मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-10, verse-1

जैमिनिरुवाच ।
संशयं द्विजशार्दूलाः प्रब्रूत मम पृच्छतः ।
आविर्भाव-तिरोभावौ भूतानां यत्र संस्थितौ ॥१॥

āvirbhāva-tirobhāvau bhūtānāṃ yatra saṃsthitau.

1. Jaimini said: "O best among the twice-born (dvija), please declare to me, who am asking, my doubt concerning that in which the manifestation and disappearance of beings (bhūta) are established."
