योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-30, verse-97

क्वचित्फलावलीपाकैः क्वचित्काष्ठानलादिभिः ।
क्वचिच्छैत्यहिमद्वारि क्वचित्खादि न किंचन ॥ ९७ ॥

97. At times, (sustenance was obtained) from the ripening of fruit clusters, or by wood fires and the like. At other times, (one was) at the threshold of cold and ice. And sometimes, nothing at all was eaten.
