महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-45, verse-80

बहुधा चैकधा चैव कृत्वात्मानं महात्मना ।
शक्तिः क्षिप्ता रणे तस्य पाणिमेति पुनः पुनः ॥८०॥
80. bahudhā caikadhā caiva kṛtvātmānaṁ mahātmanā ,
śaktiḥ kṣiptā raṇe tasya pāṇimeti punaḥ punaḥ.
80. bahudhā ca ekadhā ca eva kṛtvā ātmānam mahātmanā
śaktiḥ kṣiptā raṇe tasya pāṇim eti punaḥ punaḥ
80. mahātmanā ātmānam bahudhā ca ekadhā ca eva kṛtvā,
raṇe kṣiptā tasya śaktiḥ punaḥ punaḥ pāṇim eti.
80. The great-souled one (mahātman) transformed himself, manifesting in many forms and also as a single entity. His divine power (śakti), when hurled in battle, would return to his hand again and again.
