sign (kṣatra) ruled by Mercury or Venus, that planetary combination (yoga) is known as Kalānidhi (yoga).

When the lord of the ascendant, the lord of the sign occupied by the ascendant lord, the lord of the sign occupied by that (second) lord, and the lord of the navamsha occupied by that (third) lord - these planetary rulers are located in an angular (kendra) house, a trine (kona) house, or in their own exaltation sign, this planetary combination (yoga) is considered Kalpadruma (yoga).

A person born in Pārijāta (yoga) becomes endowed with all prosperity, a ruler, righteous (dharmātmā), full of strength, fond of battle, and compassionate.

Hari (yoga) occurs when auspicious planets are located in the twelfth or eighth house from the lord of the second house. Hara (yoga) is named when benefic planets are situated in the fourth, ninth (dharma), or eighth house from the lord of the seventh house.

When planets are positioned in the fourth, tenth, and eleventh houses from the lord of the Ascendant, this combination is called the Brahma (yoga). A person born with this (yoga) is happy, learned, and endowed with wealth, children, and other such blessings.

When benefics are positioned in the seventh and eighth houses from the Ascendant, and are free from malefic aspects or conjunctions, this combination is called Lagna Adhiyoga (yoga). A person born with this (yoga) becomes a great soul (mahātman), well-versed in sacred texts, and happy.

When the lord of the Ascendant is in Parijatāṃśa, the person is happy. If the lord is in Vargottamāṃśa, they are certainly free from illness. If in Gopurāṃśa, they are prosperous with wealth and grains. If in Siṃhāsanāṃśa, the person becomes a ruler.

If the lord of the Ascendant is in Parāvatāṃśa, the person is learned and prosperous. If in Devalokāṃśa, they are endowed with conveyances. When born with the lord in Airāvatāṃśa, the individual becomes renowned and honored by rulers.
