महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-94, verse-5

एतान्यासन्महासत्त्वे शंतनौ भरतर्षभ ।
न चास्य सदृशः कश्चित्क्षत्रियो धर्मतोऽभवत् ॥५॥

5. etānyāsanmahāsattve śaṁtanau bharatarṣabha ,
na cāsya sadṛśaḥ kaścitkṣatriyo dharmato'bhavat.

5. O best of Bharatas, these qualities were present in the great-souled Śantanu. Indeed, there was no other kṣatriya equal to him in adherence to dharma.

5. כל אלה היו בשַׁנְטַנוּ בעל הנפש הגדולה, הו מעולה בני בְּהַרַטַה, ובדרך היושר לא היה בין הלוחמים מי שדומה לו.
