महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-28, verse-16

ततो वीक्ष्य दिशः सर्वा दृष्ट्वा शून्यां च मेदिनीम् ।
विहीनः सर्वयोधैश्च पाण्डवान्वीक्ष्य संयुगे ॥१६॥
16. tato vīkṣya diśaḥ sarvā dṛṣṭvā śūnyāṁ ca medinīm ,
vihīnaḥ sarvayodhaiśca pāṇḍavānvīkṣya saṁyuge.

16. Then, Duryodhana, having surveyed all directions and seen the earth desolate, found himself bereft of all his warriors, and observed the Pandavas on the battlefield.
