महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-33, verse-44

एकं विषरसो हन्ति शस्त्रेणैकश्च वध्यते ।
सराष्ट्रं सप्रजं हन्ति राजानं मन्त्रविस्रवः ॥४४॥
44. ekaṁ viṣaraso hanti śastreṇaikaśca vadhyate ,
sarāṣṭraṁ saprajaṁ hanti rājānaṁ mantravisravaḥ.
44. ekam viṣarasaḥ hanti śastreṇa ekaḥ ca vadhyate
sarāṣṭram saprajam hanti rājānam mantravisravaḥ
44. Poison can kill a single person, and another may be slain by a weapon. However, the leakage of secret counsel (mantra) destroys a king along with his entire kingdom and his subjects.
