महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-30

स्नातानां शुचिभिस्तोयैर्गाङ्गेयैः प्रयतात्मनाम् ।
व्युष्टिर्भवति या पुंसां न सा क्रतुशतैरपि ॥३०॥
30. snātānāṁ śucibhistoyairgāṅgeyaiḥ prayatātmanām ,
vyuṣṭirbhavati yā puṁsāṁ na sā kratuśatairapi.
30. snātānām śucibhiḥ toyaiḥ gāṅgeyaiḥ prayatātmanām
vyuṣṭiḥ bhavati yā puṃsām na sā kratuśataiḥ api
30. yā vyuṣṭiḥ snātānām śucibhiḥ gāṅgeyaiḥ toyaiḥ
prayatātmanām puṃsām bhavati sā kratuśataiḥ api na bhavati
30. The benefit that accrues to men who have bathed in the pure Gaṅgā waters with disciplined minds (ātman), that cannot be achieved even by hundreds of Vedic rituals (kratu).
