She is the daughter of Himavat, the consort of Hara (Śiva), and indeed suited to the regions of both heaven (div) and earth. O King, this auspicious Gaṅgā shines as the future prosperity of the earth. Verily, Gaṅgā bestows merit (puṇyadā) upon all three worlds.
