क्षान्त्या मह्या गोपने धारणे च दीप्त्या कृशानोस्तपनस्य चैव ।

91. The Ganga is equal to the earth (mahī) in patience (kṣānti), protection, and sustenance. She is also comparable to fire and the sun in her brilliance. She is always esteemed by brahmins, and also by Guha due to his piety (brahmaṇyatā).
