महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-63

दर्शनात्स्पर्शनात्पानात्तथा गङ्गेति कीर्तनात् ।
पुनात्यपुण्यान्पुरुषाञ्शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥६३॥

63. darśanātsparśanātpānāttathā gaṅgeti kīrtanāt ,
punātyapuṇyānpuruṣāñśataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ.

63. darśanāt sparśanāt pānāt tathā gaṅgā iti kīrtanāt
punāti apuṇyān puruṣān śataśaḥ atha sahasraśaḥ

63. By seeing, touching, drinking, and likewise by uttering "Ganga," it purifies unvirtuous persons by hundreds and by thousands.
