महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-93, verse-77

क्रोधो दानफलं हन्ति लोभात्स्वर्गं न गच्छति ।
न्यायवृत्तिर्हि तपसा दानवित्स्वर्गमश्नुते ॥७७॥
77. krodho dānaphalaṁ hanti lobhātsvargaṁ na gacchati ,
nyāyavṛttirhi tapasā dānavitsvargamaśnute.

77. Anger destroys the fruit of giving (dāna). From greed, one does not go to heaven. Indeed, one who lives righteously, through spiritual discipline (tapas), and understands giving (dāna), attains heaven.
