षष्टिं वर्षसहस्राणि तावन्त्येव शतानि च ।
अशोषयत्तदात्मानं वायुभक्षोऽम्बुजेक्षणः ॥५३॥

53. ṣaṣṭiṁ varṣasahasrāṇi tāvantyeva śatāni ca ,
aśoṣayattadātmānaṁ vāyubhakṣo'mbujekṣaṇaḥ.

tāvanti eva śatāni ca ātmānam aśoṣayat

53. Then, the lotus-eyed one, subsisting only on air, emaciated his own self (ātman) for sixty thousand and six hundred years.
