महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-66

जात्यन्धैरिह तुल्यास्ते मृतैः पङ्गुभिरेव च ।
समर्था ये न पश्यन्ति गङ्गां पुण्यजलां शिवाम् ॥६६॥
66. jātyandhairiha tulyāste mṛtaiḥ paṅgubhireva ca ,
samarthā ye na paśyanti gaṅgāṁ puṇyajalāṁ śivām.
66. jātyandhaiḥ iha tulyāḥ te mṛtaiḥ paṅgubhiḥ eva ca
samarthāḥ ye na paśyanti gaṅgām puṇyajalām śivām
66. ye samarthāḥ puṇyajalām śivām gaṅgām na paśyanti,
te iha jātyandhaiḥ mṛtaiḥ ca paṅgubhiḥ eva tulyāḥ
66. Here, those capable people who do not behold the Gaṅgā, with its sacred and auspicious waters, are equal to those born blind, the dead, and the lame.
