महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-28, verse-69

वेत्रजर्झरहस्ताश्च द्वाराध्यक्षा विशां पते ।
शयनीयानि शुभ्राणि स्पर्ध्यास्तरणवन्ति च ।
समादाय ययुस्तूर्णं नगरं दाररक्षिणः ॥६९॥
69. vetrajarjharahastāśca dvārādhyakṣā viśāṁ pate ,
śayanīyāni śubhrāṇi spardhyāstaraṇavanti ca ,
samādāya yayustūrṇaṁ nagaraṁ dārarakṣiṇaḥ.

69. O lord of the people, the gatekeepers (dvārādhyakṣāḥ) whose hands held cane staffs, along with the chamberlains (dārarakṣiṇaḥ), quickly went to the city, taking with them bright beds that had valuable coverings.
