दिवि ज्योतिर्यथादित्यः पितॄणां चैव चन्द्रमाः ।
देवेशश्च यथा नॄणां गङ्गेह सरितां तथा ॥७३॥

73. divi jyotiryathādityaḥ pitṝṇāṁ caiva candramāḥ ,
deveśaśca yathā nṝṇāṁ gaṅgeha saritāṁ tathā.

73. Just as the sun is the light in the heavens, and the moon is for the ancestors, and the lord of gods (Indra) is for men, so too is the Gaṅgā here for rivers.
