महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-94, verse-85

तस्य तन्मतमाज्ञाय सत्यधर्मपरायणः ।
प्रत्यजानात्तदा राजन्पितुः प्रियचिकीर्षया ॥८५॥
85. tasya tanmatamājñāya satyadharmaparāyaṇaḥ ,
pratyajānāttadā rājanpituḥ priyacikīrṣayā.

85. O king, having understood his (Satyavatī's father's) view, Bhishma, who was devoted to truth and dharma, then made a counter-promise, desiring to please his own father.
