महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-95

प्रसाद्य देवान्सविभून्समस्तान्भगीरथस्तपसोग्रेण गङ्गाम् ।
गामानयत्तामभिगम्य शश्वन्पुमान्भयं नेह नामुत्र विद्यात् ॥९५॥
95. prasādya devānsavibhūnsamastā;nbhagīrathastapasogreṇa gaṅgām ,
gāmānayattāmabhigamya śaśva;npumānbhayaṁ neha nāmutra vidyāt.
95. prasādya devān savibhūn samastān
bhāgīrathaḥ tapasā ugreṇa gaṅgām
gām ānayat tām abhigamya śaśvat
pumān bhayam na iha na amutra vidyāt
95. Having propitiated all the gods, along with their respective lords, through severe asceticism (tapas), Bhagīratha brought Gaṅgā to the earth. A person who constantly approaches her should experience no fear, neither in this world nor in the next.
