महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-28, verse-41

स तु मामश्रुपूर्णाक्षो नाशक्नोदभिवीक्षितुम् ।
उपप्रैक्षत मां दृष्ट्वा तदा दीनमवस्थितम् ॥४१॥
41. sa tu māmaśrupūrṇākṣo nāśaknodabhivīkṣitum ,
upapraikṣata māṁ dṛṣṭvā tadā dīnamavasthitam.
41. सः तु माम् अश्रुपूर्णाक्षः न अशक्नोत् अभिवीक्षितुम्
उपप्रैक्षत माम् दृष्ट्वा तदा दीनम् अवस्थितम्
41. सः अश्रुपूर्णाक्षः तु माम् अभिवीक्षितुम् न अशक्नोत्तदा दीनम् अवस्थितम् माम् दृष्ट्वा उपप्रैक्षत।
41. But he, with eyes full of tears, was unable to look directly at me. Then, seeing me standing in a pitiable state, he gazed at me.
