महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-45, verse-46

गरुडो दयितं पुत्रं मयूरं चित्रबर्हिणम् ।
अरुणस्ताम्रचूडं च प्रददौ चरणायुधम् ॥४६॥
46. garuḍo dayitaṁ putraṁ mayūraṁ citrabarhiṇam ,
aruṇastāmracūḍaṁ ca pradadau caraṇāyudham.

46. Garuḍa gave his beloved son, the peacock Citrabarhiṇa (meaning 'having variegated tail feathers'). And Aruṇa gave Tāmracūḍa (the cock, whose 'weapons' are his feet).
