महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-28

सर्वाणि येषां गाङ्गेयैस्तोयैः कृत्यानि देहिनाम् ।
गां त्यक्त्वा मानवा विप्र दिवि तिष्ठन्ति तेऽचलाः ॥२८॥
28. sarvāṇi yeṣāṁ gāṅgeyaistoyaiḥ kṛtyāni dehinām ,
gāṁ tyaktvā mānavā vipra divi tiṣṭhanti te'calāḥ.
28. sarvāṇi yeṣām gāṅgeyaiḥ toyaiḥ kṛtyāni dehinām
gām tyaktvā mānavāḥ vipra divi tiṣṭhanti te acalāḥ
28. vipra yeṣām dehinām sarvāṇi kṛtyāni gāṅgeyaiḥ
toyaiḥ te mānavāḥ gām tyaktvā divi acalāḥ tiṣṭhanti
28. O Brahmin, those embodied beings for whom all sacred rites (kṛtya) are performed with the waters of the Ganga, having abandoned the earth, remain steadfast in heaven.
