महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-43

भवन्ति निर्विषाः सर्पा यथा तार्क्ष्यस्य दर्शनात् ।
गङ्गाया दर्शनात्तद्वत्सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते ॥४३॥
43. bhavanti nirviṣāḥ sarpā yathā tārkṣyasya darśanāt ,
gaṅgāyā darśanāttadvatsarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate.

gaṅgāyāḥ darśanāt tadvat sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate
43. Just as serpents become poisonless by merely seeing Tārkṣya (Garuda), similarly, by seeing the Gaṅgā, one is completely liberated from all sins.
