महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-27, verse-93

लोकानिमान्नयति या जननीव पुत्रान्सर्वात्मना सर्वगुणोपपन्ना ।
स्वस्थानमिष्टमिह ब्राह्ममभीप्समानैर्गङ्गा सदैवात्मवशैरुपास्या ॥९३॥
93. lokānimānnayati yā jananīva putrā;nsarvātmanā sarvaguṇopapannā ,
svasthānamiṣṭamiha brāhmamabhīpsamānai;rgaṅgā sadaivātmavaśairupāsyā.
93. lokān imān nayati yā jananī iva putrān
sarva ātmanā sarva guṇa upapannā sva
sthānam iṣṭam iha brāhmam abhīpsamānaiḥ
gaṅgā sadā eva ātmavaśaiḥ upāsyā
93. Gaṅgā, who, endowed with all virtues, completely leads these worlds just as a mother leads her sons, should always be revered by those who are self-controlled and desire their cherished divine abode (brahman).
