महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-44

अप्रतिष्ठाश्च ये केचिदधर्मशरणाश्च ये ।
तेषां प्रतिष्ठा गङ्गेह शरणं शर्म वर्म च ॥४४॥

44. And whoever is without proper foundation, and whoever takes refuge in unrighteousness (adharma), for them, the Gaṅgā in this world is the support, refuge, welfare, and armor.
