महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-84

यो वत्स्यति द्रक्ष्यति वापि मर्त्यस्तस्मै प्रयच्छन्ति सुखानि देवाः ।
तद्भाविताः स्पर्शने दर्शने यस्तस्मै देवा गतिमिष्टां दिशन्ति ॥८४॥
84. yo vatsyati drakṣyati vāpi martya;stasmai prayacchanti sukhāni devāḥ ,
tadbhāvitāḥ sparśane darśane ya;stasmai devā gatimiṣṭāṁ diśanti.
84. yaḥ vatsyati drakṣyati vā api martyaḥ
tasmai prayacchanti sukhāni
devāḥ tat-bhāvitāḥ sparśane darśane
yaḥ tasmai devāḥ gatim iṣṭām diśanti
84. yaḥ martyaḥ vatsyati vā api drakṣyati,
tasmai devāḥ sukhāni prayacchanti.
yaḥ sparśane darśane tat-bhāvitāḥ,
tasmai devāḥ iṣṭām gatim diśanti.
84. To any mortal who will reside by (the Gaṅgā) or merely behold it, the gods grant happiness. And whoever is absorbed in that (Gaṅgā) through touching or seeing, to him the gods bestow the desired destiny.
