When Ketu is in an angular house (kendra), a trine house (trikoṇa), or the house of gains (labha), and is conjoined with the lord of the Ascendant, and furthermore, is well-connected with the lords of the house of fortune (bhāgya) and the house of action (karma), and associated with the lord of conveyances (vāhana)...
तद्भुक्तौ धनधान्यादि चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
पुत्रदारादिसौख्यं च राजप्रीतिमनोरुजः ॥२॥
2. tadbhuktau dhanadhānyādi catuṣpājjīvalābhakṛt .
putradārādisaukhyaṃ ca rājaprītimanorujaḥ.
2. tat bhuktau dhana dhānya ādi catuṣpāt jīva lābhakṛt
putra dāra ādi saukhyam ca rāja prīti manorujaḥ
2. During its (Ketu's) planetary period (bhukti), there will be gains of wealth, grains, four-footed animals, happiness from children and spouse, royal favor, and mental ailments.
ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभश्च गृहं गोधनसंकुलम् ।
नीचास्तखेटसंयुक्ते ह्यष्टमे व्ययगेऽपि वा ॥३॥
3. grāmabhūmyādilābhaśca gṛhaṃ godhanasaṃkulam .
nīcāstakheṭasaṃyukte hyaṣṭame vyayage'pi vā.
3. grāma bhūmi ādi lābhaḥ ca gṛham go dhana saṃkulam
nīca asta kheṭa saṃyukte hi aṣṭame vyayage api vā
3. There will also be acquisition of villages, lands, and so on, and a house filled with cattle wealth. However, if Ketu is conjoined with a debilitated or combust planet, or is located in the eighth house or even in the twelfth house (house of loss)...
हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च धनधान्यपशुक्षयः ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा च मनश्चांचल्यमेव च ॥४॥
4. hṛdrogo mānahāniśca dhanadhānyapaśukṣayaḥ .
dāraputrādipīḍā ca manaścāṃcalyameva ca.
4. hṛt rogaḥ māna hāniḥ ca dhana dhānya paśu kṣayaḥ
dāra putra ādi pīḍā ca manas cāñcalyam eva ca
4. During this period, one experiences heart disease, loss of honor, and the destruction of wealth, grains, and livestock. Furthermore, there will be suffering for one's spouse, children, and similar kin, along with significant mental agitation.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथेन सम्बन्धे तत्र संस्थिते ।
अनारोग्यं महत्कष्टमात्मबन्धुवियोगकृत् ॥५॥
5. dvitīyadyūnanāthena sambandhe tatra saṃsthite .
anārogyaṃ mahatkaṣṭamātmabandhuviyogakṛt.

anārogyam mahat kaṣṭam ātma bandhu viyoga kṛt
5. If Ketu, located in the eighth or twelfth house, is connected with the lord of the second house and the lord of the seventh house, it causes ill health, great suffering, and separation from one's own kinsmen.
दुर्गादेवीजपं कुर्यान्मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ।
एवं स्वान्तर्गते केतौ ततः सुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥६॥
6. durgādevījapaṃ kuryānmṛtyuñjayajapaṃ caret .
evaṃ svāntargate ketau tataḥ sukhamavāpnuyāt.

evaṃ svāntargate ketau tataḥ sukham avāpnuyāt
6. One should perform chanting (japa) to Durgā Devī and also chant (japa) the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra. By doing so, when Ketu is in its sub-period (antardasha), one will attain happiness.
केतोरन्तर्गते शुक्रे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रसंयुते ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा राज्यनाथेन संयुते ॥७॥
7. ketorantargate śukre svocce svakṣetrasaṃyute .
kendratrikoṇalābhe vā rājyanāthena saṃyute.

7. When Venus (Śukra) is in Ketu's sub-period (antardasha), and is situated in its own sign (svakṣetra) or exaltation (svocca), or is connected to a kendra (angle), trikoṇa (trine), or labha (house of gain), or is associated with the lord of the kingdom.
राजप्रीतिं च सौभाग्यं दिशात्स्वाम्बरसंकुलम् ।
तत्काले श्रियमाप्नोति भाग्यकर्मेशसंयुते ॥८॥
8. rājaprītiṃ ca saubhāgyaṃ diśātsvāmbarasaṃkulam .
tatkāle śriyamāpnoti bhāgyakarmeśasaṃyute.
8. rājaprītiṃ ca saubhāgyaṃ diśātsvāmbarasaṃkulam
tatkāle śriyam āpnoti bhāgyakarmeśasaṃyute
8. One obtains royal favor and good fortune, accompanied by an abundance of one's own garments and wealth from all directions. At that time, one attains prosperity (śrī), especially when the lord of fortune (bhāgya) and actions (karma) is associated (with Venus).
नष्टराज्यधनप्राप्तिं सुखवाहनसुत्तमम् ।
सेतुस्नानादिकं चैव देवतादर्शनं महत् ॥९॥
9. naṣṭarājyadhanaprāptiṃ sukhavāhanasuttamam .
setusnānādikaṃ caiva devatādarśanaṃ mahat.
9. naṣṭarājyadhanaprāptiṃ sukhavāhanasuttamam
setusnānādikaṃ ca eva devatādarśanaṃ mahat
9. One attains the recovery of a lost kingdom and wealth, excellent happiness and conveyances, and bathing in sacred places like Setu (Rāmeśvaram), as well as a great vision of deities.
महाराजप्रसादेन ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभकृत् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ॥१०॥
10. mahārājaprasādena grāmabhūmyādilābhakṛt .
dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā duścikye lābhage'pi vā.
10. mahārājaprasādena grāmabhūmyādilābhakṛt
dāyeśāt kendrakoṇe vā duścikye lābhage api vā
10. One gains villages, lands, and other benefits by the favor of a great king. This occurs if the lord of the Daśā (major planetary period) is in an angle (kendra) or trine (koṇa), or even in the third house (duścikya) or eleventh house (lābhaga).
देहारोग्यं शुभं चैव गृहे कल्याणशोभनम् ।
भोजनाम्बरभूषाप्तिरथदोलादिलाभकृत् ॥११॥
11. dehārogyaṃ śubhaṃ caiva gṛhe kalyāṇaśobhanam .
bhojanāmbarabhūṣāptirathadolādilābhakṛt.
11. deha-ārogyam śubham ca eva gṛhe kalyāṇa-śobhanam
bhojana-ambara-bhūṣā-āpti-ratha-dolā-ādi-lābha-kṛt
11. It causes bodily health and auspiciousness, as well as well-being and beauty in the home. It also brings about the gain of food, clothing, ornaments, vehicles, palanquins, and other such acquisitions.
दायेशाद्रिपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ।
अकस्मात्कलहं चैव पशुधान्यादिपीडनम् ॥१२॥
12. dāyeśādripurandhrasthe vyaye vā pāpasaṃyute .
akasmātkalahaṃ caiva paśudhānyādipīḍanam.
12. dāyeśa-adri-ripu-randhra-sthe vyaye vā pāpa-saṃyute
akasmāt kalaham ca eva paśu-dhānya-ādi-pīḍanam
12. When the lord of the planetary period (daśā) is situated in the 7th, 6th, or 8th house, or in the 12th house, and is conjoined with malefic planets, there will be sudden disputes, as well as affliction to cattle, grains, and similar possessions.
नीचस्थे खेटसंयुक्ते लग्नात्षष्ठाष्टराशिगे ।
स्वबन्धुजनवैषम्यं शिरोक्षिव्रणपीडनम् ॥१३॥
13. nīcasthe kheṭasaṃyukte lagnātṣaṣṭhāṣṭarāśige .
svabandhujanavaiṣamyaṃ śirokṣivraṇapīḍanam.
13. nīca-sthe kheṭa-saṃyukte lagnāt ṣaṣṭha-aṣṭa-rāśi-ge
sva-bandhu-jana-vaiṣamyam śiras akṣi vraṇa pīḍanam
13. When it (the planet) is debilitated (nīcastha), conjoined with another planet, and situated in the 6th or 8th house from the Ascendant (lagna), there will be discord among one's own relatives, as well as suffering from wounds to the head and eyes.
हृद्रोगं मानहानिं च धनधान्यपशुक्षयम् ।
कलत्रपुत्रपीडायाः सञ्चारं च समादिशेत् ॥१४॥
14. hṛdrogaṃ mānahāniṃ ca dhanadhānyapaśukṣayam .
kalatraputrapīḍāyāḥ sañcāraṃ ca samādiśet.
14. hṛd-rogam māna-hānim ca dhana-dhānya-paśu-kṣayam
kalatra-putra-pīḍāyāḥ sañcāram ca sam-ādiśet
14. One should predict heart disease, loss of honor, and the destruction of wealth, grains, and cattle, as well as the onset of troubles for one's spouse and children.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहजाड्यं मनोरुजम् ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं दुर्गादेवीजपं चरेत् ।
श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्यादायुआरोग्यवृद्धये ॥१५॥
15. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu dehajāḍyaṃ manorujam .
taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ durgādevījapaṃ caret .
śvetāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyādāyuārogyavṛddhaye.
15. dvitīya dyūna-nāthe tu deha-jāḍyam
manas-rujam tat-doṣa-parihāra-artham
durgā-devī-japam caret śvetām gām
mahiṣīm dadyāt āyus ārogya vṛddhaye
15. But when the lord of the 7th house (dyūna) is in the 2nd house (dvitīya), there will be physical inertia and mental illness. For the removal of these defects, one should perform the chanting (japa) of Durgā Devi. One should donate a white cow and a buffalo for the increase of longevity and health.
केतोरन्तर्गते सूर्ये स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगेऽपि वा ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा शुभयुक्तनिरीक्षिते ॥१६॥
16. ketorantargate sūrye svocce svakṣetrage'pi vā .
kendratrikoṇalābhe vā śubhayuktanirīkṣite.
16. ketoh antargate sūrye svocce svakṣetrage api
vā kendratrikoṇalābhe vā śubhayuktanirīkṣite
16. During the sub-period of the Sun within Ketu's major period, if the Sun is situated in its own sign of exaltation, its own sign, or in a Kendra (angular), Trikona (trine), or Labha (eleventh) house, and is either conjoined with or aspected by benefics.
धनधान्यादिलाभश्च राजानुग्रहवैभवम् ।
अनेकशुभकार्याणि चेष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ॥१७॥
17. dhanadhānyādilābhaśca rājānugrahavaibhavam .
anekaśubhakāryāṇi ceṣṭasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā.
17. dhana-dhānya-ādi-lābhaḥ ca rājānugraha-vaibhavam
aneka-śubhakāryāṇi ceṣṭa-siddhiḥ sukhāvahā
17. Then there will be gains of wealth, grains, and other resources, as well as royal favor and prosperity. Many auspicious activities will occur, and the fulfillment of desires will bring happiness.
अष्टमव्ययराशिस्थे पापग्रहसमन्विते ।
तद्भुक्तौ राजभीतिश्च पितृमातृवियोगकृत् ॥१८॥
18. aṣṭamavyayarāśisthe pāpagrahasamanvite .
tadbhuktau rājabhītiśca pitṛmātṛviyogakṛt.
18. aṣṭama-vyaya-rāśi-sthe pāpa-graha-samanvite
tat-bhuktau rāja-bhītiḥ ca pitṛ-mātṛ-viyoga-kṛt
18. However, if the Sun is located in the eighth or twelfth house and is conjoined with malefic planets during that sub-period, there will be fear from the government, and it will cause separation from one's father and mother.
विदेशगमनं चैव चौराहिविषपीडनम् ।
राजमित्रविरोधश्च राजदण्डाद्धनक्षयः ॥१९॥
19. videśagamanaṃ caiva caurāhiviṣapīḍanam .
rājamitravirodhaśca rājadaṇḍāddhanakṣayaḥ.
19. videśa-gamanam ca eva caura-ahi-viṣa-pīḍanam
rāja-mitra-virodhaḥ ca rāja-daṇḍāt dhana-kṣayaḥ
19. There will also be foreign travel, affliction by thieves, snakes, or poison, and conflict with royal associates. Furthermore, there will be loss of wealth due to royal punishment or fines.
शोकरोगभयं चैव उष्णाधिक्यं ज्वरो भवेत् ।
दायेशात्लेन्द्रकोणे वा लाभे वा धनसंस्थिते ॥२०॥
20. śokarogabhayaṃ caiva uṣṇādhikyaṃ jvaro bhavet .
dāyeśātlendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā dhanasaṃsthite.
20. śoka-roga-bhayam ca eva uṣṇa-ādhikyam jvaraḥ bhavet
dāyeśāt kendra-koṇe vā lābhe vā dhana-saṃsthite
20. Sorrow, disease, fear, excessive heat, and fever will occur. When the (sub-period) lord is situated in an angular (kendra) or trine (koṇa) house, or in the eleventh (lābha) house, or in the house of wealth (dhana, 2nd house) from the Daśā lord (Ketu).
देहसौख्यं चार्थलाभ0 पुत्रलाभो मनोदृढम् ।
सर्वकार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्यात्स्वल्पग्रामाधिपत्ययुक् ॥२१॥
21. dehasaukhyaṃ cārthalābha0 putralābho manodṛḍham .
sarvakāryārthasiddhiḥ syātsvalpagrāmādhipatyayuk.
21. dehasaukhyam ca arthalābhaḥ putralābhaḥ manodṛḍham
sarvakāryārthasiddhiḥ syāt svalpagramādhipatyayuk
21. One will experience bodily comfort, gain of wealth, the birth of sons, a strong mind, and the accomplishment of all desired goals, along with the lordship over a small village.
दायेशाद्रन्ध्ररिःफे वा स्थिते वा पापसंयुते ।
अन्नविघ्नो मनोबीतिर्धनधान्यपशुक्षयः ॥२२॥
22. dāyeśādrandhrariḥphe vā sthite vā pāpasaṃyute .
annavighno manobītirdhanadhānyapaśukṣayaḥ.
22. dāyeśāt randhrariḥphe vā sthite vā pāpasaṃyute
annavighnaḥ manobītiḥ dhanadhānyapaśukṣayaḥ
22. If the lord of the daśā is situated in the eighth or twelfth house, or is associated with malefic planets, there will be obstacles concerning food, mental anguish, and loss of wealth, grain, and cattle.
आदौ मध्ये महाक्लेशानन्ते सौख्यं विनिर्दिशेत् ।
द्वितीयसप्तमाधीशे ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥२३॥
23. ādau madhye mahākleśānante saukhyaṃ vinirdiśet .
dvitīyasaptamādhīśe hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati.
23. ādau madhye mahākleśān ante saukhyam vinirdiśet
dvitīyasaptamādhīśe hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
23. One should predict great afflictions in the beginning and middle, and happiness in the end. However, if the lord of the second and seventh houses is [afflicted], an unnatural death will certainly occur.
तस्य शान्तिं प्रकुर्वीत स्वर्णं धेनुं प्रदापयेत् ।
भास्करस्य प्रसादेन ततः सुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥२४॥
24. tasya śāntiṃ prakurvīta svarṇaṃ dhenuṃ pradāpayet .
bhāskarasya prasādena tataḥ sukhamavāpnuyāt.
24. tasya śāntiṃ prakurvīta svarṇaṃ dhenuṃ pradāpayet
bhāskarasya prasādena tataḥ sukham avāpnuyāt
24. One should perform remedies for this [condition] and donate gold and a cow. By the grace of the Sun (bhāskara), one will then obtain happiness.
केतोरन्तर्गते चन्द्रे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगेऽपि वा ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा धने शुभसमन्विते ॥२५॥
25. ketorantargate candre svocce svakṣetrage'pi vā .
kendratrikoṇalābhe vā dhane śubhasamanvite.

vā kendratrikoṇalābhe vā dhane śubhasamanvite
25. When the Moon (candra) is within Ketu's period (daśā), and is situated in its sign of exaltation, or in its own sign, or even in a quadrant, trine, or house of gain, or in the house of wealth (the second house), and is associated with benefic planets...
राजप्रीतिर्महोत्साहः कल्याणं च महत्सुखम् ।
महाराजप्रसादेन गृहभूम्यादिलाभकृत् ॥२६॥
26. rājaprītirmahotsāhaḥ kalyāṇaṃ ca mahatsukham .
mahārājaprasādena gṛhabhūmyādilābhakṛt.
26. rājaprītiḥ mahotsāhaḥ kalyāṇam ca mahatsukham
mahārājaprasādena gṛhabhūmyādilābhakṛt
26. Royal favor, great enthusiasm, well-being, and immense happiness, as well as the acquisition of houses, lands, and similar possessions, are brought about through the grace of a great king.
भोजनाम्बरपश्वादिव्यवसायेऽधिकं फलम् ।
अश्ववाहनलाभश्च वस्त्रभरणभूषणम् ॥२७॥
27. bhojanāmbarapaśvādivyavasāye'dhikaṃ phalam .
aśvavāhanalābhaśca vastrabharaṇabhūṣaṇam.
27. bhojanāmbarapaśvādivyavasāye adhikam phalam
aśvavāhanalābhaḥ ca vastrabharaṇabhūṣaṇam
27. There is significant profit in businesses related to food, clothing, animals, and so forth. Also, there is the gain of horses and vehicles, along with clothes, ornaments, and decorations.
देवालयतडागादिपुण्यधर्मादिसङ्ग्रहम् ।
पुत्रदारादिसौख्यं च पूर्णचन्द्रः प्रयच्छति ॥२८॥
28. devālayataḍāgādipuṇyadharmādisaṅgraham .
putradārādisaukhyaṃ ca pūrṇacandraḥ prayacchati.
28. devālayataḍāgādipuṇyadharmādisaṅgraham
putradārādisaukhyam ca pūrṇacandraḥ prayacchati
28. The full moon bestows the accumulation of merit (puṇya) and righteous deeds (dharma) from activities like building temples and ponds, as well as happiness from sons, wives, and similar family relationships.
क्षीणे वा नीचगे चन्द्रे षष्ठाष्टमव्ययराशिगे ।
आत्मसौख्यं मनस्तापं कार्यविघ्नं महद्भयम् ॥२९॥
29. kṣīṇe vā nīcage candre ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige .
ātmasaukhyaṃ manastāpaṃ kāryavighnaṃ mahadbhayam.
29. kṣīṇe vā nīcage candre ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyayarāśige
ātmasaukhyam manastāpam kāryavighnam mahatbhayam
29. When the moon is waning or debilitated, or situated in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house (rāśi), there is a lack of self-comfort, mental distress, obstacles in work, and great fear.
पितृमातृवियोगं च देहजाड्यं मनोव्यथाम् ।
व्यवसायात्फलं कष्टं पशुनाशं भयं वदेत् ॥३०॥
30. pitṛmātṛviyogaṃ ca dehajāḍyaṃ manovyathām .
vyavasāyātphalaṃ kaṣṭaṃ paśunāśaṃ bhayaṃ vadet.
30. pitṛmātṛviyogam ca dehajāḍyam manovyathām
vyavasāyāt phalam kaṣṭam paśunāśam bhayam vadet
30. One experiences separation from father and mother, bodily illness, and mental anguish. Troublesome outcomes from business, loss of animals, and fear are also predicted.
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा लाभे वा बलसंयुते ।
कृषिगोभूमिलाभं च इष्टबन्धुसमागमम् ॥३१॥
31. dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā balasaṃyute .
kṛṣigobhūmilābhaṃ ca iṣṭabandhusamāgamam.
31. dāyeśāt kendrakoṇe vā lābhe vā balasamyute
kṛṣigobhūmilābham ca iṣṭabandhusamāgamam
31. When the lord of the planetary period (daśā) is strong and situated in an angular (kendra), trinal (koṇa), or gain (lābha) house, there will be gains from agriculture, cattle, and land, and a reunion with dear relatives.
तस्मात्स्वकार्यसिद्धिं च गृहे गोक्षीरमेव च ।
भुक्त्यादौ शुभमारोग्यं मध्ये राजप्रियं शुभम् ॥३२॥
32. tasmātsvakāryasiddhiṃ ca gṛhe gokṣīrameva ca .
bhuktyādau śubhamārogyaṃ madhye rājapriyaṃ śubham.
32. tasmāt svakāryasiddhim ca gṛhe gokṣīram eva ca
bhuktyādau śubham ārogyam madhye rājapriyam śubham
32. Consequently, there will be success in one's own undertakings and an abundance of cow's milk in the home. At the beginning of the sub-period, there will be auspiciousness and good health; in the middle, auspicious favor from the government.
अन्ते तु राजभीतिं च विदेशगमनं तथा ।
दूरयात्रादिसञ्चारं सम्बन्धिजनपूजनम् ॥३३॥
33. ante tu rājabhītiṃ ca videśagamanaṃ tathā .
dūrayātrādisañcāraṃ sambandhijanapūjanam.
33. ante tu rājabhītim ca videśagamanam tathā
dūrayātrādisañcāram sambandhijanapūjanam
33. However, at the end (of the sub-period), there will be fear from the government, as well as travel to foreign lands, movement involving long journeys, and the honoring of relatives.
दायेशात्षष्ठरिःफे वा रन्ध्रे वा बलवर्जिते ।
धनधान्यादिहानिश्च मनोव्यात्कुलमेव च ॥३४॥
34. dāyeśātṣaṣṭhariḥphe vā randhre vā balavarjite .
dhanadhānyādihāniśca manovyātkulameva ca.
34. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭhariḥphe vā randhre vā balavarjite
dhanadhānyādihāniḥ ca manovyākulam eva ca
34. If the lord of the planetary period (daśā) is weak and located in the sixth, twelfth, or eighth house, there will be a loss of wealth, grains, and other possessions, along with mental distress.
स्वबन्धुजनवैरं च भ्रातृपीडा तथैव च ।
निधनाधिपदोषेण द्विसप्तपतिसंयुते ॥३५॥
35. svabandhujanavairaṃ ca bhrātṛpīḍā tathaiva ca .
nidhanādhipadoṣeṇa dvisaptapatisaṃyute.
35. svabandhujanavairam ca bhrātṛpīḍā tathā eva
ca nidhanādhipadoṣeṇa dvisaptapatisaṃyute
35. There will also be enmity with one's own relatives and trouble to siblings. This particularly occurs due to the affliction caused by the lord of the eighth house, when it is associated with the lords of the second and seventh houses.
अपमृत्युभयं तस्य शान्तिं कुर्याद्यथाविधि ।
चन्द्रप्रीतिकरीं चैव ह्यायुरारोग्यसिद्धये ॥३६॥
36. apamṛtyubhayaṃ tasya śāntiṃ kuryādyathāvidhi .
candraprītikarīṃ caiva hyāyurārogyasiddhaye.

36. To avert the fear of untimely death for that person, one should perform propitiatory rites according to the prescribed method. These rites should also be performed to please the Moon, for the attainment of longevity and health.
केतोरन्तर्गते भौमे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे वाऽपि शुभग्रहयुतेक्षिते ॥३७॥

आदौ शुभफलं चैव ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभकृत् ।
धनधान्यादिलाभश्च चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ॥३८॥

38. First, there will be auspicious results, specifically the acquisition of villages, lands, and similar assets. There will also be gains of wealth and grains, along with the acquisition of quadrupeds and other living creatures.
गृगारामक्षेत्रलाभो राजानुग्रहवैभवम् ।
भाग्ये कर्मेशसम्बन्धे भूलाभः सौख्यमेव च ॥३९॥
39. gṛgārāmakṣetralābho rājānugrahavaibhavam .
bhāgye karmeśasambandhe bhūlābhaḥ saukhyameva ca.
39. gṛgārāmakṣetralābhaḥ rājānugrahavibhavam bhāgye

39. There will be gains of houses, gardens, and fields, along with royal favor and splendor. When there is a connection between the lord of the tenth house and the ninth house, there will be gains of land and indeed, happiness.
दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ।
राजप्रीतियशोलाभः पुत्रमित्रादिसौख्यकृत् ॥४०॥
40. dāyeśātkendrakoṇe vā duścikye lābhage'pi vā .
rājaprītiyaśolābhaḥ putramitrādisaukhyakṛt.

40. When (Mars is situated) in an angular or trine house from the Daśā lord, or even in the 3rd house or the 11th house, there will be gains of royal favor and fame, and it will bring happiness from sons, friends, and similar relations.
तथाऽष्टमव्यये भौमे दायेशाद्धनगेऽपि वा ।
द्रुतं करोति मरणं विदेशे चापदं भ्रमम् ॥४१॥
41. tathā'ṣṭamavyaye bhaume dāyeśāddhanage'pi vā .
drutaṃ karoti maraṇaṃ videśe cāpadaṃ bhramam.

41. Similarly, when Mars is situated in the eighth or twelfth house, or in the second house from the lord of the seventh house, it quickly causes death, as well as calamity and wandering in foreign lands.
प्रमेहमूत्रकृच्छ्रादिचौरादिनृपपीडनम् ।
कलहादि व्यथायुक्तं किञ्चित्सुखविवर्द्धनम् ॥४२॥
42. pramehamūtrakṛcchrādicaurādinṛpapīḍanam .

42. (It causes) diseases like diabetes and dysuria, oppression by thieves and kings, quarrels, and is associated with suffering, though with a slight increase in happiness.
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु तापज्वरविषाद्भयम् ।
दारपीडा मनःक्लेशमपमृत्युभयं भवेत् ॥४३॥
43. dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu tāpajvaraviṣādbhayam .
dārapīḍā manaḥkleśamapamṛtyubhayaṃ bhavet.
43. dvitīya-dyūna-nāthe tu tāpa-jvara-viṣāt bhayam

43. However, when the lord of the second and seventh houses is afflicted, there will be fear from fevers and poison, suffering to the spouse, mental distress, and fear of untimely death.
अण्ड्वाहं प्रदद्यात्तु सर्वसम्पत्सुखावहम् ।
ततः शान्तिमवाप्नोति भौमग्रहप्रसादतः ॥४४॥
44. aṇḍvāhaṃ pradadyāttu sarvasampatsukhāvaham .
tataḥ śāntimavāpnoti bhaumagrahaprasādataḥ.
44. aṇḍvāham pradadyāt tu sarva-sampat-sukha-āvaham

44. One should offer a bull, which brings all prosperity and happiness. Thereafter, one attains peace by the grace (prasāda) of the planet Mars.
केतोरन्तर्गते राहौ स्वोच्चे मित्रस्वराशिगे ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणे लाभे वा दुश्चिक्ये धनसंज्ञके ॥४५॥

When Rahu's sub-period (antargata) is running within Ketu's major period, and Rahu is located in its own sign of exaltation, or in a friendly sign, or its own sign, or in an angular (kendra) house, a trine (trikoṇa) house, the eleventh house (lābha), the third house (duścikkya), or the second house (dhana)...
तत्काले धनलाभः स्यात्सञ्चारो भवति ध्रुवम् ।
म्लेच्छप्रभुवशात्सौख्यं धन्धान्यफलादिकम् ॥४६॥
46. tatkāle dhanalābhaḥ syātsañcāro bhavati dhruvam .
mlecchaprabhuvaśātsaukhyaṃ dhandhānyaphalādikam.

46. At that time, there will certainly be a gain of wealth and journeys. Happiness and the acquisition of grain, wealth, and similar benefits will come due to the influence of foreign rulers.
चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभः स्याद्ग्रामभूम्यादिलाभकृत् ।
भुक्त्यादौ क्लेशमाप्नोति मध्यान्ते सौख्यमाप्नुयात् ॥४७॥
47. catuṣpājjīvalābhaḥ syādgrāmabhūmyādilābhakṛt .
bhuktyādau kleśamāpnoti madhyānte saukhyamāpnuyāt.
47. catuṣpāt jīvalābhaḥ syāt grāmabhūmyādilābhakṛt |

47. There will be a gain of four-footed animals and acquisition of villages, land, and similar assets. One experiences trouble at the beginning of enjoyment, but obtains happiness in the middle and at the end.
रन्ध्रे वा व्ययगे राहौ पापसंदृष्टसंयुते ।
बहुमूत्रं कृशं दीहं शीतज्वरविषाद्भयम् ॥४८॥
48. randhre vā vyayage rāhau pāpasaṃdṛṣṭasaṃyute .
bahumūtraṃ kṛśaṃ dīhaṃ śītajvaraviṣādbhayam.

48. If Rahu is in the eighth house (randhra) or the twelfth house (vyaya) and is conjoined or aspected by malefic planets, there will be excessive urination, emaciation, debility, and fear from cold fevers and poison.
चातुर्थिकज्वरं चैव क्षुद्रोपद्रवपीडनम् ।
अकस्मात्कलहं चैव प्रमेहं शूलमादिशेत् ॥४९॥
49. cāturthikajvaraṃ caiva kṣudropadravapīḍanam .

49. One should also predict quartan fever, affliction by minor troubles, sudden quarrels, diabetes, and colic.

50. dvitīyasaptamasthe vā tadā kleśaṃ mahadbhayam .

50. Or, if it (Rahu, implicitly from the previous verse) is in the second or seventh house, then there will be trouble and great fear. To remedy this affliction, one should perform the chanting (japa) of Goddess Durga.

52. If (Jupiter is) conjoined with the lords of the 10th house (karma) and 9th house (bhāgya), then it indicates the acquisition of wealth, grains, and other riches, royal favor, enthusiasm, and conveyances like horses and palanquins.
गृहे कल्याणसम्पत्तिं पुत्रलाभं महोत्सवहम् ।
पुण्यतीर्थं महोत्साहं सत्कर्म च सुखावहम् ॥५३॥
53. gṛhe kalyāṇasampattiṃ putralābhaṃ mahotsavaham .
puṇyatīrthaṃ mahotsāhaṃ satkarma ca sukhāvaham.

53. It indicates prosperity and auspiciousness in the home, the birth of children (putralābha), great festivities, meritorious pilgrimages (puṇyatīrtha), immense enthusiasm, and virtuous actions (sat karma) that bring happiness.
इष्टदेवप्रसादेन विजयं कार्यलाभकृत् ।
राजसंल्लापकार्याणि नूतनप्रभुदर्शनम् ॥५४॥
54. iṣṭadevaprasādena vijayaṃ kāryalābhakṛt .

54. By the grace of one's chosen deity (iṣṭadeva), there will be victory and success in undertakings. It also indicates royal discussions and engagements, as well as the meeting of new rulers or important persons.
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये जीवे दायेशान्नीचगेऽपि वा ।
चौराहिव्रणभीतिं च धनधान्यादिनाशनम् ॥५५॥
55. ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyaye jīve dāyeśānnīcage'pi vā .
caurāhivraṇabhītiṃ ca dhanadhānyādināśanam.

55. However, if Jupiter (jīva) is situated in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house, or if it is debilitated in relation to the dasha lord, then there will be fear from thieves, snakes, and wounds, along with the loss of wealth, grains, and other possessions.
पुत्रदारावियोगं च त्वतीवक्लेशसम्भवम् ।
आदौ सुभफलं चैव अन्ते क्लेशकरं वदेत् ॥५६॥
56. putradārāviyogaṃ ca tvatīvakleśasambhavam .

56. One should predict separation from children and wife, which will be very distress-causing. Initially, there will be auspicious results, but ultimately, it will bring distress.

शुभयुक्ते नृपप्रीतिर्विचित्राम्बरभूषणम् ॥५७॥

दूरदेशप्रयाणं च स्वबन्धुजनपोषणम् ।
भोजनाम्बरपश्वादि भुक्त्यादौ देहपीडनम् ॥५८॥
58. dūradeśaprayāṇaṃ ca svabandhujanapoṣaṇam .

58. There will be journeys to distant lands and the maintenance of one's own relatives. At the beginning of the sub-period (bhukti), there will be enjoyment of food, clothes, animals, etc., but also bodily suffering.
अन्ते तु स्थानचलनमकस्मात्कलहो भवेत् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥५९॥
59. ante tu sthānacalanamakasmātkalaho bhavet .

59. At the end (of the period), there will be a change of residence and sudden quarrels. However, if the lord of the second and seventh houses is involved, there will certainly be an untimely death.
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं शिवसाहस्रकं जपेत् ।
महामृत्युञ्जयं जाप्यं सर्वोपद्रवनाशनम् ॥६०॥
60. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ śivasāhasrakaṃ japet .
mahāmṛtyuñjayaṃ jāpyaṃ sarvopadravanāśanam.

60. To alleviate that affliction, one should chant the thousand names of Shiva (Śiva-Sāhasrakam). The Mahāmṛtyuñjaya (mantra) is also to be chanted, as it destroys all calamities.

61. When Saturn (Manda) is situated in the sub-period (antargata) of Ketu, there will be affliction during Ketu's own main planetary period (daśā). This period brings trouble to relatives, mental anguish (manastāpa), but also profit from four-footed animals.
राजकार्यकलापेन धननाशो महद्भयम् ।
स्थानाच्च्युतिः प्रवासश्च मार्गे चौरभयं भवेत् ॥६२॥
62. rājakāryakalāpena dhananāśo mahadbhayam .
sthānāccyutiḥ pravāsaśca mārge caurabhayaṃ bhavet.

62. Due to involvement in governmental activities or royal affairs (rājakāryakalāpa), there will be loss of wealth (dhananāśa) and great fear. Displacement from one's position (sthāna), foreign residence or travel (pravāsa), and fear of thieves on the journey will occur.
आलस्यं मनसो हानिश्चाष्टमे व्ययराशिगे ।
मीनत्रिकोणगे मन्दे तुलायां स्वर्क्षगेऽपि वा ॥६३॥
63. ālasyaṃ manaso hāniścāṣṭame vyayarāśige .
mīnatrikoṇage mande tulāyāṃ svarkṣage'pi vā.

63. Laziness and mental deterioration (manaso hāni) occur when [Ketu is] in the eighth house or in the house of expenditure (vyayarāśiga) (the twelfth house). Alternatively, when Saturn (Manda) is in a trine to Pisces, or in Libra (tulā), or even in its own sign,...
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा दुश्चिक्ये वा शुभांशके ।
शुभदृष्टयुते चैव सर्वकार्यार्थसाधनम् ॥६४॥
64. kendratrikoṇalābhe vā duścikye vā śubhāṃśake .

64. When [Saturn is] in an angular house (kendra), a trine (trikoṇa), or the house of gain (lābha), or in an Upachaya house (duścikhya), or in an auspicious divisional chart (aṃśa). And furthermore, if it is conjoined with or aspected by benefics (śubhadṛṣṭiyute), then all undertakings and objectives are accomplished.
स्वप्रभोश्च महत्सौख्यं भ्रमणं च सुखावहम् ।
स्वग्रामे सुखसम्पत्तिः स्ववर्गे राजदर्शनम् ॥६५॥
65. svaprabhośca mahatsaukhyaṃ bhramaṇaṃ ca sukhāvaham .
svagrāme sukhasampattiḥ svavarge rājadarśanam.

65. And great happiness (saukhya) from one's own lord (svaprabhoḥ), along with pleasant travel (bhramaṇa). There will be happiness and prosperity (sukhasampatti) in one's native village (svagrāma), and a meeting with royalty or high officials (rājadarsana) within one's own community (svavarga).
दायेशात्षष्ठरिःफे वा अष्टमे पापसंयुते ।
देहतापो मनस्तापः कार्ये विघ्नो महद्भयम् ॥६६॥
66. dāyeśātṣaṣṭhariḥphe vā aṣṭame pāpasaṃyute .
dehatāpo manastāpaḥ kārye vighno mahadbhayam.
66. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭhariḥphe vā aṣṭame pāpa saṃyute

66. When a planet, located in the 6th and 12th houses, or in the 8th house conjoined with a malefic, is considered from the Daśā (planetary period) lord, it causes bodily suffering, mental anguish, obstacles in one's endeavors, and great fear.
आलस्यं मानहानिश्च पितृमात्रोर्विनाशनम् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युभयं भवेत् ॥६७॥
67. ālasyaṃ mānahāniśca pitṛmātrorvināśanam .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyubhayaṃ bhavet.

67. Laziness, loss of honor, and destruction to parents occur. Indeed, if the lord of the 2nd and 7th houses (māraka houses) is involved, there will certainly be fear of untimely death.
तद्दोषपैर्हारार्थं तिलहोमं च कारयेत् ।
कृष्णां गां महिषीं दद्यादायुरारोग्यवृद्धये ॥६८॥
68. taddoṣapairhārārthaṃ tilahomaṃ ca kārayet .
kṛṣṇāṃ gāṃ mahiṣīṃ dadyādāyurārogyavṛddhaye.
68. tat doṣaparihārārtham tilahomam ca kārayet
kṛṣṇām gām mahiṣīm dadyāt āyurārogyavṛddhaye
68. To remove those defects, one should perform a sesame (tilahomam) fire ritual. One should also donate a black cow and a buffalo for the increase of longevity and health.
केतोरन्तर्गते सौम्ये केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रसंयुक्ते राज्यलाभो महत्सुखम् ॥६९॥

69. When a benefic planet, in Ketu's Antardasha (sub-period), is situated in a Kendra (angular), Labha (11th), or Trikona (trinal) house, and is in its exaltation sign or its own sign while conjoined with Ketu, it brings gains of power or status and great happiness.
सत्कथाश्रवणं दानं धर्मसिद्धिः सुखावहा ।
भूलाभः पुत्रलाभश्च शुभगोष्ठीधनागमः ॥७०॥
70. satkathāśravaṇaṃ dānaṃ dharmasiddhiḥ sukhāvahā .
bhūlābhaḥ putralābhaśca śubhagoṣṭhīdhanāgamaḥ.

70. Listening to virtuous stories, giving (dāna) charity, and the attainment of (dharma) natural law, which brings happiness, are predicted. Also, there will be gains of land, gains of sons, and an influx of wealth from auspicious gatherings.
अयत्नाद्धर्मलब्धिश्च विवाहश्च भविष्यति ।
गृहे शुभकरं कर्म वस्त्राभरणभूषणम् ॥७१॥
71. ayatnāddharmalabdhiśca vivāhaśca bhaviṣyati .
gṛhe śubhakaraṃ karma vastrābharaṇabhūṣaṇam.
71. ayatnāt dharmalabdhiḥ ca vivāhaḥ ca bhaviṣyati
gṛhe śubhakaram karma vastrābharaṇabhūṣaṇam
71. There will be an effortless acquisition of merit (dharma) and a marriage. Auspicious activities, involving clothes, ornaments, and decorations, will take place in the home.
भाग्यकर्माधिपैर्युक्ते भाग्यवृद्धिः सुखावहा ।
विद्वद्गोष्ठीकथाभिश्च कालक्षेपो भविष्यति ॥७२॥
72. bhāgyakarmādhipairyukte bhāgyavṛddhiḥ sukhāvahā .
vidvadgoṣṭhīkathābhiśca kālakṣepo bhaviṣyati.
72. bhāgyakarmādhipaiḥ yukte bhāgyavṛddhiḥ sukhāvahā
vidvadgoṣṭhīkathābhiḥ ca kālakṣepaḥ bhaviṣyati
72. When associated with the lords of fortune (bhāgya) and action (karma), there will be an increase in prosperity (bhāgya) that brings happiness. Time will also be spent in discussions and stories with learned individuals.
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये सौम्ये मन्दाराहियुतेक्षिते ।
विरोधो राजवर्गैश्च परगेहनिवासनम् ॥७३॥
73. ṣaṣṭhāṣṭamavyaye saumye mandārāhiyutekṣite .

73. When a benefic planet is in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house, and is conjoined with or aspected by Saturn, Mars, or Rahu, there will be conflict with the ruling class and residence in another's house.
वाहनाम्बरपश्वादिधनधान्यादिनाशकृत् ।
भुक्त्यादौ शोभनं प्रोक्तं मध्ये सौख्यं धनागमः ॥७४॥
74. vāhanāmbarapaśvādidhanadhānyādināśakṛt .
bhuktyādau śobhanaṃ proktaṃ madhye saukhyaṃ dhanāgamaḥ.
74. vāhanāmbarapaśvādidhanadhānyādināśakṛt bhuktyādau
śobhanam proktam madhye saukhyam dhanāgamaḥ
74. It causes the destruction of conveyances, clothes, cattle, wealth, grains, and so on. At the beginning of the planetary sub-period (bhukti), it is declared to be auspicious, with happiness and acquisition of wealth in the middle.
अन्ते क्लेशकरं चैव दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
दायेशात्केन्द्रगे सौम्ये त्रिकोणे लाभगेऽपि वा ॥७५॥
75. ante kleśakaraṃ caiva dāraputrādipīḍanam .
dāyeśātkendrage saumye trikoṇe lābhage'pi vā.
75. ante kleśakaram ca eva dāraputrādipīḍanam
dāyeśāt kendrage saumye trikoṇe lābhage api vā
75. At the end of the period, there will certainly be trouble and affliction to one's spouse, children, and so on. This occurs even when a benefic planet is in a Kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th), Trikona (5th, 9th), or Labha (11th) house relative to the lord of the planetary period (dāyeśa).
देहारोग्यं महांल्लाभः पुत्रकल्याणवैभवम् ।
भोजनाम्बरपश्वादिव्यवसायेऽधिकं फलम् ॥७६॥
76. dehārogyaṃ mahāṃllābhaḥ putrakalyāṇavaibhavam .
bhojanāmbarapaśvādivyavasāye'dhikaṃ phalam.
76. dehārogyam mahān lābhaḥ putrakalyāṇavaibhavam
bhojanāmbarapaśvādivyavasāye adhikam phalam
76. One will experience good bodily health, great gains, and prosperity for children. There will be abundant results in businesses related to food, clothing, animals, and the like.
दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ।
तद्भुक्त्यादौ महाक्लेशो दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥७७॥
77. dāyeśātṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā balavarjite .
tadbhuktyādau mahākleśo dāraputrādipīḍanam.
77. dāyeśāt ṣaṣṭharandhre vā vyaye vā balavarjite
tatbhuktyādau mahākleśaḥ dāraputrādipīḍanam
77. If the lord of the daśā (planetary period) is devoid of strength and located in the sixth house, eighth house, or twelfth house from itself, then at the beginning of its sub-period and onwards, there will be great trouble and affliction to one's wife, children, and others.
राजभीतिकरश्चैव मध्ये तीर्थकरो भवेत् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥७८॥
78. rājabhītikaraścaiva madhye tīrthakaro bhavet .
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hyapamṛtyurbhaviṣyati.
78. rājabhītikaraḥ ca eva madhye tīrthakaraḥ bhavet
dvitīyadyūnanāthe tu hi apamṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
78. There will also be fear from the king or government. In the middle of the period, one may undertake a pilgrimage (tīrtha). But if it is the lord of the second or seventh house, there will indeed be an untimely death (apamṛtyu).
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ।
ततः सुखमवाप्नोति श्रीहरेश्च प्रसादतः ॥७९॥
79. taddoṣaparihārārthaṃ viṣṇusāhasrakaṃ japet .
tataḥ sukhamavāpnoti śrīhareśca prasādataḥ.
79. tat doṣaparihārārtham viṣṇusāhasrakam japet
tataḥ sukham avāpnoti śrīhareḥ ca prasādataḥ
79. For the removal of that defect, one should chant the Viṣṇusahasranāma. Thereafter, by the grace (prasāda) of Śrī Hari, one will attain happiness.
