अनुज्ञातस्त्वहं तेन न्यस्तवर्मा निरायुधः ।
प्रातिष्ठं येन नगरं सायाह्ने रुधिरोक्षितः ॥३९॥

39. anujñātastvahaṁ tena nyastavarmā nirāyudhaḥ ,
prātiṣṭhaṁ yena nagaraṁ sāyāhne rudhirokṣitaḥ.

39. Indeed, having been permitted by him, I, having laid down my armor and being unarmed, departed towards the city in the evening, covered in blood.
