महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-77

तद्भावस्तद्गतमनास्तन्निष्ठस्तत्परायणः ।
गङ्गां योऽनुगतो भक्त्या स तस्याः प्रियतां व्रजेत् ॥७७॥
77. tadbhāvastadgatamanāstanniṣṭhastatparāyaṇaḥ ,
gaṅgāṁ yo'nugato bhaktyā sa tasyāḥ priyatāṁ vrajet.
77. tatbhāvaḥ tatgatamanāḥ tatniṣṭhaḥ tatparāyaṇaḥ gaṅgām
yaḥ anugataḥ bhaktyā saḥ tasyāḥ priyatām vrajet
77. That person whose essence is absorbed in her (Gaṅgā), whose mind is directed towards her, who is steadfast in her, and who considers her his supreme goal—if such a one follows the Gaṅgā with devotion (bhakti), he attains her favor.
